Staff are really nice. Tea, coffee juice etc all there to help yourself. Room was comfortable and there is a heater so you can keep yourself warm. Lounge is comfortable with cable TV. Great location if you want to see the northern lights, you can see them right there as it's far enough away from city lights.
Bathroom and kitchen could have been cleaned more often/better.
For aurora hunters, it's a perfect choice. The Queen is wonderful, you can just go out onto the frozen Great Slave Lake for photographing whenever you see aurora coming out through the window from the room. The dogs are lovely.
The breakfast is very basic.
Honestly, the staff were phenomenal. So helpful, kind and friendly. You'd forget that it was a home-business. Location was lovely, beautiful view of the lake.
Wifi was almost non-existent. Couldn't load a website. Upstairs was very noisy. Lots of banging and running around. Shower wasn't clean (I believe it was an oversight because everything else was immaculate). Breakfast was very basic. Almost like the left overs from the fridge- very disappointed at that.
see northern light in front of door good location
The location is good
The "breakfasts" are not really breakfasts, they just consist in some slices of orange.
Great location. Great people. Great fresh baked food every morning.
Cosy, warm welcome, clean!
Lack of breakfast..
very helpful staff
bed is too soft house keeping is no good
Good lake view. You can see northern light just walk out the front door. We saw northern light in red, green and purple colours, so amazing ! Anytime, you can get drinks and snacks at the common room.
Serious problem of noise from day to night and from night to day, you can't sleep. Noise comes from water pipes, electricity equipments and peoples, mainly comes from the upper floor. There are strong lights at the front door, so you must leave the house at least 10 meters in order to take photos of northern light. That means you have to walk near the lake at dark night, you can imagine the difficulties. Suggest the host to turn off those lights. Cathy is really helpful and kind.
no hot water in the evening and in the morning
Very quiet , very welcoming, nice place along the shore of Great Slave Lake
friendly owners great location
Cathy and all her staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was great (family room) and had a fridge, microwave, coffee, tea, and a it's own set of dishes. There was also a dining table, so we were able to have some meals there and save a bit. Breakfast was also good and included three of my husband's favourites: waffles, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate chip banana bread! The location is both convenient and beautiful - great for access to activities or a stroll around old town. We also took part in a dinner cruise organized by Cathy that was great fun. A definite must do.
Nothing. Everything was great.
Staff and location were great. It was very quiet.
View out main window was terrible. Old quad, motorcycle , long grass, insulation falling off house. The yard was a mess.
This B&B was in a good position for what we wanted. Our reception was warm and the young lady very helpful.
We were relieved that we were the only people there at the time as the communal areas and facilities would have been cramped with any more. The breakfast was not very good and the kitchen poorly equipped.
Nice location, nice people, nice room (family room). Thanks!
Place was fantastic to stay at. I felt very much at home, and the staff are really helpful. Breakfast is also good.
It can be a tad inconvenient with it being somewhat out of the way from the city, but the town is small enough to walk around anyway. Wifi is also intermittent.
The warm welcome and the hospitality. The food was incredible too!
Can use the small kitchen to make simple meals. They even have a small kettle for making noodles.
The location is a bit far away from downtown. It takes around 20-30 minutes walk. It's fine if you don't mind a short walk.
Because it is situated on the northeast edge of town on the shore of the bay, it is easy to quickly get away from the majority of the light pollution of the city. I simply walked out on the frozen bay to get excellent aurora borealis photographs. Owner is very friendly and accommodating.
The house is older with no sound insulation, so noise from the very busy family upstairs was quite obvious. This is really only an issue if you're trying to take an early nap before aurora hunting. It's very quiet at night.
Use of kitchen, Good location at edge of lake for poping out to see if northern lights were about with little street lighting to spoil them
beds a bit old and creaky
Friendly staff, clean
Every night in our room, electric device was cut off all of sudden. We were not able to use lights, microwave, even heater.
Location Great View Comfortable/clean room
Kitchen is not useful Room is comfortable but the whole accommodation condition (living room, kitchen...) was not that cozy Breakfast was just so so.
