This is one of the cutest boutique hotels I have ever been. It's staff, location and comfort are exceptional. It is very charming and has been a blessing for me. First time I met my wife, was at it's lobby. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
Beautiful 1725 building, comfortable rooms, exotic birds, great location.
Some cob webs...but sort of adds to the charm.
The look , coziness , food , staff and location . It's like a trip in the 1700's .
The small bathroom . Everything else was awesome .
The room itself and the hotel were absolutaly beautiful.
There were little ants probably from the age of the building, but slightly annoying because they get in your stuff even if you have no food.
The dinner was delightful in the hotel's dining room. The room was spacious, well decorated, and the bath was very comfortable and pleasant. The historical and replica furniture was a delight for us.
The stairs. Having recently recovered from back surgery, the stairs were a bit more than I anticipated. But manageable.
The terrace was spectacular for morning breakfast. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location could not have been better.
The property was somewhat dusty.
The history at every corner in this hotel makes you feel privileged to be right there . It's a very romantic hotel . The staff is knowledgable regarding the history of the building .
Nothing . I cannot write 200 character of things I didn't like . Maybe I can say that the bathroom toilet is too close to the bathtub but for the price paid for our night it was I detail that can easily overlooked .
Staff very helpful and friendly. A bit difficult as I'm disabled. Felt like we stepped into the 18th century as we had hoped.
Stairs only, only double size bed, bath small
the 18th century French decor, architecture, interior design of the house and every room!
Wifi is very weak due to old brick walls; loud construction on the street where Room 5 & 6 face in the morning (might be temporary)
Fantastic location, close to everything, we had no idea when we booked it just how close we were to all the downtown sites. Overwhelmingly beautiful hotel, stephan and the rest of the staff are wonderful. My wife said the most romantic place we have ever stayed.
I made reservations in April 4 for our August 8+9 stay thru Bookings. On Aug. 7 we decided to walk over to see the place and were informed that we had been "relocated" to another hotel in a distant part of the city. I was in the middle of swimming in the World Championships and didn't have time for the distraction, so we made our own arrangements. The hotel was able to command a higher rate due to the volume of tourists in town for the meet and the Roger's Cup. My wife was in tears and our Months of planning were down the drain. Shame on them.
the staff were very friendly and attentive
Almost everything! Service.. ( thank you Stephan) ...Very personal and warm. Delicious food! Elegant, historical Cham made you feel like you were in another time. Nothing like it anywhere else ....
Built in 1725& holding up pretty well. Good location, close to restaurants and shops. Mattress was very good. and quiet.
our dinner waiter smelled like cigarette smoke...yuck. ordered 2 bottles of wine and they didn't have either one...the next bottle was $63.00..I don't think so! Our rack of lamb was ordered rare and came medium-well, the mashed potatoes were TURNIPS! And then this waiter wanted a TIP! Cob webs everywhere, never heard a vacuum cleaner in our 3 days there. Same exact breakfast EVERY day, how about a little variety. TV remote only changed channels and the screen was only 7" x 9". All of the antiques were REPRODUCTIONS! And very few SMILES!
Loved the old charm.
At last - a hotel that provides fluffy towels and beautiful sheets that haven't been laundered so often that you can see through them. The breakfast was lovely and the service gracious. We loved this hotel.
the atmosphere and furnishings both in our room and the other areas delightful garden terrasse with stone walls and hidden doors with birds both inside and outside quiet and pleasant people working there able to walk to both old Montreal and downtown with museums the best of old and new
wifi variable and slow
Great room décor.
Disappointed that the pictured property is not the one with the rooms. Breakfast could have been better while still being continental.
Building and the location is so romantic. We spend a night of the medieval time.
Dinner was middling, though the service was fantastic. The continental breakfast was normal than expected.
The room was very cozy and comfortable and the staff friendly and service oriented. We had an excellent dinner one evening (we only dined there the one night). Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to our friends.
The shower head was loose and sprayed water over the curtain. We forgot to report it to the staff as we were able to manage ok with it but if they should decide to replace the shower head I would highly recommend they get an adjustable (for height) and removable one. Breakfast was a challenge for someone who is both gluten and lactose intolerant but the coffee was great!
the staff was wonderful. the other guests excellent. the bed and sheets divine. the vibe, the ambience, like nowhere else. the dining room, having breakfast by the fire, the always gracious stefan. wow. and a great location. the parking set-up is truly the best. AND!!! the parrots. THE beautiful singing birds and PARROTS!
it would have been nice to have fresh plain yogurt with the gorgeous freshly sliced fruit. better wifi, in the rooms, would be useful for those of us who are tourists. the pillows are awkward and the covers not as swell as the sheets. picky picky. but really i have no complaints. we agree that we will be back. this place is perfect.
All the rooms, the furnishings, the staff, the location. Parking was very convenient.
The heat was on too high, we had a window wide open and still we were warm. The breakfast should be varied, each day was the same.
A very nicely appointed hotel in 18th century style. This is a very unique place in Vieux Montréal, I liked the parrots, friendly staff, very at-home-like, easy to reach from the airport. Nice library, fireplaces, restaurant (not open every evening).
A little difficult to find at night. When returning at night, the doors are closed, but there is a separate front door key attached to your room key (don't leave it inside). Being the only guest, it was a bit lonesome. The price is a little on the high side, but a unique experience anyway.
This place is an absolute gem! The history of this hotel is lived in every day. Beautiful surroundings, quaint and cozy. You will be very hard pressed to find another location with this caliber of style and character!!
We had absolutely no complaints. I have no suggestions for improvements in any area.
The décor and the location.
Cold coffee and breakfast was not fresh.
