Location Clean room Comfy bed Onsite restaurant
-no hairdryer -no coffee maker -no dresser -very small desk - fit laptop but not much more -small room; ok for 1 person only
Richard extremely friendly and helpful working out how to find my way around. Restaurant constantly smells of greasy food tho. I would suggest more attention to detail could be advised but it was comfortable. Quite good value and excellent location. Wifi was brilliant.
Restaurant smelled greasy.
It's a funky hotel in a good location.
The sockets in the room didn't work, quite a few steps to negotiate into the hotel, very difficult with heavy bags.
Small and personal at a great location. Good room and very good restaurant and bar.
We were upgraded to the hotel's best room upon check-in. It was amazing, with giant windows, tons of light and a really eclectic modern feel. Shower had good water pressure and we had a very relaxing night's sleep. We were able to store luggage after checking out.
We called to complain about sheets that had wet green chlorine-smelling stains. These were promptly changed, though every employee made it seem like our complaint was trivial. Also there was rubbish on the shower floor I had to clear away.
Location,, stylish, quiet, comfortable
All was good. Perhaps tea/coffee making in room would be good and fluffy bath towels. The ones provided were a bit thin and worn. Other wise we really loved this place and will recommend.
I really liked my room the comfy bed, the cleanliness, the awesome shower, good wifi and choice of TV stations. The staff were actually really helpful especially Jamal who showed me a bunch of places to eat at.
There was not a very good first impression of the hotel wasn't very good. When I arrived there was a sign on the door saying the hotel was closed due to a private function. Once I enquired I found that it was actually open but the restaurant was not, as a solo traveller that had been in transit for 10+ hours all I wanted was to eat then sleep. Instead I had to venture out and return via the service entrance which was basically just a stairwell / store room... not what you want as a paying guest.
great location, amazing environment, cozy rooms, helpful staff
The funkiness of the place; the staff are wonderful. Being able to go downstairs for supper in a cool little restaurant. Dark Horse Cafe steps away for AM coffee.
Nothing - I liked it very much. The rooms are small - but ideal for the solo traveller.
Amazing place, nice interior.
Breakfast not too interesting
Gorgeous room with very unique architecture. I love this place.
The elevator door opened into a wedding party in the middle of their speeches! More funny then anything.
Great location. Nice rooms. Friendly staff.
Initial room had toxic smell and we had to switch rooms. After hours access had only stairs, no elevator to rooms. Private event in restaurant/bar area kept guest from using the restaurant/bar area during Saturday afternoon and evening. Toilet was dirty under the bowl area.
-Very friendly staff -Excellent location -Zero problems with internet in the hotel. -Business saavy: On one occasion we were upgraded free to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise. -Cocktails in the bar are excellent and reasonably priced for the neighbourhood. -The hotel showed zero signs of bedbugs (a relatively common problem for even the pricey Toronto hotels,) and this is backed up by zero mentions on Toronto's bedbug registry online (always a relief.) -The bathrooms are spacious and well designed with rainfall showers. (the separate bathtub in the suite was huge and this made for a relaxing soak.) -Toiletries offered are of nice quality (and smell good.)
-In general more attention could be paid to making sure the rooms are well cleaned. Though the shower/tubs are well scrubbed, on two stays we noted the bathroom floor was not completely cleaned (both times.) On one stay a bathroom wall had a strange round blackish patch in the grout which seemed it might be the beginnings of mould. I'd say as well that the hotel should lose the carpet in the bedrooms and replace with wood floors when they've got the chance too, as they seem a little dingy (from wear, I assume.) -A little more lighting in the room for when the blinds are closed (either electric lighting or by changing the blinds to offer a screen-blind that allows some light through but still offers privacy) would be nice. -All this is said, we'd still probably choose Ocho next time we're in Toronto. -Being of female persuasion... it would be very nice to have conditioner offered alongside the bodywash and shampoo as part of the complimentary toiletries.
Modern style. Close to the theatre we had tickets to. Close to restaurants and patio bar.
Server at dinner shouldn't begin with an apology that this is her first solo shift, For so few people in the dining room on a Sunday night, service was very slow, Dirty dishes put out for breakfast, towels in the room were stained, No coffee maker or iron in the room,
A comfortable chair. A usb power out for cell phone maybe a small power bar or an extra ac outlet for computer.
Rich, who checked me in was very pleasant and welcoming!
Staff were extremely accomodating, looking after parcels for me delivered to the hotel before my work conference. The rooms were stylish, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Ocho to anyone travelling to Toronto
The air con units were very loud but was pleased they worked as it was very cold outside. Also, the complimentary toiletries could have been replenished.
The bathtub was amazing as well as the layout of the room.
No room service.
in the heart of toronto
The room was very small but very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely
The wifi was terrible. Youtube wouldn't even load
Hotel has trendy resto & rooms, good value for the money.
only had basic cable and small flat screens.
Nice hipster design.
Had one terrible night at Ocho. The heater in the room was too loud to sleep. Had to switch the heater in the hallway off in the middle of the night because of the noise. After that I noticed that the loudest noise actually came from the mechanical room. Two walls seperated the tractor-like rumble and my bed. I took the room because it said "SOUNDPROOFING" on the website. Whoever made that up never slept there. Ridiculous.
The rooms were comfortable.
Accessibility was poor as there was no elevator access at night and entering the building after midnight was through a separate staircase. Reception was closed after midnight and not available at all hours. There was lots of maintenance stuff out in the public use staircase on each level.
Friendly staff, location location location, the restaurant just downstair and the design of the rooms. AMAZING stay. Would come back anytime.
No door seperating the toilet and the rest of the room. You can watch TV while sitting on the toilet.
