Good location and access to public transit
Hearing was too high
It was a place to crash for the night close to family we were visiting (Our family does not have adequate facilities for overnight stays is why we rented hotel space).
The room was cold even with the heat on. We advised the management who said they would bring a space heater but never did despite multiple requests. We had two people and had to ask for a second washcloth every night we were there. There is no wastebasket in the room itself, only in the bathroom. The walls had several unrepaired cracks and impact damage. Used bathroom towels etc. were left behind when the room was "cleaned".
The location is very convenient for public transport - bus stop a couple of minutes away and metro about 15 minutes. The room I had was large and warm, comfy cosy bed. It was nice and clean, and plenty of hot water for baths or showers. The bathroom was scrupulously cleaned every day. Soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were supplied, as well as face cloth and towels. The hotel represents very good value for money if you come with realistic expectations of budget accommodation.
Breakfast was a little late - starting at 7.30. WiFi was only available in the hotel lobby despite the website saying it's available in all areas. It isn't. I couldn't get it at all in my room and only sporadically in the breakfast room. That was a bit of a blow since I'd been relying on using Facebook and email to keep in touch with the family back in France.
Great restaurant around the corner. Good pillows
Uncomfortable bed. Minimal furniture in room, no where for 2 people to sit. Booked on line but got charged $40.00 more at desk. No blow dryer
Nice beds and tvs
Need better security
The staff was VERY helpful and informative.
Not having Internet
The staff is nice the value is great and the location is perfect even the room's are decently clean
The wifi is very poor rarely works, the room's can be missing stuff like lamps or remotes, it's old furniture, and the look but if u don't mind looks it's great
The value is great; the room was comfortable and the bed was wonderful. The overall cleanliness was good, as was the bathroom situation. The staff was also very accommodating when it came to check-in time -- they don't really care how late you check in as long as you call and let them know.
The WiFi information wasn't readily available.
Cleaning lady fixed our slow shower drain and gave us the extra towel we asked for. Bathroom was clean and sparkled each day when we returned.
The floors are dirty and worn. They need vacuuming and cleaning. Bathroom wall paint was pealing. Exhaust vent appeared dirty and not working.
Excellent location. Outside of the city but close to everything.clean and quiet room. A/C worked well.Adequate breakfast. Comfortable bed. Near to public transportation. Near to a beautiful park. Reasonable price.Helpful staff.Clean and equipped bathroom.
There was no refrigerator or coffee maker in the room.
Price Location Staff
Rooms could be updated A/C was not the best
No where to park!! No parking lot. Did not make up the room, staff shortage? The place is old and not maintained. Got plenty of soap but no towels. Said they take Amer. EX card, they do not! No radio, coffee maker or ice bucket.
Dirty rugs Poorly kept washroom No decor
Location. Very close to the start/finish of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montreal, restaurants, and bars.
Breakfast wasn't very good. Poor selection and no juice. Having to walk up to the fifth floor carrying a bike and bags.
Location is the only worthwhile aspect of this shabby, overpriced "hotel" that has the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
To start with there are hidden taxes not mentioned on the site. 20% worth of them. So the already high prices (considering what you don't get for the $) become outrageous. No refrigerator so you must buy food constantly outside premises. No lift. We stayed for 14 nights(!) yet got put on the 5th floor at the far end, away from WIfi, so we couldn't even get the pathetically weak wifi signal. One of my main reasons to book the place as I needed to be in communication for work! My fiancee is a small woman and when she checked in ahead of me and asked if anyone could help with her bags, the rude woman at reception laughed at her and said she "could do with some exercise" (my fiancee is a runner and extremely fit and rake thin!). We overheard her saying this to multiple guests. She would constantly shout at people when they asked for things. I complained about the hidden taxes and wifi and she attempted to talk over me. I am a professional sound engineer who has worked all over the world for the last 20+ years and told her it was completely unacceptable to advertise services that didn't exist, so 3 days later we got moved to a lower floor and closer to wifi....but without a working Air Conditioner unit for another 4 days in +30 degree Celsius weather!! No discount, no help. We then went over the road to the Hotel Park Avenue, which was smaller rooms. But half the price, fantastic desk staff, excellent kitchen facilities and much much better experience over all. Avoid the simply terrible Hotel Plateau Royale like the plague!!! Go straight to the Hotel Park Avenue instead if you want to stay in this gorgeous part of Montreal
The location is great and the owner is very pleasant and helpful.
We booked the room with no advanced notice and expected an elevated price. However, charging $270+ tax for accommodations like that is absolutely unreasonable: rugs are not clean, windows don't open, noisy, breakfast is poor, slow internet, and no other amenities at all.
Dirty, filthy, discusting everything broken even bed change price even though booked at other price staff don't care breakfast terrible on booking.com its a 3 star, on the hotel door its a 2 star...it is a -10 star believe every bad review you read about this place Don't stay here, we are sorry we did
Cheap and clean. Good location.
No elevator. Noisy Air conditioner.
Great location, decent room, seemed clean.
Terrible wifi, bedroom smelled like a hamster cage.
The location was the best feature of this hotel. It took only 30 minutes to walk to UQAM which was my destination. Lots of amenities, restaurants and transit options available.
The room was unclean and in disrepair. There was no elevator so I had to walk up four flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase and I have mobility issues. No staff assisted me with my luggage. The room was very expensive for the dump it was. There was no breakfast available but a continental was marketed.
location, back door that opened for nice view and air(back side rooms only, this side is quiet also), surprisingly comfortable bed, clean sheets and down pillows - with all the other negatives I was concerned about bed bugs.
by far the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed at, I went around and cleaned any surface I had to touch. no alarm clock, ice bucket, desk, one tiny garbage can in bathroom, running toilet, loose external door knob, run down furniture, cracked sink, bad wifi that went out regularly
on arrival a sense of dread came over me. this can't possibly be a 2 star hotel charging $300 a night? the nervousness of the receptionist and insistence on signing the credit card slip before being able to see the room another bad sign. no elevator and no assistance to drag heavy suitcase to top floor. the reek of 10 year old cigarette smoke in the corridor, which got worse on entering the room. the rickety apology for furniture whose surface more cigarette burn than varnish. sticky carpets. fear of whats been there before. very strange noises in the night.sunken bed. breakfast? hilarious...2 stars? what a joke. had booked 3 nights, checked out after one hoping for a refund - not a chance. don't stay there even if desperate - check your luggage into left luggage at the station or airport and sleep on park bench a far safer option. if you got a car even better - sleep in that. stayed in far nicer places backpacking for a few $'s a night. any even slightly positive reviews of this dreadful hell hole must have been submitted by the management or their associates
The price and location are perfect the staff is ok the place is clean but run down the washrooms work fine but again washed out and not all the locks worked it's a simple cheap nice but not fancy place great value but u get what u pay it's good enough for simple traveler who is looking for value but id never take my girlfriend for a night there
A great location and easy street acess. The room had a rear dor that opened onto an alley, allowed fresh air in. Daily linen service was good.
Floors and surfaces were unbelieveably dirty. Drawers in dresser falling of rack. Poor room lighting - either glaring or too dim. Pricing was far in excess of the values.
-very inexpensive when booked online or long time in advance -well placed, not far from everything -Very inexpensive and comfy beds for the price.
-not the sharpest place to bring a date -
