Wonderful breakfasts, great location - easy to walk to most places and on a quiet street, fantastic facilities and very well stocked 24hour pantry
We stayed in the back cottage, a nicely converted garage. Everything was perfect, although the matching teddy bears on the pillows each night was a bit much! Wonderful place to stay, excellent owner, staff and cook. Great advice for what to do in Vancouver. Many very good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance -- just a few blocks away. Easy walk down the hill to the inner harbor to catch the water taxis to Granville Island, Olympic Village, several good museums, etc.
Nothing we did not like. Great place to stay.
The location is excellent, in the middle of the centre but with little traffic noice. We stayed 2 nights and had a great sleep. The breakfast was delicious!
The building is beautiful.
Limited breakfast options. A dog in the dining area. Poor cooling in the cottage where we were located.
I liked that we felt welcomed and the delicious breakfast that was provided
I didn't like how much light came into the room from the windows made it hard to sleep
Breakfast even though we didn't really have a proper sit down one as we were always in a rush to places. The chef packed it for us and it was delicious. Thank you Susanne and everyone for making our stay in Vancouver so pleasant.
Water pressure of the shower was a little low. Rooms were a little musky. Maybe some retouch-up required.
Probably one of the best places I visited. It is an old house in the heart of Vancouver downtown (or westend actually), one of the few reamining between all the towers. The staff is amazing. They great you with a smile and giving you the feeling you're at home. Breakfast is unique, freshly made each day and always different and good. The room was very nice with old furniture for the atmosphere but the bathroom was 4 or 5 star level. And the price was also very good. I would certainly go there again if I ever return to Vancouver.
Oh my! I loved the ambiance, the chef, the Inn Keeper, the breakfast atmosphere and food and the furnishings! Not to mention the locality of this wonderful INN!
I didn't like when it was time to leave!
Chef is a delightful guy who is a wizard! Breakfast was outstanding! Our later arrival was easily accommodated too. The house is lovely and location is so close to everything downtown has to offer. Only neg was cottage as it was very warm and a bit noisy so would recommend inside main house.
Cottage sounded great and was delightful but when it came time to sleep it was quite warm and a little noisy at 2-4am, being near the back lane maybe? Would not deter me from returning to O Canada again!
Colonial house with lovely decor and pictures etc We arrived and departed at odd times which they accommodated so well. Lovely friendly staff Breakfasts to die for, worthy of entries inany good food guide. Bed so comfortable,Rooms large and luxurious.
Staff was wonderful...friendly, family like feel. Breakfast was great, food plenty and loved the 'open pantry' and afternoon sherry....relaxing!
Can't think of anything I didn't like!
Charm, friendly caretakers, great top floor suite, fantastic breakfast with homemade baked goods. Free parking! I would gladly stay here again. We loved our suite and just wish we could have stayed longer.
Staff is superfriendly, helpfull and has good advice for activities in and around town and recommandations for restaurants. Breakfast is delicious even as the fresh every day home mode sweets. Hospitality of this place is great. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable
Very helpful team - definitely went the extra mile to help us out and make sure we had a good stay. Great breakfasts!
Good quality B & B in a historical house. Excellent service with friendly and very helpful staff. A bolt hole of calm and luxury in the midst of a busy city. Daily freshly home baked cookies and cakes to help yourself too were just one of the nice touches. Varied and interesting breakfast menu which changed daily but the chef was also happy to accommodate individual requirements. Enjoyed sitting on the veranda having a glass of wine. The gardens at the front of the property provide privacy from the street outside. We loved the resident dog Daisy.
You have to expect that you will have some external noise as the property is in the city and the windows are not double glazed. We did hear some sirens and usual city noise but it was not so bad that it kept us awake. We love dogs so Daisy was a joy to us however this may not be the place for you if you have issues with dogs.
Homey Breakfast Friendly staff
Great welcome. Lovely house and room Breakfasts to die for Pantry where you can help yourself to drinks and homemade snacks.A sherry in the evening Close to Downtown and all amenities
The atmosphere and the other people staying.
Out room let in a bit too much light during the night.
From the friendly staff to the homely decor to the amazing breakfasts. Home from home. Close to everything. Highly recommend O Canada House.
That we could not have stayed longer!!
Bed and chairs were quite comfortable and we liked the privacy. But that came with a price because the cottage is right on the alley way and there is lots of noise especially in the morning. Loved having the pantry in the main Inn. When we came in late from a trip to Victoria it was good to grab a quick snack. The Inn made arrangements for our tour through Landsea Tours and that was very convenient and very appreciated. Location was perfect for walking down to the waterfront. Breakfast was great, too bad we had to leave so early for our tour that we missed the first one.
The bathroom really needs an update, at least fixtures need to be changed The portable AC was appreciated, but it is quite noisy. We tried to use the fans only but since there are no windows and the french doors do not have screens it got too stuffy in the cottage not to use the AC I was a bit confused about the clothing storage. It looks like there were plans to make a kitchenette or at one time there was a kitchenette,so there are built in kitchen type cabinets, but no real dresser drawers. There is no bedside table on one side of the bed and those of us who have glasses need a bedside table.
We liked everything about this bnb, so cute and so nice service. Thanks a lot! Will definitely consider staying there again if visisting Vancouver.
very nice house very personal experience very friendly Close to town...
we liked it all
We felt very welcomed, comfortable, and at home. Breakfasts were awesome. Got excellent recommendations for places to eat, etc. Beautiful older home.
It was a bit warm when we were there, and there wasn't much cross ventilation to cool it off.
- very friendly staff - home cooked, fresh breakfast - very clean - comfortable bed - lot's of space in the room - parking on site
