First, pay the extra few dollars and get a view, because it is amazing. Simply one of the best views in the city. The room was comfortable, and the hotel staff were excellent. They were extremely helpful with the broken car window. It is an easy walk to the skytrain to downtown. While it was pricey, it seems all the hotels in Vancouver are that way. I would come back again and stay here, but maybe without a car. The parking garage. It is not the safest place to park a car, as I had a window broken on the rental car, and this can happen to anyone. There wasn't anything in the car except an empty soda bottle. If you choose to park a car here, make sure you take absolutely everything out of the back seats and do not leave anything in sight.

The hotel is located in a safe, relatively upscale neighborhood (Fairview Slopes) with easy access to downtown Vancouver (5 minute walk to the underground - 2 train stops to trendy Yaletown, 3 stops to centre of town. If one was so inclined it is about a 20 or 25 minute leisuely walk to downtown over the Cambie Street bridge (15 minute walk to the football stadium or Canucks arena over the same bridge. Also a mere 10 minute walk to Granville Island. When booking ask for a room facing Broadway for a view of the city and mountains. Unfortunately I did not and the room I had was facing onto the parking lot - nice large room, no complaints there but a room with a city view would have been better.

Close location to medical appointment. The general appearance of the average clientele there. The rundown room. The smell of marijuana in the hallway upon arrival.

Everything was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, the location is easy to find and off-street parking is a plus. We have a handicapped parking sticker, so we could use the parking space only a few feet from the front desk, and somebody was always there so security was not an issue. Our room was on the fifth floor, with a very nice city view. We'll be back!

We were surprised to get such a great hotel for such a great price. The hotel was clean, the staff were pleasant, and the decor was current. Also free wireless internet!! We loved the location - very central and only 4 blocks from the train giving you direct access to the airport. It was on Laurel and Broadway and Laurel has a beautiful pedestrian overpass to the seawall/Granville Island - it was a great walk.

we had an appt. at VGH for my elderly mother and the location was excellent and easy to get to. I don't have a mobile internet device and didn't want to pay $3.00 to use the lobby computer. We are "country folk" and thought the parking would be included in the room rate.

King bed was quite comfortable. Room seemed newly reno'd. Location very good for Cancer Centre. Hotel cafe was not very welcoming -- looked bare and uncomfortable so we did not eat there.

The complimentary bottled water in the rooms, and the fruit bowl at the front desk (I don't mean the front desk staff members). I would like to be able to book a room for my son, who will be making regular stays, with my credit card without having to fax a copy of it when you already have it on record. We do not have to do that at other hotels that we stay at on a regular basis. Thank you.

It was on a main road and the best thing when we arrived was there was a Tim Hortons across from the hotel. We stayed on the first floor and the hall way had a weird smell, but the room did not they which was a really good thing. It could have been because dogs are allowed on that floor and an accident happen :)

The beds were comfortable for my sister and me. I liked the chairs and table, the micorwave and the strong shower flow I asked for extra pillows but there were none. I didn't like that people were smoking on our floor (pot and tobacco) when we understood it to be a smoke free hotel. The curtains did not entirely cover the window, so there was a fairly large amount of light in the room from outside.

Staff were the only good thing. Really far from the airport, loud, my children described it as a dive and didn't even want to sleep on the beds.

I booked a room with a view and the view of downtown Vancouver was magnificent, worth every penny. The stuff was very nice and helpful when needed. The only downside was that you could hear all the street noise, I.E. busses and traffic lights (yes, traffic lights make noise in Vancouver). So if you are a light sleeper you should avoid the view.

It was close to the hospital where my mother is recovering from a heart attack. The wireless internet in my room (508) was weak and unusable part of the time.

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff, on desk, on rooms, and in restaurant I can clearly say that there were only two things.......the lighting for the coffee machine/microwaive area is not working to light that area at all as there is none. The restaurant is very very chilly in the evenings and I suggest an electric or gas wall heater for both decor and efficient heat to help customers weather the temperature. I requested our food on a tray as could not bear to even sit while waiting for the meal to arrive. The washrooms were were warmly heated, but not the restaurant and WINTER is almost upon us.
