The small room with kitchen and facilities was in poor condition for staying. Accommodations had not been properly cleaned, coffee machine had mold growing in the water container, bugs and insects on the drinking glass tray, dead bugs in the corner, toaster oven had not been cleaned, coffee filter could not be cleaned, TV cable box did not work, cleaning services was supposed to have cleaned the accommodations before arrival and owners had left the day before for Taiwan.
Gorgeous location, friendly staff, knowledgeable, about the bras'dor lakes and surrounding area. Tranquil, quaint quiet and peaceful surroundings.
The bed was extremely hard and the place could use an upgrade. But over all a good experience.
Would have preferred a stove to a hot plate.
The cottages are small, but they are layed out in a way that when inside they seem larger....beautiful view of the water.
Maybe the kitchen could have had a bit larger counter...but then who needs a larger counter at a cottage.
We rented the two rooms cottage with two bathrooms idéal for two couples. It was view on the lake.
Maybe, because at the end of season but we were missing some kitchen tools but all the necesary was there.
As commented before, we were told we cancelled our first reservation but we didn't. Booking.com told me to rebook so I did at a higher price. When we arrived around 8 pm the first night, they said they don't have our reservation. Then they found a hard copy of the record in their cancelation pile. By chance they had a lower price cabin at the price we first reserved but without the balcony and water view that were specified in our reservation. We may have got what we first reserved for but only by chance. There is definitely something wrong with how they handle reservations. They don't seem to want our reservations. The first morning was raining and our shower water tasted salty then turned muddy (clearly colored). The said maybe it was the hot water heater. I suspect that the rain water made its way to the well that they said that was what they have. We didn't take a shower the second morning. They did not make the bed and supply new linen the second day. When asked, they said this is an "utility apartment" and they only replace linen every 3 days. Maybe this is how things work, but we certainly did not know.
Nothing. We did not accept the accommodations we were offered.
Being offered "a half cottage" that was supposed to be better than the cottage we had booked. The mildew smell of one "half cottage" offered was overpowering. Not fit for human habitation. The other "half cottage was not as bad but still crowded, dark and dingy. Not at all what is pictured in the advertising site. Bait and switch is what I think this establishment is doing.
We were lucky enough to land in the waterfront cottage. I could bird watch right off the front deck. Cozy cottage, wifi, comfortable bed. Friendly hosts.
It was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful view and quiet location. Having two bathrooms was a luxury. The staff was friendly and polite.
The kitchen consisted of a hot plate, microwave and bar fridge. Hard to cook a meal for a family of four. The barbecue pit was ok but a propane BBQ would have been more convenient.
The location was beautiful and the cottage was roomy.
Kitchen facilities were too sparse (no stove, just a small burner) and too small a fridge. Beds were hard and the owner was gruff! (charged us for a little propane so we could BBQ) which we had to do as there was no oven!
The setting was picturesque It had two bathrooms
The accommodation was not suitable for two couples: one bedroom leading off another. On entering it smelt damp. It was not clean, e.g. dead spider in web behind bathroom door, insects in kitchen equipment. Inadequate kitchen utensils, e.g. only three forks. With hindsight we shouldn't have paid upfront, as requested, before viewing the accommodation. On the whole we couldn't wait to get away.
It was very nice and enjoyable
Location was fabulous. Our cottage was right at waterside, huge deck, comfortable, very spacious, well-equipped kitchen., very nice washroom--super clean. Not fancy but extremely comfortable, leisurely, relaxing. Very kind staff (possibly the most pleasant I've ever dealt with!), bball court for the kids, firepit and free firewood... lots of fun.
Just a bit far from restaurants, etc., but personally, I like that.
