We stayed in new cabin at Jasper Gates. Ver nice
I was allergic to older cabins so the hostess was gracious and changed our accommodation to the new cabin. Very much appreciated.
that we did not have more time to explore the area
The beds were OK.
The "superior" room turned out to be a 60 year old cabin that had a very musty smell. The bathroom was anything but superior. Moreover, the food in their restaurant is overpriced.
View from balcony, great food
Quiet location, large rooms
Further than Jasper than expected
Location was appealing
Overprice for size of rooms Breakfast buffet overpriced for what was offered
Staff made every effort to accommodate any concerns we may have had.
Breakfast - considering the restaurant rating, we were disappointed at the standard of the breakfast provided, given the high price. In saying that, when we made our concerns known, the staff were willing to make every effort to compensate.
location is fair, friendly front desk staff and bartender
no internet, no TV, small rooms, terrible sound isolation; expensive for what it offers.
The odor in the room was overpowering, our clothes smelled like mold for days. The walls were paper thin, we had a family with a dog in the next room over, we could hear every bark, every snore, every whisper. And while the setting was nice, it was so close to the highway you could hear the trucks roaring by.
Too far from Jasper hikes and highlights
Close to Jasper
No visible signe for entrance from Highway, especially at night.
The space was really inviting. It was very clean. Informative and friendly staff. Nice and close to the hot-springs.
Breakfast buffet was nice but a bit pricey for the value of what was offered. The view was great, but the hard-rock music being played took away from the possible peace of mind one would look for in a morning meal in the mountains.
* Very accommodating staff * Magnificent setting
Lack of reasonably priced food service
It is a very romantic spot, beautiful lodges and views. Food was excellent. Map of the local area for walking would of been useful
Kids disappointed no internet or TV in lodge. Had to sit in main reception for Internet. We were unlucky with the weather and there wasn't a lot to do in the rain. 45 minutes away from Jasper
The view. The lodge. The big deck. The rustic feel. The mountain air.
Lack of air conditioning or a fan. Continental breakfast could have included a protein, like boiled eggs, especially for that cost. Not clear enough on the advertising, the distance away from Jasper.
The stuff was great, really kind and helpful and willing to solve any issue. Room was clean and nice with great balcony and great atmosphere. Food quality at the restaurant was great, chef grade.
The size of the dishes was really small especially since the price was high.
We had a room in a 4-room cottage each with a bedroom, a bathroom and a small entrance / sitting area (with a small fridge). One of the rooms also had a deck looking over the trees toward the main road with some deck chairs. The beds were really comfortable and we did not have any trouble with noise from the main road (this was over a long weekend) or from the neighbouring rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful when asked about facilities, etc.
The rooms were rather pricey, but in line with other hotels in the area. We did not try the dinner or breakfast as the prices looked quite steep. We were hoping to go for an evening walk, but did not find a suitable walk close-by.
The price was rather high
The surroundings were nice. In the middle of trees and mountains, but much too far (60 kilometers) from Jasper town.
What a disappointment this turned out to be! Absolutely no value for money. The rooms were'nt even basicly equipped: no fridge, no airco, no tv and breakfast was not included (which is unconvenient because the nearest town is 24 kilometers away) The staff was not very friendly or helpfull. We do not recommend anybody to stay here. We learned that there are much better (and cheaper) accommodations in the direct surroundings of Jasper.
The views were great, and it was quiet. The staff in the restaurant and front desk were very nice, and courteous, and helpful. The grounds were well maintained and clean.
It was too far removed from Jasper, the menu was too high end and very expensive. Although it did advertise it, there should have been TV's and internet in the rooms. Housekeeping was not very good. You should get fresh bedding everyday, and unless you mentioned it, you didn't get it. The tile floors in the bath and dressing area were not scrubbed everyday, which is essential. The rooms were adequate, but Maid service was not...the floors were not maintained. There were pieces of lint in various places when we came, and they were still there when we left...we stayed 3 nights. Over all...we will not return, and would not recommend to others.
the food was good but overpriced. we had better value everywhere else we went in Canada. the surroundings were beautiful, and would have been fine if you had wanted a quiet restful few days away from it all.
we had no idea from their website that when it gave the address as jasper it was actually a 45 minute drive east of jasper. we would not have chosen it had we known that. the Overlander is in the middle of nowhere!
Pleasant staff, well decorated room, lovely surroundings.
Price was steep for standard room.
Enchanting, quiet location. Beautiful accomodations, friendly staff, nice and clean.
View Dinner was excellent Great terrace and outdoor area Wifi works fine if you connect at reception initially
Breakfast was poor
