Score from 30 reviews Wonderful
The overall look and location
Restaurant staff were disorganized, thus had to ask twice for water and in the end never received any.
Able to go across the water for breakfast made for a different experience
The pub was a bit too noisy and the food not quite as good as I would have liked
the calm feeling in and around the lodge grounds. the way the fishing and wildlife trips are orginised .
My sister works at Panters Lodge and we whent there for my other sister's memorial of life held at the lodge. The reast of the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Will say if anyone wants to go to Campbell River this is good place to stay and they can provide all the needs guided tours, fishing, spa, air port pick up and return. The food is great at a good price.
NOTHING BAD ABOUT THE PROPERTY, IT JUST DID NOT LIVE UP TO IT'S REPUTATION OF A LUXURY RESORT. DINNER IN THE PUB WAS SO SO - NOTHING SPECTACULAR
IT'S NOT A 5* LUXARY HOTEL, I WORK IN THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY AND I WOULD ACTAULLY RATE THIS AS A 3* SUPERIOR. THE WHOLE OF THE RESORT NEEDS A FACELIFT, IT STUCK IN AN 80'S TIMEWARP
The location, staff, grounds, food at both the restaurant and the pub were wonderful and the view was fantastic!
The hotel is well worth visiting. Rooms are very comfortable with housekeeping every day. Clean towels, extra coffee, just ask!! Restaurant and Tyree pub look over the bay, fantastic views. Food is good value for money and the staff were extremely friendly. We will most definitely stay there again if in the region.
Gym could do with updating.
Our room was very comfortable, on the second floor with enough beds for a family of four. Our friends could have been accommodated in the same room as we were only there for a couple of nights.
My friend made the reservations for 2 rooms at the beginning of 2014 but we were accommodated in different buildings.
Well organized and friendly staff, it was clean and had a nice view.
The complex hasn't been renewed since the 50'. Way too expensive for what you get.
The day was great and the Spa a wonderful relaxing time on the deck for a pedicure .Super margarita on patio at April Point ...All staff were polite and friendly as well as helpful The room was fine and clean Might suggest getting flat screen T.V and bed was a bit firm But quite happy with the accomodation
THE DINNER IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM AT PAINTERS LODGE. WAITER WAS VERY GOOD BUT...The food was TERRIBLE Both my friend and I had trouble eating our over cooked meal ..the halibut was dry as a bone ..Judys steak was overcooked and crab rubbery..A huge dissapointment and would hesitate to eat in this restaurant again. We were offered a dessert to placate us but really we should not have had to pay for this and it did spoil the rest of our stay...We are very easy going people and normally do not complain so this was unacceptable.. WE ACTUALLY WALKED DOWN THE ROAD TO DOLPHINS FOR BREAKFAST THE NEXT DAY TO AVOID EATING HERE AGAIN...
The location, the attractiveness of the facilities were top notch, as was our dinner.
There wss absolutely nothing to dislike from our point of view.
the food was very good, service was very good, very friendly servers, the beds were very comfortable.
the check in time at 3 pm seems very late, for people to arrive, especially as on your booking page is a request line for preferable check in! The smell of the room at the Quadra wing bothered us somehow. Old stale smell.......
Location, room views, fishing, landscaping, food. Ask for Treavor for your fishing guide!
Our reservation was not what we paid a deposit for. Did not get all the room types we paid for. The front desk does not have a good reservation system. Great property otherwise!
Nice located resort, great views and well equipped. Large rooms and balconies. Free boat transfer to April Points resort, excellent Restaurant.
Extrem cold air conditioning in several parts of the Restaurant. Food not impressive at the Painters Lodge main Restaurant.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was wonderful to sit and have a meal while watching all the activity outside. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony every evening with a cold beer and an 'appie', looking out across the Straits of Georgia watching the log rafts, salmon fishing boats, cruise liners. The service was excellent, food delicious (very reasonable prices), the pool is clean and well-kept. The Lodge is away from the town and its 'box stores', giving it a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, so quiet and peaceful. Just go there and experience it for yourselves!
Our room and the view. The option of travelling between resorts by boat.
The pool needs a revision There should be washrooms and a better change room The food was overpriced for what we ate. The view was great, the staff were nice but the menu and pricing needs to be reviewed. There should be a better range of pricing.
Vies, bar, boat across sound
Lack of temperature control
No AC in the room Too much noise in the room Dirty pool water Slow restaurant service
The restaurants were excellent, and the wait staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The view from the deck and restaurants were fabulous.
I went to Painter's Lodge to relax after a week-long kayaking trip. Unfortunately, the pool and jacuzzi were closed for maintenance, and the spa was fully booked (and the spa didn't answer the phone despite repeated calls to book a massage weeks in advance). After two complaints about rattling water pipes in my room, there was no follow up, no resolution to the problem - and no apology. When asked at check-out if I had enjoyed my stay and I replied that there had been problems, they didn't apologize - just pointed to the comments card and told me to fill one out. Not very good service considering the price, and the facilities I had expected and the reasons I chose Painter's Lodge - a massage and jacuzzi - weren't available. Not pleased.
The lodge was great.
April point, had dinner there with fish we caught, however the chef didn't know how to prepare it or just plain gave us the rib cage and kept the fillets for himself. Would have been done right at Painter's.
The Lodge has a beautiful location and lovely facilities. The position on the coast is spectacular.
The room was dated and needed improvement. It felt about 20 years old! There was a large and very happy wedding event when we were there We loved their joy -- but regretted the loss of sleep!
The water view. Loved it. Ceilings were cool. Pool and hot tub made it great after a four hour bike ride. Mattress great and very clean. Just so laid back and relaxed. Loved it.
Ate at dining room. Food was good but our waitress: could not answer question about items on menu like what is this dish? Answer " I don't know" ,dumped full glass of water on table-on my cell phone, seemed strange talking about her sick grandmother, seemed to never deliver the correct item to the correct person drink or food, put four things on our bill that belonged on another bill. Very surreal experience.
The location of resort is excellent. The food is excellent. The staff were friendly.
The dining room was very nice except for the windows. The view is good but the windows were very dirty, Not the ocean spray but the dead bugs etc. Also when we looked out our window and walked around It seemed like the whole outside needed cleaning. Sad for a resort of that caliber. Also the smaller restaurant was understaffed.
The ambiance is perfect!
The rooms are a bit dated.
