We love our trips to Montreal & the Petite Auberge Les Bons Matins. It is always like coming home to stay with the familiar & excellent staff, in the lovely quaint surroundings, with the wonderful food, & perfect location. We have stayed many times in many different rooms. View their web site to see the lovely rooms ...choose your own ... you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend this B&B.
It is not an issue for us but there are stairs & we always have help with the luggage but there are daily trips up & down. This is the lovely quaint architecture of Montreal ... & we love it!
The room and bed were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast excellent with gluten free options.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. There was a hot-tub and fireplace. The location couldn't be better; literally a stone's throw from the Lucien L'Allier metro stop. Breakfast was delivered to the room and was delicious. They even let us stash our bags after checkout so we didn't have to carry them around all day. I highly recommend and wish I could have staid longer!
The wifi worked intermittently and wasn't particularly fast when it did work. Staff, though very friendly, wasn't always easy to get a hold of.
The decor and the paintings are lovely. The big bathtub was nice. The self-contained apartment-style accommodation was just what I was looking for. The breakfast was great. The call when we were late for breakfast was appreciated.
The poor lighting in the bathroom made it hard to see when doing hair and makeup. Nobody was there when I arrived, but I figured it out eventually.
The bright art work, the wood, the furnishings, the breakfast
The location was better when I used the local station
The room was very pretty and cozy.
Not suited for the business traveler. No in room dining facilities or 24 hr reception. More like a bed and breakfast for tourists. I reached the hotel at 10 pm and took half hour to locate my room as reception was shut. Then I spend an hour looking for a place to eat as there was nothing in or near the hotel. Very inconvenient for business travel!
Comfortable very beautiful rooms, location was awesome as we were able to walk to find a great restaurant then head over to Montreal Canadians hockey game. Full hot breakfast served in the morning with a smile!
Loved the quirky design of the rooms which were very clean, comfortable and spacious.Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very warm and helpful. The metro and bus to the airport are very close. Would definitely stay here again if ever visiting Montreal in the future and would certainly recommend to others.
The location, so close to the Lucien Lallier metro station, but with very inexpensive parking and easy to reach on the 720.. also an easy walk to René Levesque and Ste. Catherine Streets The breakfasts.. wonderful! Lots of choices and no forced conversations with others at large tables! The decor (brick, antiques, provincial decor) and the comfort of the bed
We were upgraded to a third floor suite.. wonderful deal but we had to deal with a narrow, steep staircase.. if you are less mobile, avoid the third floor suites
Inn has great location plus next to subway: you can get anywhere. Adjacent train station is no problem: Trains move slowly; nearly soundless. Included breakfast= omelets + waffles.#705 has a huge, jet pool tub. 705 shares clean hallway kitchenette(w/ fridge, microwave) with 704.
lots of stairs. walls thin. wooden stairs creak when late or early guests tread up or down them. #705: no handle on hot water faucet; tiny shower; only privacy barrier b/t toilet & bedroom is gauzy curtain.
A good location, next to a metro station but also walking distance to downtown or the old city. A generous included warm breakfast. Comfortable bed, and clean.
The only downside was that our room was under the dunning room so we could hear waking and kitchen sounds starting at 6 am.
how close to the bell center and the metro it is was very convenient.
I paid for a suite and got 1 room with a Jacuzzi tub that my husband had to get working, luckily he's good at those things. I had to climb to the 3rd floor with all of my bags, no help was offered. The breakfast choices were good but the eggs were undercooked. The supposed balcony was a fire escape with no seating like shown in the pictures and the room was not what I was shown in the pics. The host said that the misrepresentation was booking.coms fault. I felt that the price was high for the room we got if I had gotten the room I was led to believe I was getting then the price would have been fine, but it wasn't.
Just a short walk to the Metro made it so convienient; we were able to travel all over inexpensively and stay dry on a rainy day. Breakfast was wonderful; the waffle "appetizers" were the best we have ever had!
Our bathroom was was quite small with little shelving; the angled shower ceiling caused a cramped feeling. The large table in front of the window was unnecessary; it, along with the floor length draperies blocked the heat source.
wonderful breakfast! Great old character. Super clean.
Vents between rooms made two nights very loud because of talkative neighbours in next room. Being given deluxe suite as compensation was unexpected delight
The charming room; the OUTSTANDING breakfasts; the LOCATION; the bath tub
WI-FI connection was BAD to nonexistent; lots of stairs
Charming, rustic, comfortable, cosy and friendly staff. Great location. And the key plus is the authentic feel, as opposed to large hotel chains.
Limited choice for breakfast. Could be refreshed in some part (bathroom for example).
The Auberge was well located for walking and for driving in downtown Montreal
The natural wood, antique pieces and colourful decor are charming. and you've gotta luv a deep soaker jacuzzi tub! The artwork, however, is fantastic! and makes this B&B a one of a kind.
Steps away from Metro, near to shops and food. Helpful & friendly staff! Comfy beds, great egg based breakfast!
Minor maintenance issues, Wi-Fi signal was poor on top floor.
The rooms were very comfortable clean and quiet. The breakfast was wonderful.
Parking was a big issue. There is a lot for 16.00 additional a night. Alternate side of street parking was confusing.
Me and my husband went for a two night stay at this beautiful Bed & Breakfast. This was our first time in Montreal and at a B&B and loved the choice. The staff were very helpful; provided us with all the information we needed for the booking and more. We speaked mainly English and survived this one as the staff also spoke English which was awesome. We loved the old school feel and look. All the bars and restaurants were so close and walking distance which was a plus! Awesome city! Very lively.
The only downside was hearing the people move furniture and walk upstairs but that was temporary and other then that it was an excellent place.
My wife and I visited Montreal for the weekend and we decided to stay here after reading the reviews to this place. Everything was great! Our room was massave and yes, the breakfast is awesome! Its a perfect location with a subway stop seconds away from the hotel. All of this for a pretty good price. Will definitely book here again!
The plece is good the location very close at the metri station, less than 100 mt and very close the the centre of the city (2 blocks). The breakfast is wonderful the food is cooked at the moment
comfortable bed, artwork! excellent breakfast included.
odd area but steps from metro and walking distance to crescent st. restaurants and art galllery, mcgill etc Downstairs room directly below kitchen so banging pans noise started 615am- not for light sleeper.
I am a return guest. I like the welcoming feel of the Auberge which includes the decor and overall ambiance. Staff is very helpful and of course the breakfast is amazing. Great attention to detail.
The For Sale signs, worries me that the property will be sold out in the next while. It is too bad that the old breakfast area has been sold.
