We found the tub/shower arrangement in our room pretty awkward -
enough that we delayed showering, which considering we were bike riding
and going to the beach, is not great. You have to go up 2 steps to the
tub, then get in over a very high tub edge. Then, there's nowhere
for the hose shower head to anchor, so you have to hold it, while the
circular cloth curtain is flapping around and sticking to you and water
is going everywhere...Was a huge hassle, really. Tub also had a major
crack in it. Would highly recommend taking out the tub and just putting
in a nice, big shower, with convenient shelves, hooks, etc. Wouldn't
want anyone much over 60 staying in that room with the bathroom in its
current state as can foresee a tub/shower injury, and maybe not a
minor one! Also, suggest setting up a small freezer or some sort of
system where guests can help themselves to ice, for drinks in their room
and on their gorgeous decks (and provide glasses in the room)!
Loved the view from the deck that came with our room! And from the
dining area deck. Is in a beautiful, beautiful location. All the staff
are excellent - friendly. They were a bit 'uninformed,' I.E.
lots of hesitation and double-checking or guessing with answers to
questions. Simple questions, like how much is the horseback riding?
(Followed by several minutes of i-phone searching) and I'd
appreciate an actual print-out of my bill, when checking out. Didn't
see it until I got home and even then, it wasn't itemized/broken
down. Still not sure if we ended up paying for our breakfasts
(continental type breakfast - very good!) or if they came with the room.
Still don't know. That was another question that never really got
answered by the staff person we asked when we were checking in. Would
appreciate a more formal check-out process.
