In the first place, at the time of my booking the hotel was Bo Fleuve (not Evangeline). I booked a room with views to the rivière (in English, to the river) and there were nice photos of the views. The room was supposed to be 28sqm. So on our arrival to Bo Fleuve we were told our room was in another hotel from the same chain, Evangeline, as that is were rooms with views to the rivière were. Bo Fleuve had the rooms with views to the fleuve (ridiculously translated into "sea" as I could later check). Now, Evangeline was across the road, far from the private beach Bo Fleuve has -another hotel, another location, other conditions. The views were to a stream -not a river. So on the basis of the views we were sent to another hotel. I checked booking. com website on the spot and I did find hotel Evangeliine now, as a different place. I tried a random date and it turned out that rooms in Evangeline were 30 dollars cheaper. The receptionist, owner or whatever in Evangeline said we had booked too late and that was why we could not stay in Bo Fleuve (???!!) and her counterpart in Bo Fleuve -a man who said he didn't understand English, quite convenient for him to win an argument and odd enough in somebody who works in the tourism sector - said that views to the rivière were in Evangeline but the rooms were the same. I did explain (in French) I had checked the website and the 2 hotels were different and had different pricesw, but he insisted that they were the same .
I can't tell what rooms are like in Bo Fleuve, but the one we got in Evangeline was barely 12sqm (not the 28sqm in the ad), small, crammed, noisy, smelly from wet carpets, tiny towels- a shame. The worst motel we stayed at in our trip, and the most expensive. Again, I booked this one based on the views to the RIVER (NOT the stream), the private beach and park, etc, which we did not have because we were sent to ANOTHER hotel. A clear breach of contract.
Nothing at all.
