Extremely clean and very well equipped room. Excellent, spacious layout.
Some of the fixtures in the bathroom were hanging off the wall.
The beds and the size of the rooms
I didn't like the breakfast not a enough choices in the food
The staff were excellant and the rooms were clean and we enjoyed the old style of arcutecdure.
The large king size was roomy enough but not comfortable to sleep in. The matress was really hard.
I liked the location somewhat
The practically non available WI Fi in the room.Told them at arrival I would be leaving day early but the insisted I would be paying all - also at a much higher rate then I was quoted by Booking.com. Booking.com saved the situation and are to be commended.Murray Premises is nothing more than a HIGH priced Bed & Breakfast & I would not recommend
Super city centre hotel, helpful staff, super room, superb comfortable bed and good sized bathroom with jacuzzi bath
The room was perfect, clean, bed was comfortable, lots of towels were supplied nicely decorated.
there isn't anything that I didn't like everything was perfect, the room was amazing and enjoyed our night there very much.
Breakfast was lovely. Lots of options and very tasty.
Needs some up dates. Some of finishes looks dated
The character of the building, excellent breakfast, great location.
The tub/shower was difficult to climb over and quite dangerous- it needed a wall bar to grab onto to help getting in or out.
Room was clean The best continental breakfast Located in the center of downtown St John's NL
Room was a bit claustrophobic due to the angle of the ceiling over the bed. Bed was too firm
Unfortunately, there was heavy rain during the night so maintenance had to run a water pump out in the courtyard to remove water build- up. The pump started about 4 AM so we were a bit short of sleep that morning.
Great location to downtown Spacious room Easy onsite parking
Lots of street noise making bedroom noisy Staff at front desk friendly but not as helpful as expected in a boutique hotel Elevator does not go to top floor so carrying your suitcase up a flight of stairs
No need to drive anywhere - exactly what we were looking for in a downtown St. John's experience was within walking distance. The vie from the room offered a glimpse of the harbour and Signal Hill which was a bonus. Really liked the authentic structure!!
The only issue was a very noisy (yet fully functional) toilet. I would expect that cleaning staff clean and flush the toilet after each stay so they would have been aware and had the problem rectified.
Location is superb. Unique rooms, historical significance. Comfortable amenities. Friendly, helpful staff.
Room on the 3rd floor had little natural light. I had made the reservation well in advance and would have preferred an ocean view and more light.
Rooms are unique and comfortable. Room was very large, bathroom was beautiful and also spacious. Breakfast was good. Location Is excellent for proximity to restaurants and George St. We would stay here again.
Restaurant was too expensive so we didn't try it. We had a room on the 4th floor and the elevators only go to 3 so we had to carry luggage up one flight.
A separate walk in shower
The bathtub shower was very difficult to get into. It should be updated.
Good location for a night in St. John's, everything close by including a fabulous walk to Signal Hill
Our room had very little soundproofing, the man upstairs coughed all night and it was if he was in our room!
location, parking, wifi, comfortable, good breakfast
room a little dark because of dormer window and weak lighting.
The location is central and convenient first rate and the mattrress and bed linens were of high quality. It's great that this heritage building has been preserved.
The sound insulation between some rooms (205 to 207) is non-existent. You could hear every word of every conversation. The towel heater was broken and sounded like a lawnmower. Stepped on two sharp objects hidden in the carpet and cut myself. Construction of building with three chain restaurant across the street has ruined almost all of the building's once spectacular harbour view. The elevator is on its last legs and metal now rubs against metal. No room service despite having a steak house kitchen on site.
Lovely labyrinthine building which gives you a feel for the past while retaining all the conveniences of the present!
I loved the jacuzzi and the heated floors in the bathroom. Very spacious, the layout was beautiful.
Too easy to hear the people above us and kept us awake most of the night because they were up talking til 4:30 in the morning. Never bothered to call front desk about it because it probably only worsen the situation.
Everything! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable; housekeeping was quiet and observed requested privacy; and the room was clean, with a firm mattress and lovely linens. The hotel is centrally located for all "must see" sights and restaurants.
Very little - the vents in the ceiling could have been cleaner but I suspect this gets done annually.
Loved our room. It had such character that when we walked in my breath was taken away! Exposed wood, sloping ceilings. View onto the wharf area. Great location for walking almost anywhere in St. John's. Parking. Stayed in St. John's at the beginning and end of our trip. First at Murray Premises, then at a less expensive 'chain' hotel. Spend the extra money and stay here!
I loved the sloping ceilings but may be problematic for tall people. Breakfast was ordinary and room too small.
Location, location, location. Staff is excellent.
Cannot see the harbor anymore. Use to love looking out at the harbor but not the giant restaurants that now flank the waterside. The beds are way too hard, need to upgrade the mattresses. The value use to be in the location and view, now just location and same high cost but no view.
The location at the waterfront and in the immediate area of shopping and nightlife on George Street.
The room has only one, very small, window so there is very little natural light.
Everything!! Murray Premises would be the only place I would return to, when visiting again. It is down town, but yet tucked away, giving a cozy feeling. Walked out the front door, onto a Whale watch tour, back door into a quaint sitting area for cocktails and order menu.
There is absolutely not one thing I could find wrong with my 4 day / 5 night stay at Murray Premises.
