Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking to the falls/attractions.
Shower didn't drain very well, they were doing reno's though. So probably fixed now.
the entrance was beautiful
the location is across the street from a night club We were on the main floor across from it we heard constant thumping all night The spot light came directly into the room There was no hot water There was broken glass in the bed & no control of temperature you were freezing or sweating absolutely nothing in between
Restaurant has great food. The bar is comfortable with a cozy fireplace. Hotel, overall, has a rustic and warm atmosphere.
Noisy hallway, due to loud guests and banging doors. Great pool, but it could have used a hot tub.
room was large and comfortable
noise from room beside us was quite loud - mainly the bathtub running and the heater in bedroom was running on and off all night long
Clean, nice furnishings. Good food.
Fireplaces being rep[laced and some not working. Pool cold in morning.
Charming quiet place to relax great location
Was poorly cleaned , dirty Kleenex on the ground blood on one of the towels dusty . No robes or slippers like stated & fireplace didnt work
Large room nicely furnished. Close to everything. Nice bathroom and nice jacuzzi .
Long walk to elevator, had to go through three door and and two long halls to get to it from the desk. Our room on the third floor was down two halls and three doors. On getting into room it was cold 62 F. Heat was turned off,had to turn on controls for each radiator (the thermostat don't work). Took most of the night to get to 69f. This in a two room suite. The room had a fireplace that didn't work (one of the reasons for booking this suite). Told by the desk that all the fireplaces were off for service. (Should be told this on booking). Can only get into to the place by the front doors. If one is into jogging then this is a good hotel for you. Should change their name to the old ice house.
My husband and I celebrated our. Honeymoon. We enjoyed every second. From the decor cleanliness n especially the service. We will be returning very. Soon. Thank you
Hated having to pay for hotel service fee of 4.99 a day and 12.99 parking daily. Just add this to the price of the hotel. Hate thinking you know the price and then having extra hidden cost
The hostess /waitress in the restaurant was excellent, food was too
First of all the Girl on reception needs a lesson in manners and courtesy, I felt like she thought she was doing me a favour, paid a premium for a suite with a fireplace , it didn't work. called reception, was told we are having a problem with the gas, TV reception is totally brutal obvious not digital or HD but analog.... the rooms were beautiful , but its the little things that let it down
the distance to everything
would have liked a coffeemaker in the room or hotwater kettle
I did not like that there was an additional facility fee to use the pool and have coffee and tea...when we did not use either.
Pillows were too puffy big bad on neck
Deal it was a great place but you need to ask to be on the old side and there's often grpupons and living social deals which brings the rates down substantially
They did not have room with fireplace that we resreved - font desk gave us a nice bottle of wine to make it up to us.
A charge of $14 a day for parking
Support, attitude and energy from staff was exceptional. Nice place to stay with excellent restaurant, wine, food and ambiance. Good experience overall.
If you are not lucky or book the room though booking.com you will get the worst room there
Too many hidden charges, for the Inn, along with Niagara tourist tax etc. A total of $44 in taxes and user fees added to our bill upon checking out. Only in Ontario!!!!!!!!
Instead of boarding our dogs we found a place that took them and it worked out great. Upon arrival we had room service appetizers and a drink, pricey at over $75 but room was lovely and after a few hours at casino, we had relaxing night in room. Only surprise was $58 charge at check out for dogs which was our own fault as we hadn't asked at on-line booking and we knew about parking fee so were fine there. Would recommend this place to anyone, whether travelling with pets or not.
Couldn't access outside side doors other than from inside so had to prop door open to take dogs out.
The hotel had a unique feel to it that gave it beauty. The rooms were not your generic, cookie cutter hotel rooms and neither were the grounds.
We could hear our neighbors next door fairly clearly, and they were not being rude or speaking too loudly. The restaurant was overpriced for the quality and the advertising of the restaurant (for instance the ad in the elevator for the main restaurant showing Small Plates available when they are only available in the Lounge). Kayak lists them as having room service and we were told this was not true, but if they were "not busy" they could run us up a plate if we asked - from the overpriced restaurant menu only. The "lounge" and "bar" are neither - they serve alcohol and have a few chairs set around coffee tables where you can sit in the "lounge." The wifi is advertised as high speed, but it is far from it. We were lucky when we had signal, so I'm glad that it was free. And if hearing the neighbors wasn't enough, we looked out onto a night club whose music was clearly heard through closed windows while the TV was on. Although they do offer TV, most of the channels were fuzzy despite perfect weather. We chose to leave early as this was not the relaxing anniversary weekend we had planned.
Was only a short walk from Clifton hill attractions, has club 7 across the street, and was very clean and nice in our room.
Only inconvience was the number of doorways and hallways to get to your room and not wheelchair accessible
Relaxed atmosphere Accommodating staff, Elegant room, Perfectly cooked food,
I reserved a room with a fireplace, and got it, but it wasn't operational. It would have nice to have been told about that during my confirmation call, especially when I told them I was a former worker there. I wanted the room for a romantic evening. Even when we went to the dining room for dinner, the table I had reserved was also by an unlit fire. We noticed the fireplace in the lounge was going and that disappointing to see.
comfort and quality of the room...close proximity to the falls...awesome staff... quaint/historic appearance of the building itself...just enjoyed the entire experience of our stay
a small bar fridge would have been nice..
Not much really. Maybe the location and the heated pool??
We were sent to the basement, didn't get the room we wanted, got a room with two double beds, the room was freezing, room was beside the pool which made it impossible for my baby to nap, Front desk didn't know the wifi password, staff was rude, cockroaches & centipedes, the room was more expensive than we thought. Paid way too much for a 2 star hotel. Do not stay here!!!
We decided to rent a room at the Old Stone Inn because the the aff stated the room had a fireplace but when we asked if we could get it turned on they said no. I was not impressed! We would have booked somewhere else.
Bed is confortable. Bathroom is clean
Noise, noise, noise : Doors slamming shut constantly, water pipes super loud, no isolaiton of doors, cleaning staff chatting and waking up people trying to sleep at 8am. Way to expensive for what you actually get. No coffee machin or fridge in room...and only one person at check-out, so waiting 30 minutes just to pay and leave !
