Painter's Lodge

Need to have more food available for 6 am fishing trips.

Loved the scenary and being able to take the boat over to April point

Some staff weren't as "hospitable" as past visits. Service in pub, lounge & spa, was "so-so". Some staff did not appear to enjoy their job/didn't give a dam type of attitude.

First day we stayed we had a very nice room. Beautiful view. Dock manager was very friendly and informative.

We came back on our return. Room was nice. Too many steps. OK ocean view. Room had cob webs hanging from the ceiling and in all the corners and backs of the beams. When we went to breakfast on sunday morning they refused to serve us unless we had reservations for the buffett. Thought that was odd that towns people visiting the buffett trumped the paying guest. The dining room was never even filled up. Oh well.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was ultra quiet!

The staff were ready to assist you in any way and were a great staff and very friendly and helpful and efficient in their duties. The atmosphere of the lodge and staff were one of calm and made our stay one of enjoyment and was very restful.

Painter's Lodge is an absolutely beautiful setting. It has everything you need to have a wonderful holiday. We especially enjoyed watching the big cruise ships sail by from our room!!! We would definetly love to return.

The views from the main lodge eating/drinking facilities are outstanding!

The night we stayed had a vacancy of likely 80%. I would like to have had an option of a lesser expensive room with only one bed (ours had four) for two persons.

Peaceful until the neighbour's dog woke us both nights.

Dog barking during both nights.. had to call the front desk and the security man managed to shut the dog up.. impossible to sleep with the barking, even tho' the windows were closed.

Helpful staff. Facilities, including pool.

the location, the posibility to book wildlife tours at the location without having to use a care or get somewhere, well treated as a single traveller, value for price, competent and well intentioned employees, good mix of employee age (not only young people).

The setting was stunning, the rooms were great, the food was good and the shuttle from Painter's Lodge to April Point was a great perk. We only stayed one night on route to another location, so can't speak to the fishing, but the hotel and restaurants were fantastic and we'll definitely be back. Plus, when the muffler broke on one of our group's vehicles, the staff kindly allowed us to leave the vehicle in the parking lot for three nights while we went further up island. Outstanding customer service.

Great job of providing view of river from many rooms.

Price of food was a little high. WIFI access could be much improved.

We had a very relaxing stay. We picked the wrong time of year for fishing but our guide for Whale Watching was great. Too bad there is so many people trying to whale watch at the same time because you dont really get enough time!! It was a great experience though. I found the food well done and plenty of choice for the week we stayed with you. I will be back !!

Relaxing atmosphere. Liked that the hotel provides a boat service to April Point.

Alot of cob webs on the ceiling and the ceiling fan covered in dust.
