Needs to be updated... Especially the bed
That it was easy to reach that late at night. The room was a bit run down but qke for a nights sleep.Kitchen very tatty, cupboards good do with a good clean.Again for a night it is fine.
smoking bucket right outside of my-smoking room, could always smell the smoking when people where smoking there
That it was 2 minutes closer to the Ferry than hotels in Port Hardy.
Everything else. This place is totally disgusting. Everything is too old and dirty. The only way to make this Motel better is to completely demolish it and build a new one. Do not stay here!
near to ferry point. and easy to get into Port hardy water hot and provides good warm shower. cleaning staff pleasant.
abit old and run down. should have refurbishing on carpets. some electrical switches not working Microwave smell of stale pizza only have one coffee bag and no tea. fridge about to give up and vibrating sound
It was a quick sleep over just getting off the Ferry. I would not have picked it if I had a choice. The first accomodation we booked got cancelled so we got this one. Not recommending it.
Clean and quiet
old building, not well maintained; tap that kept running (not leaking, but running all night), no tea/coffee, no bathroom toiletries - soap, shampoo, etc, noisy fridge, bare-bones kitchen amenities; warening signs aqgainst dirty dishes, over use of wifi, over-priced for what was provided..
Group of 4, had 2 suites. Neither phone worked, no Wi-Fi, smoke detecters were removed from both suites. Lady at reception could not speak english.
Would need a good renovation - old carpets and furnitures, humid. Too expensive for this level of quality...
Not much!!! The location was the only plus
The room was old and dirty!!!! Peeling wallpaper, filthy carpet, gross bathroom. The room was disgusting!!!
Staff were friendly Beds were very comfortable
Rather expensive for that type of Motel. Was supposed to be a kichinette, but very few dishes and utensils. Internet connection painfully slow.
Location, state of general upkeep for building and inside rooms. Not clean, old and untidy, far too expensive for services available
not much would not recommend or stay there again
no restaurant --closed 2 years ago--still on brochure. no bathroom fan ,had to try 3 rooms till found one that was acceptable --sort of. no locks on windows ,cablevision didn't work broken toilet, all rooms smelled musty, lots of black mold under roof by bathroom windows
Room was cold but heat had been turned off.
needs a big update,
Location close to BC ferry terminal for early departure
Old and in poor repair for the money Room clean -just but very poor furnishings rugs and bedspreads
Friendly reception Comfortable bed
New ownership looks like they are trying to skimp. Not as clean as when I stayed more frequently a few years ago. Very small bar soap, no tissues, bathroom vent did not work. May not stay again.
We like the handy location to the ferry and the main road. We liked being able to walk our dog in the countryside. We liked the price.
The grounds at the motel were horribly littered. There was garbage lying around wherever we looked. In the morning, the workers staying near us had their two-way radios on loud in their vehicles with windows open from around 5:30 A.M. until they left around 8 A.M. It was not possible to sleep through this. For these reasons we would not stay at Pioneer again if we were in the area. We would choose to pay more money for a motel without these problems.
The hotel was 80% occupied by the workers from adjacent mines. One night is a maximum to stay there. Equipment was obsolete and very used.
quiet, appeared clean, wake up call available
needed fixing up. difficult getting info about where to eat, shuttle cost to ferry, and parking vehicle to stay and rebook...which we decided not to do because of all the above. No restaurant !!
Decor was from the 70's, loud all night with people slamming doors and talking
