Good lake view. You can see northern light just walk out the front door. We saw northern light in red, green and purple colours, so amazing ! Anytime, you can get drinks and snacks at the common room.
Serious problem of noise from day to night and from night to day, you can't sleep. Noise comes from water pipes, electricity equipments and peoples, mainly comes from the upper floor. There are strong lights at the front door, so you must leave the house at least 10 meters in order to take photos of northern light. That means you have to walk near the lake at dark night, you can imagine the difficulties. Suggest the host to turn off those lights. Cathy is really helpful and kind.
no hot water in the evening and in the morning
Very quiet , very welcoming, nice place along the shore of Great Slave Lake
friendly owners great location
Cathy and all her staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was great (family room) and had a fridge, microwave, coffee, tea, and a it's own set of dishes. There was also a dining table, so we were able to have some meals there and save a bit. Breakfast was also good and included three of my husband's favourites: waffles, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate chip banana bread! The location is both convenient and beautiful - great for access to activities or a stroll around old town. We also took part in a dinner cruise organized by Cathy that was great fun. A definite must do.
Nothing. Everything was great.
Staff and location were great. It was very quiet.
View out main window was terrible. Old quad, motorcycle , long grass, insulation falling off house. The yard was a mess.
This B&B was in a good position for what we wanted. Our reception was warm and the young lady very helpful.
We were relieved that we were the only people there at the time as the communal areas and facilities would have been cramped with any more. The breakfast was not very good and the kitchen poorly equipped.
Nice location, nice people, nice room (family room). Thanks!
Place was fantastic to stay at. I felt very much at home, and the staff are really helpful. Breakfast is also good.
It can be a tad inconvenient with it being somewhat out of the way from the city, but the town is small enough to walk around anyway. Wifi is also intermittent.
The warm welcome and the hospitality. The food was incredible too!
Can use the small kitchen to make simple meals. They even have a small kettle for making noodles.
The location is a bit far away from downtown. It takes around 20-30 minutes walk. It's fine if you don't mind a short walk.
Because it is situated on the northeast edge of town on the shore of the bay, it is easy to quickly get away from the majority of the light pollution of the city. I simply walked out on the frozen bay to get excellent aurora borealis photographs. Owner is very friendly and accommodating.
The house is older with no sound insulation, so noise from the very busy family upstairs was quite obvious. This is really only an issue if you're trying to take an early nap before aurora hunting. It's very quiet at night.
Use of kitchen, Good location at edge of lake for poping out to see if northern lights were about with little street lighting to spoil them
beds a bit old and creaky
Friendly staff, clean
Every night in our room, electric device was cut off all of sudden. We were not able to use lights, microwave, even heater.
Location Great View Comfortable/clean room
Kitchen is not useful Room is comfortable but the whole accommodation condition (living room, kitchen...) was not that cozy Breakfast was just so so.
The staff is very friendly. I stayed at the family room which has a bathroom. They rushed to my aid when requested and solved it (frozen plumbing) professionally. I would/will stay again here even if I got one of the other rooms with a shared bathroom!
We had an excellent experience in this B&B. The owner was a super nice lady. Family suite was comfortable and clean. Facilities was convenient. It has a good location with lake view and you can see the aurora just at the front of the house. The BB was quite close to the old town. Breakfast was good, I really like the cup cake.
The bed was near to the window. The curtain was not big enough to cover the window and it was a little bit cold at night.
The owner was so nice and helpful! And the three dogs she had were so cute! The B&B was very homy, had many movies, books, board games, etc, you could never get bored. Our room was supposed for two people but fit the three of us really well. The owner provided everything: towels, shampoo, body wash...only need to bring tooth brush and toothpaste, really convenient. The breakfast was awesome. Everyday was freshly baked and different, tasted really good. Also had a bunch of coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal and even pasta in the shared kitchen. You could just help yourself and even cook a little bit! Close to back bay, about 10 mins walking to new town centre and 5 mins to old town centre. If the aurora is strong enough, you can just see it here at the front door!
Nothing! Loved everything there and really enjoyed our stay!
I stayed Family suit room. It was very comportable and clean. There are a refrigerator, a microwave and coffemaker and so on. And owners were really kind~!! And we were able to check out side bywindow. The house is located infront of a lake and it's also near downtown and the GreatslaveLake. So we could enjoy to see northern light without a car or AuroraTour.
Good location at the old town area right in front of the Great Slave Lake. If you are lucky, you can see Northern lights right in front of the B&B or your bedroom. We booked the family suite which gave us additional room. Friendly staff and owner Near most of old town attractions. We enjoy our stay there.
No cable TV but with a big selection of DVDs and VHS tapes. No big needs for us as we were there to chase the Northern lights.
Great house and host with beautiful dogs. Cathy is very helpful and has many useful tips. The room was spacious and catered for our needs.
Tv in the room didn't work. Breakfast wasn't great but all the facilities to make your own
Place was dirty, under construction, breakfast was simply apple slices and muffins, no coffee filters, bathroom walls cracked, pictures covered in dust, cable was not working, blinds were as cheap as I have ever seen etc.
Owner was very very friendly and B & B was in beautiful location. We could see aurora from this hotel.
