This is not a hotel. It is a building that has self catering apartments,
with cards to access your units like a hotel. The only thing that has
anything to do with any hotel is the key to open your door. Really
nothing else. I was coming from Edmonton where I was staying at Home2 by
Hilton. That was also self catering apartment, and 2 stars, and a hotel.
Way much better than this claimed "3 stars luxury hotel" Shame
on them.. I didn't like the fact that this so called
"hotel" has no one to talk to after 5:00 pm. Those who are
available before 5:00 are so unprofessional and did make a lot of
mistakes. Starting with the parking, I paid for the parking , and they
told me to park in stall 7. I was then asked by a lady if I should park
there because that stall was allocated to them. She showed me the
confirmation on that which was similar to mine. Next day, I received an
email asking me to park in stall 5. I parked there, and one day, I
arrived around 3:00 pm to find a green van parked in my place. We went
in to inform, and we were told that that van belong to them, and they
just want to offload stuff and leave. The van left after few minutes.
The next day, I arrived after 5:00 to find the same green van parked in
my place. Since I had no one to talk to face to face, I called the
number we were given to call for help after 5:00. a guy whose name was
Anthony answered me to tell me that he is only available to help in
cases of emergency, such as fire or life threatening situations. I had
to park the car on the street that day, and the next day morning, I
asked the lady in the office to remove the van. The same day, we called
the same guy as our keys were not working, and we couldn't access.
He guided us on the phone to a safe where there is a master key to help
us accessing our unit. I do not want to stay in place where anyone can
access my unit. That was the craziest thing I could ever imagine to
happen in any hotel. I stayed there one week.
I liked the location and disliked it too. I liked the fact that it is
central, walking distance to Downtown, and one block from the 17th ave.
I didn't like about the location the neighbourhood of it. It is a
very law class, and doesn't give you the feel of safety. However,
Calgary is safe in general.
