The stuff was great, really kind and helpful and willing to solve any issue. Room was clean and nice with great balcony and great atmosphere. Food quality at the restaurant was great, chef grade.
The size of the dishes was really small especially since the price was high.
We had a room in a 4-room cottage each with a bedroom, a bathroom and a small entrance / sitting area (with a small fridge). One of the rooms also had a deck looking over the trees toward the main road with some deck chairs. The beds were really comfortable and we did not have any trouble with noise from the main road (this was over a long weekend) or from the neighbouring rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful when asked about facilities, etc.
The rooms were rather pricey, but in line with other hotels in the area. We did not try the dinner or breakfast as the prices looked quite steep. We were hoping to go for an evening walk, but did not find a suitable walk close-by.
The price was rather high
The surroundings were nice. In the middle of trees and mountains, but much too far (60 kilometers) from Jasper town.
What a disappointment this turned out to be! Absolutely no value for money. The rooms were'nt even basicly equipped: no fridge, no airco, no tv and breakfast was not included (which is unconvenient because the nearest town is 24 kilometers away) The staff was not very friendly or helpfull. We do not recommend anybody to stay here. We learned that there are much better (and cheaper) accommodations in the direct surroundings of Jasper.
The views were great, and it was quiet. The staff in the restaurant and front desk were very nice, and courteous, and helpful. The grounds were well maintained and clean.
It was too far removed from Jasper, the menu was too high end and very expensive. Although it did advertise it, there should have been TV's and internet in the rooms. Housekeeping was not very good. You should get fresh bedding everyday, and unless you mentioned it, you didn't get it. The tile floors in the bath and dressing area were not scrubbed everyday, which is essential. The rooms were adequate, but Maid service was not...the floors were not maintained. There were pieces of lint in various places when we came, and they were still there when we left...we stayed 3 nights. Over all...we will not return, and would not recommend to others.
the food was good but overpriced. we had better value everywhere else we went in Canada. the surroundings were beautiful, and would have been fine if you had wanted a quiet restful few days away from it all.
we had no idea from their website that when it gave the address as jasper it was actually a 45 minute drive east of jasper. we would not have chosen it had we known that. the Overlander is in the middle of nowhere!
Pleasant staff, well decorated room, lovely surroundings.
Price was steep for standard room.
Enchanting, quiet location. Beautiful accomodations, friendly staff, nice and clean.
View Dinner was excellent Great terrace and outdoor area Wifi works fine if you connect at reception initially
Breakfast was poor
Beautiful area and main office area
No air conditioning. Breakfast and dining very expensive.
The food was great, we had 2 breakfast and 1 dinner. Staff is very helpful and friendly. No TV was perfect. When for a walk the first night, beautiful log houses.
It is too far to drive from jasper on a daily base. There is nothing to do, so we booked in Jasper massages and than you stay automaticly for dinner too. A hot tub at least would be great.
Loved the relaxed atmosphere
Later checkout would be nice
Great view excellent location
Room was dirty Brought wrong bottle of wine Pastry was undercooked Steak overdone
The rooms were comfortable though showing their age in terms of decor. The view was probably good but we couldn't experience it because of smoky conditions due to forest fires (which was, of course, not the lodge's fault).
The noise of trucks from the nearby major highway was obtrusive. The price per room was excessive given the amenities. No breakfast was included in the price. If the rooms were half the cost this would be a good place to stay.
Nice pleasant location with friendly staff
too far away from everything food was good, but way over priced food did not fit with the décor of the restaurant expected it to have more home cooking
Spend time talking to each other and family bonding .
No TV..no Wifi but its good since we end up talking to each other
My sister and I were booked to stay at the Overlander in July. Earlier that month we stayed at the Overlander and liked it so much that we chose to return. The restaurant food was delicious and staff friendly. The Lodge is beautiful with great landscaping, arcetecture and views. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our 2nd booking with only 1/2 day notice. This was because forest fires prevented us from traveling to the lodge. The manager graciously told us that we would not be charged for the same day cancelation. We really appreciated her kindness and understanding!
Everything , it was a fantastic stay with a very good and kindly staff ! Food in the restaurant was very good and wine excellent. We can recommanded this lodge to everybody, just go . It 's a good location to see Jasper
Floor is so dirty, no microwave at cabin, fan is too small hard to sleep at night summer
Very nice location.
Close to train tracks that noisy all day/night. Far from Jasper with over-priced restaurant - $12.95/person for cereal, fruits, and a cup of coffee for all you can eat breakfast is too pricey. Better ride 30 minutes to Jasper and start your excursion early on
The place had a beautiful location and the dinning room was excellent. The staff was very helpful when we couldn't get our door open.
It was too far from Jasper
Excellent fine dinning restaurant although a little pricey, we had an excellent meal on the first night. Facilities were good, clean and well maintained. Friendly & Helpful staff who went out of their way to help
The lodge is isolated and a little far out from Jasper (35 minutes by car) and just out of the National park. However we enjoyed our stay.
Amazing views, just outside the national park. If booking to be near to Jasper, this hotel is a good 50 mins drive away. We had an exceptional dinner in the restaurant - not cheap but the food was great and views made it very much worthwhile. Accommodation in the main building was better than the Miettes cabins. We switched from one to the other part way through our stay as the cabins were noisey (paper thin walls), and our neighbour seems content sit outside and allow their smoke to drift in to our room until 2 am!
Overall nice location and amazing restaurant - accommodation wasn't up to much though especially given the high summer / weekend rates we paid
