Good location for a night in St. John's, everything close by including a fabulous walk to Signal Hill
Our room had very little soundproofing, the man upstairs coughed all night and it was if he was in our room!
location, parking, wifi, comfortable, good breakfast
room a little dark because of dormer window and weak lighting.
Lovely labyrinthine building which gives you a feel for the past while retaining all the conveniences of the present!
I loved the jacuzzi and the heated floors in the bathroom. Very spacious, the layout was beautiful.
Too easy to hear the people above us and kept us awake most of the night because they were up talking til 4:30 in the morning. Never bothered to call front desk about it because it probably only worsen the situation.
Everything! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable; housekeeping was quiet and observed requested privacy; and the room was clean, with a firm mattress and lovely linens. The hotel is centrally located for all "must see" sights and restaurants.
Very little - the vents in the ceiling could have been cleaner but I suspect this gets done annually.
Loved our room. It had such character that when we walked in my breath was taken away! Exposed wood, sloping ceilings. View onto the wharf area. Great location for walking almost anywhere in St. John's. Parking. Stayed in St. John's at the beginning and end of our trip. First at Murray Premises, then at a less expensive 'chain' hotel. Spend the extra money and stay here!
I loved the sloping ceilings but may be problematic for tall people. Breakfast was ordinary and room too small.
Location, location, location. Staff is excellent.
Cannot see the harbor anymore. Use to love looking out at the harbor but not the giant restaurants that now flank the waterside. The beds are way too hard, need to upgrade the mattresses. The value use to be in the location and view, now just location and same high cost but no view.
The location at the waterfront and in the immediate area of shopping and nightlife on George Street.
The room has only one, very small, window so there is very little natural light.
Everything!! Murray Premises would be the only place I would return to, when visiting again. It is down town, but yet tucked away, giving a cozy feeling. Walked out the front door, onto a Whale watch tour, back door into a quaint sitting area for cocktails and order menu.
There is absolutely not one thing I could find wrong with my 4 day / 5 night stay at Murray Premises.
My fiancé and I stayed at Murray Premises for a night and absolutely loved it. The location is amazing, just off the vibrant George Street and chiming with people in the courtyard. The staff was friendly and the room we had had this beautiful bath with an open concept, very attractive. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Location, old warehouse conversion with old wood beams and ceilings, large rooms
In the heart of the city. Walking distance to everywhere one might wish to be. Excellent staff and the place has character not only comfort.
I thought the personal care amenities were a little lacking for such a high end hotel....also the towels were rather thin and not enough of them especially with a whirlpool tub and two people.
Comfortable large room. Nice to have a fireplace if I return in the winter.
Very close to everything fun in St. John's
Location and facilities, downtown where the action was, with plenty of dining options in the surrounding streets. People were trying to relocate from other hotels not so close to downtown.
The thoughtless Council planner who issued a permit for a three storey monstrosity that blocks an expansive view of the harbour.
The staff was really pleasant, they called cabs for me, gave me directions and were helpful. The location could not be more perfect. You are a block away from George street, so you can visit, but not hear it. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were nice.
The glassware in my room was dirty. The breakfast was on par with Motel 6 and Holiday Inn Express. I'd have expected better quality. The rooms were very brown. Strange decor. Looked 70's to me.
Nice spacious room with nice decor. Large bathroom.
Rather loud air-conditioning.
Executive king room - worth the money for the upgrade.
Regular king room (rm 317) was very dark. Tiny windows and not enough lights.
Room very good. Restaurant looked good but was always full. Great location so could walk everywhere (just about).
Our room was quite dark (small windows and difficult to open) and main room light and one bedside lamp not working which did not help. WiFi was there but quite slow.
location; an expanded continental breakfast with good choices.
I was attending a conference in St. John’s (the Delta) and deliberately chose to stay at the Murray Premises based on a recommendation that it was an “upscale” boutique hotel, much nicer than the 2 meeting hotels. Regretfully, my room did not reflect this – a dark, depressing room on the 4th floor, under the rafters with terrible “feng shui” . The 4th floor was not accessible by elevator (only goes to 3), requiring a walk up the fire exit stairwell and through a fire door which was constantly “stuck”, frequently requiring housekeeping or front desk assistance to get open. It was explained to me by one of the front desk staff that my room was a “booking.com” room which I interpreted to mean the worst one at that price point in the hotel. Toiletries were substandard and one of the two dressing gowns had a huge hole in the front section, allowing for breast exposure if so desired. Due to the set-up in the room, the only non-bathroom longer mirror was situated in such a way that the furthest you could move away from the mirror was less than 2 feet, making it impossible to get a full length view. For the most part the staff I encountered were pleasant enough, but did nothing out of the ordinary to make an impression on me. Upon check-out, I was not asked about my stay nor thanked for being a guest. As a frequent business traveler, I would rank this one of the most disappointing stays I have encountered in several years.
Loved the location, decor and the overall experience including the delicious breakfast
We tried to sleep but above our room on the roof was the air conditioning unit which caused us to wake a lot so we had a very restless night which was unfortunate because everything else was perfect.
The room was a cave. Only one small window in the corner. I would not book here again.
