Canmore is a great little town right in the heart of the rockies. It is very close to Banff, without the cost of staying right in Banff. It is close to many outdoor activities for both summer and winter. Both Lake Louise and Sunshine Village ski resorts are within an hour. There are lots of hiking opportunities with some even starting in town. We have enjoyed many of the local restaurants, and there is a lot of variety to please any palate. While it can sometimes get busy, it is easy to get around and easily walkable for most people.

It is a lovely town with world-class views of the rocky almost on your doorstep on both sides. It's not as busy or touristy as Banff and it has some wonderful shops. It has two supermarkets both offering a massive choice of goods, and plenty of restaurants. There is the Nordic Centre which is brilliant for hiking in summer and cross-country trails in winter. I could easily live there. The only downside is that it is expensive, as is Canada in general.

I'm not sure what there is to do in Canmore, been there may times and never once done anything worth remembering. I've heard there are caves and great hiking trails. Unfortunately nothing is well marked and haven't stumbled across them yet.

Canmore is a great historic town with its own main street.
Canmore is a great historic town with its own main street. Many great places to shop or eat. Special mentionings: coffee, eclipse coffee roasters and special of the day, The Canmore Hotel Hostel.
Also many nice shops for souvenirs or other
Many nice trials and great views to the mountains. Do not forget to visit the Canmore Engine Bridge or one of the museums.

It is always such welcoming town, we love how the restaurants try to support local as much as possible, and we absolutely love the locals there and talking with them and finding fun facts out from them about the town and the hidden gems for hikes and things to do

Close enough to Banff that spending the day in Banff is an option. When Banff feels too busy and congested. Canmore is a great escape. The locals are engaging and helpful. Canmore is a town I frequent as I live in Calgary but every once in a while I spend the night in Canmore as a little escape. The MTN House is a great clean modern spot to stay. It provides a great view of the mountains as well as the town lights at night. Loved it
The hotel is located in such a nice scenic town of Canmore. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Love the soap/shampoo dispensers. The full kitchen was awesome! We have all the cookware, dinnerware and utensils needed to make a full steak dinner! Room was spacious and fit 4 people well. I also love that they have laundry machines with tide pods available for guests. There is one spot of free parking for each unit. Checking was done all contactless via a code sent through email. Wi-Fi was great. The hot tub at the roof was a good bonus.
we love how clean and spacious the unit is. the neighborhood is pretty and well-kept. The check-in process was seamless and the underground parking was clean and an easy walk to the unit. great communication from the owner. I only wish Canmore is closer to Banff National Park. it was a bit drive to the scenic spots everyday. this is a perfect choice if you plan to enjoy Canmore vicinity. we enjoyed our vacation very much and will be back. I would choose this unit again coming back to Canmore.
The breakfast had enough of a variety to satisfy many tastes. The hotel was easy to access right off the major highway in Canmore and close enough to other amenities (grocery stores etc). Room was sufficient in size to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids plus tons of luggage. Absolutely loved the Rocky Mountain soap products in the bathroom which was a great way to support a local business. We ended up visiting the Rocky Mountain store in town after checking out.
Good location a little bit outside of Canmore but still very close to downtown area. Around 20-30 Minutes walk.
The room we got for two queensize bed was quite big. Even though it was right next to the elevator, we could not hear anything from the lift.
The Hotel did not offer a regular breakfast but a kind of breakfast to go for just 5$. It was a very good value and enough for us to start into the day.
First time on a RV, it was a great experience. Nice and clean RV. Well equipped. Everything inside RV was neat and clean but the bedding. However considering it's not a hotel and more like a luxurious camping experience, it was good enough. Easy excess to all the shops in Canmore and Banff.
Overall experience was great! Willing to come back with my other friends or family.
Good location especially if taking the bus and not driving. About 15 minute walk to downtown Canmore. Had a small kitchenette to fill up water and a fridge in the room. Good hotel if you’re just using the place as a base to sleep and not looking for many amenities/ luxury.
It was the cheapest hotel we could find in Canmore, standard motel rooms but clean and comfy. Our kids enjoyed the playground and hot tub, which we had to ourselves both times we used it. There's even a great view of the mountains from our window in the morning.
Beautiful view. We had so much fun taking photos. Everything in this place is very satisfying. We had a bonus free BBQ's on Canada Day ; ) Pricy but worth it.. A little scary to walk outside in the evening, if there's just some lights outside that would help.
It’s our second stay in a little over a week and the front desk staff remembered us! That was a surprise with a warm welcome. Our dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant was really good plus we had wonderful service. Really nice location in Canmore!
The hotel was very nice and quite modern considering the other options around Banff/Canmore area. We booked here last minute for 9 nights and it was great, the location was great, service great and food from room service also great!
We didn’t know we’d love Canmore more than Banff! 😬 Every summer we go to Banff but this year we decided to stay in Canmore! Everything is great! Highly recommended destination with this kind of hotel! It’s perfect!
Spacious condo, also comfortable beds, and looks just like the pictures. It’s right in the middle of downtown Canmore where we could access shops and restaurants by foot and only a 23 minute drive to downtown Banff.
It had pretty standard hotel amenities: shampoo and stuff, tv etc. It was cheap. Bed wasn't bad. It is an older motel, but they're clearly taking steps to update it (new carpets and stuff).
Unit was comfortable, well appointed, and very nicely decorated. All together a wonderful stay in a lovely and homey condo unit, close to all that the Canmore and Banff area have to offer.
our favourite hotel in canmore. so cozy so comfortable and has everything you could ever need. also location is the best. in walking distance of everything. loooooved the hottub.
Very nice hotel. Loved the whirlpool to soak in after spending the day walking around Canmore. Would recommend and stay again. Bonus for Veteran parking at front doors.
