The room we got (after requiring and getting an upgrade for an addidtional $50) was large, beautiful and overlooked the falls. We booked a room described as "overlooking the courtyard." The room we were given was in an annex of this luxury hotel, probably 40 years older than the main building, and the room overlooked the parking lot. The room was dingy, the furniture old and the carpet stained. I would expect a room like this to go for $49, not the amount we were being charged. We asked for another room, and were offered an upgrade for $50 more in the main building. The new room was lovely, but we didn't feel great about the entire experience.

We had a very spacious suite with a large renovated bathroom. Even though the hotel is non-smoking there was a lingering odor in the room. The blanket had burn holes in it. View?? What view? We were on the 6th floor and maybe there was a view at one time, but.....surprise.... Trees do grow. Yes we had a view up the Niagara river. If you park your car at the rear of the hotel you will have to haul your luggage up a number of steps and navigate through 2 doors. They want you to park at the front and unload your car and then drive to the back to park. Incidentally we had another surprise when checking out and that was $ 15.00/Day for parking.Never again!!!!

good location. Could see the falls from our room. Beds too hard, not even, one side more worn than the other. Shower didn't work properly. More water came out of tub faucet than the shower head. Bathroom VERY small.

Excellent location right in the heart of the falls area and right above the Canadian Horseshoe section of the falls, and the rail that takes you straight to the main viewing area and the entrance to behind the falls. A 2 minute walk to the casino and a shuttle service to Remingtons a restaurant at the falls with a great view. The hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool and a tourist desk onsite, that will arrange various tours for you. I was in a premier King suite which was huge in size, although quite dated in decor. The hotel is basic, simple and clean, it is the location that makes it. There was no mini bar, whilst wifi was promised there was no access from my room (I heard loads of folk complaining about this, as you are charged for it) and no hotel restaurant although there is an applebees right next door that will deliver (I ordered one night after a long day and sadly my food arrived cold) .. The staff did not really go out of their way to be helpful, and I found them slightly lazy .. I asked about restaurants, they just passed on brochures, I asked about transfers to Toronto aiport and they just passed on phone numbers, I asked about tours and the just pointed to the desk (the gent was not there) ...my tray from applebees sat outside my room for two days ...(exception was the bellman when I was leaving, who was a gem)... If you are after a basic hotel close to the falls then this is good value, however the service is sadly lacking.

The fallsview-- I thought the way the staff at the front desk when checking in were very poorly trained--no class-- The rooms are in terrible shape--old TV--not worth the money. Very disappointed.

My daughter and l really enjoyed our stay at the Oaks. We liked that it was walking distance to everything. Parking was 20.00 a day, but l liked that having the falls view we were able to see our car from our window. Very important to myself, lol. If you wish to there is parking right next door for $5.00. Our view was on the 4th floor facing the falls, you may wish to ask for higher floor, we did not have a good view of the falls. As l said once you left the Hotel, the falls was right there infront of you. The Casino was next door. Easy access. We would have stayed a second night, but it was booked.

I think the hotel is in need of renovations as the carpets and ceramic tiles need replacing as we were on the second floor the trees and shrubs were over growing the windows blocking any view we would have had.

The Oak Hotel is ok! It's nothing fancy but the rooms were clean, the price was right, and the falls side view was pretty good as long as your on the 7th or 8th floor. Anything bellow the 7th floor and your looking at trees. To get to the falls you need either pay $2.50/per person to take the rail cart which is just outside the hotel or walk around to a side street about 5 to 10 minutes to get to the base of the Falls. The Fallsview Casino is a 3 minute walk. All day breakfast across the street $6.95/person; they get you when you order your drink $, but the food selection was ok the food taste/quality was great. Going to the Old Niagara Casino is 20 minute walk. Overall for the rates compared to the other hotels... I stay again for a night or two as the hotel had everything I needed. The fitness center consist of 2 treadmills. The toilet flushing system is loud as you hear all of the rooms flush there toilets in the morning, not good if your trying to sleep in. The parking lot is always full at night but will get a spot you may just need to walk a little further.Overall nothing to deter me from staying there again.

The location is very good. The view from the upper floors is nice. Services were not up to the standard 3 star plus hotel. some rooms were nice but we had to move 3 times! 2 of the rooms were not good at all. The 1st & 2nd floor is more like a 1 star hotel. 2 of the rooms smelled like smoke.

It was a good sized room and the jacuzzi looked like it was kept clean. The bathroom looked like it was maintained well. I didn't like that the room wasn't cleaned daily. I was also expecting a little more.

Close to popular restaurants I was put on the 2nd floor of the hotel Rm 220, I was not able to see much of the falls or the fireworks with my 3 kids, the hotel staff should try staying there with their families (2nd floor) to experience the view( I did have a spectacular view of the parking lot) when they say fallside they don't mean falls view from all the rooms

I liked the location of the hotel because it has one of the best views of the Falls. We booked a Fallsview Suite and got the lowest floor possible and wasn't able to see 100% of the falls. We were only able to see about 50% of the falls.

The beauitful view of Niagara Falls. Well I booked three suites with falls views and requested the 8th floor. I called twice prior to the 30th to make sure that they had that note on our file for the 8th floor. The day we were to go we called at 1:30 to see if they could guarantee use the rooms on the 8th floor and they told us we had to be there to get those rooms so we drove from Fort Erie to Niagara Falls to book the rooms in person. When we arrived the girl at the desk told us they had no rooms on the 8th floor and never did so we drove there for nothing. Apparental they only have two suites on each floor which no one had told use. We ened up on the 4th, 5th, 6th floors. Then had to drive back to Fort Erie because we were attending a get together that afternoon so we missed part of it to drive to the Falls for no reason. I just think the people at the desk should be more truthful it would have haved use a lot to trouble.

It was close to the Keg for dinner. Nice view of the falls. Within walking distance to Fallsview Casino. Did not have to drive the car anywhere. Everything we wanted was within walking distance. We were given a room that did not meet the description of the room I had booked. When I went to the front desk to ask if this was a cheaper room they gave me another which was much better and fit the description of the room that was booked.
