Location and a very friendly staff, good bar as well
The first night we received a room on the top floor. The noise from the airconditioning and heating system was so loud that we could not sleep. However, the reception immediately gave us a much quieter room. The air in the entire hotel was quite dry.
The staff were all very nice and accommodating, even when my partner called down at 3 in the morning to ask about the tv remote... Location was wonderful! Right in the heart of Old Montreal!
Wifi was quite slow
I rented a room in the hotel on january 24th. Everything was great i didn t had any issue de service was good the room was clean. The only issue i have is the fact that not all the proper information was given to us their is no place or anyone that told us that it was a non smoking room, i went to a lot of hotel in my life and when it was a non smoking room they where the receptioniste that was advising us they where board advising there client. In your hotel the only way to know is when we see our credit card build no one never advise us. This is the only reason why i am never coming back to the nelligan and refering it to any of my friends
Much better customer service than last time. We received prompt help at front door and desk...both coming and going.
The concierge and staff were fantastic. The decor was fine but not warm and inviting.
I think that the older we get, the more we seek out small, intimate and beautifully designed hotels. Nelligan is pretty but it just doesn't have any charm. It could be the size but I think the rooms were a bit stark and not comfortable in terms of the overall decor.
I loved the proximity to everything. There were restaurants and bars and depanneurs and SAQs within walking distance. The courtesy of the staff, including the doorman. The beautiful brick walls, it felt homey not sterile. I could have stayed a few more days. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!
I was staying solo to finish a final report. The staff was very kind. Thank you.
Loved the small hotel feel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is beautiful and warm.
It appears to need a refresh in the rooms. It's beginning to show wear.
Position Staff Breakfast Bed
Cleanliness - looking a little tired as well in the room
the overall ambiance was warm and inviting. The location could not have been better. Staff appeared happy and interested in the people they were serving! The concierge was a delight!
bathroom needs better lighting. the flooring ( tile) was noisy when carts or suitcases rolled over it, especially near the elevator where our room was located.
Probably the best bedding of any hotel that I have visited. The concierage, Nathalia, was ever pleasant, smiling, knowledgeable and ready to assist with requests and is very much an asset to the hotel The daytime lunch manager of Versus made a deep impression on me in the maner in which he waived my lunch despite protests, for my small concern about one element of what was a very well prepared and tasty luncheon meal. His concern for customer service and overall food satisfaction should be highly commended. Front Desk staff were always willing to advise and create a welcoming first impression for guest arrivals and ongoing suggestions and assistance.
As a resturing guest, my patronage speaks for itself.
We loved the comfort and elegance of the appointments in our room. We had a junior suite, but the Jacuzzi tub was a surprise. The staff were helpful and friendly and accommodated our limited French.
The particular room, no. 217, we would never stay in again. Its location seemed to be above the kitchen, because we had cooking smells from breakfast every morning. We also had noise throughout the day from the laundry chute which was next to the room. There were also many silverfish in the bathroom, the drawers, and the room carpet: the room needs regular insect-prevention work. If they had been insects more harmful than silverfish, we would have asked for a different room.
Optimal location Beautiful decor Clean facilities Helpful staff
Nice quiet and well appointed immaculate room. Staff very helpful and keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible. also plenty of nice little touches. We would definitely stay at the Nelligan if we are in Montreal again.
My wife is a vegetarian and like a lot of places we have visited the choice was very limited. On the plus side the staff gave us some excellent recommendations and even printed the menus for us to view.
Everything was stellar. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with nice bath products. The location was perfect. Concierge and front desk services were very helpful and efficient. Doormen and car valets were friendly and efficient.
Not a thing!
Great location. Wonderful staff.
The room I stayed in was very nice, but it faced the street (Room 403) so you could hear traffic very early in the morning which isn't great if you wanted to sleep in.
beautiful room, excellent location, charming porters and desk staff, most enjoyable restaurant.
breakfast was a little underwhelming for choice and service. Some additional effort in this respect would match the standards of hospitality and quality that the hotel otherwise provides. Only one business desktop computer in the lift lobby with unpredictable connection is not one one expects from a hotel of this calibre.
Spacious rooms, brick wall decor which gives a warm feeling, plush beds!
Other then the location and beautiful Old Montréal setting the hotel is breath taking. The atmosphere of it reminds me of the Hotel Ambos Mundos in Havana but the details in this hotel are looked after to perfection. The staff is amazing. Nathalia at the concierge has helped us to make our stay in Montreal the best ever.
Absolutely loved the location! We took the Via Rail into Montreal and walked to our hotel. It was our first time in Montreal so we didn't know what to expect. This location was perfect for what we wanted to do, which was exploring Old Montreal on foot. The concierge was wonderful and provided excellent recommendations for dinner and a great coffee shop the next day.
We really liked the interior of the room, however, we had an atrium view. There were people walking around on our floor that could see into our room, so we just kept the blinds and drapes closed. Other than that, beautiful facility.
The bedding was super comfortable.
Because of the location there was a lot of street noise during the night.
The location and building itself are exceptional. The staff is impeccable.
The rooms are dated and need a general renovation. The electronic amenities are shockingly old for a hotel in this price range.
Excellent food at Verses Restaurant albeit very small portions. Exposed brick, big bathroom.
Wi-Fi signal almost non-existent though we paid $9.95 per day for access. Toiletries could have been better considering that we were in a junior suite.
