very nice house very personal experience very friendly Close to town...
we liked it all
We felt very welcomed, comfortable, and at home. Breakfasts were awesome. Got excellent recommendations for places to eat, etc. Beautiful older home.
It was a bit warm when we were there, and there wasn't much cross ventilation to cool it off.
- very friendly staff - home cooked, fresh breakfast - very clean - comfortable bed - lot's of space in the room - parking on site
Friendly staff Open house Drinks, snacks complimentary Walking distance to Downtown Vancouver
Staff kindness and availability, B&B location, free parking availability, great breakfast.
Only remark is about a strong weird "perfume" that was pervading all the house and was not really 100% appreciable.
The staff was so friendly and the environment was very cozy. Location and breakfast were perfect and my room was so pretty.
The shower was tiny and my sheets made me itch. Both were fine but a little unnerving.
We booked at the last minute (the day prior to arrival) and we were very pleasantly surprised. O'Canada is a beautiful heritage listed house, full of charm. The staff, Danny, Suzanne and Fleur, were extremely friendly and welcoming, without being intrusive. The breakfasts (cooked by Danny) were terrific, as were the selection of (complimentary) cakes and biscuits. We were lucky to receive an upgrade and had the whole top floor of the house. We stayed there the last two nights of a month-long trip and it was a perfect end to a fabulous holiday. Would be happy to recommend.
The house has been restored carefully to reflect an earlier age of warmth and character - the effect of this is simply stunning. The welcome we received was warm and friendly, the breakfast simply superb. Overall, one of the most memorable places we stayed in during our holiday.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the property or staff.
It was homely, staff were welcoming and made it a relaxing experience. The beautiful old painted glass lights everywhere were delightful. It was great to have a lounge area to read the papers.
Nothing about O Canada. The weather was not great.
A quite oasis in the midst of a vibrant city.
Not much, if you accept the building built and furnished to the 1900's stile.
Close to town.
Having booked this because pets were not allowed we were shocked to find that the manager kept a dog in the kitchen.
Great friendly hoast , very helpful and informative
Everything, we just loved it!!!
Very personable service, a change from a big hotel.
Breakfast from Dan was amaazing. The location is perfect to visit Vancouver without car. Susanne is so friendly and Daisy so cute. We will come back.
The noise of the city (sirens, trash truck, etc), the old smell, the decorating/furnishings in the room
Great location, close to where we wanted to go. Staff were helpful when we needed advise on finding a restaurant or bike rental location. Food was great chef was a bonus to get to know as was the General Manager.
Fantastic location, staff treat you like family (family, where members like each other) small extras, like little chocolates, sherry, cookies, etc.always available. Large rooms, comfy bed with top quality linen. Very nice breakfast professionally made by Danny, an Aussie. Best BB we've ever been in.
Wifi didn't work in our room. ( But worked well in the lobby, etc)
The daily breakfast is awesome as is the whole team and the house itself! Thank you so much Danny, Susanne and Flora for this unforgettable days at the O' Canada House. It was more like visiting friends than staying at a B&B. We are already looking forward to our 2nd holidays in Canada maybe next year, and we will come again to your B&B (and then I will take more of these delicious cinnamon rolls ;-)
We wanted to move in! It was our 1st visit to Vancouver, & O Canada made our trip extra special. My husband had just done the Boston Marathon and this was a vacation to not think about running & simply just relax those sore muscles. So after seeing the pictures, I booked the Penthouse Suite because it seemed to serve the purpose for lounging around just in case he was too tired to come out. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Dan, the inkeeper. He showed us around & made us feel at home. He gave us great informations on where to dine, things to do, & sites to see. Dan is also the chef, and every morning we looked forward to coming down for breakfast. It was always a great surprise what he had under his sleeves. One morning we even had Frittata with crabmeat! Something you would see in the menu at luxury hotels, like the Four Seasons or the Ritz-Carlton. What an incredible way to start the day! Vancouver is beautiful and vibrant! The morning of our departure, the Sun Run was about to start with 50,000 runners. We will definitely be back to do that race someday. When we do, we'll stay at O Canada again & reserve the Penthouse suite (again). Dan (& the ladies), thank you so much for making our stay comfortable & enjoyable.
Flor warmly welcomed us upon our arrival. Our rooms were both en suite. The bathrooms aren't very big, but the room layout is comfortable with everything you need and more. They try to make this feel like home with plenty of books, dvds, even yoga bricks and resistance bands. We were unfortunately out early each morning and missed the breakfasts, but if Danny's baking was anything to go by I'm sure they'd be delectable. I enjoyed the afternoon sherry with homemade biscuits.
Really charming historical setting, comfortable room, lovely common areas, excellent breakfast (thanks Danny!) and good location,. Of course, Vancouver is an amazing city as well!
Outstanding innkeeper/chef and staff Outstanding location to downtown and activities Outstanding breakfast Outstanding facility Very comfortable
My 90 year old mother and I were so welcomed. Breakfasts were fabulous. I will be back and will/have recommended to friends.
Internet service not great.
Suzanne and Danny are superb hosts. Awesome location on Vancouver's doorstep. Will recommend highly.
