Friendly and efficient hosts. Great room. Excellent breakfast
Nothing to dislike
An excellent B&B with extremely welcoming hosts. It was peaceful, relaxing and the views over the bay were wonderful. A special mention is needed for the breakfast which was a culinary work of art. I wish I had a photograph, and it tasted as good as it looked.
I loved my stay here! Mariette and Pierre were wonderful hosts. They are 4 km from Baie St. Paul. The house is gorgeously appointed, the room was very comfortable, the sheets, mattress and pillows make for an excellent night of rest, the view from the second floor is stunning and the breakfasts were sinfully indulgent. Will definitely go back!
Great hosts…excellent breakfast… fantastic view … really good rooms..
Comfort, breakfast, location & customer service ! Everything was perfect ...
Breakfast is amazing Hosts are very nice, place is very clean and location right over the St-Lawrence river gives an incredible view
Beds are a little stiff Very hot in the rooms without independente heat control
Friendly, spotless and comfortable with attention to detail.
This Bed and Breakfast was beautifully decorated with many artistic depictions of the area and French culture. It was ideally located on a hill overlooking the river and had a great balcony on which to view the scenery in front of you. The breakfast was delicious, generous and very healthy. While not directly in the town of Baie St. Paul, it was an easy 5 minutes away in the peace and quiet.
In most B&B's one just walks in the door and says "hello". This establishment had no obvious instructions for entering, but when we entered we were met with a very cold reception by the woman and were asked if we were staying with them and if we had rung the bell or not.The woman then walked by and asked her husband to deal with us. When he came up the basement stairs and met us in the carpeted hall , the first thing he said was to take off our shoes as we would wreck the hardwood floors. He walked us back to the door where we took them off, sent my husband back outside to park the car properly and then introduced himself. We were given a tour of the house and told of various rules with regards to protecting the floors and proper kitchen use. We were escorted to our room where we spend 15 minutes reading through a ten page rule book including many references to their floors, that we would have to pay for a plate or glass if we broke one at breakfast at the value of the item and it would be deducted directly from our visa, how to properly open and close the sheer curtains that were tied back with a rope and the "rule book" (as it was actually called) went on and on. Upon reminding the owner that I had Celiac and could not eat wheat at breakfast, he seemed very put off and wanted to see the proof that I had written to advise him of this, as this was very inconvenient for them. Apparently the booking company had not forwarded on the note, but this simple bit of confusion could have been dealt with in a relaxed manner that was not accusatory or upsetting to the guests (how hard is it to scramble an egg). While the house was beautiful and they were pleasant at breakfast, they were very uptight about their house and it was a cheap and offensive turn-off. I wouldn't stay there again as a welcoming host is worth so much more than the type of floors or dishware they possess.
beauté de la maison et les dejeuners
The house is beautiful and charming in a spectacular setting. The view was magnificent. The bed and breakfast is close to restaurants and galleries in Baie-Saint-Paul and to national parks.
