there was a place to sleepin port mcneil
being above the liquor store, some drunk waking me up in the middle of the night hammering on a door in the motel
Liked the location.. was central to other facilities/activities within the community.
The noise from other rooms was annoying. It seemed there was no enforcement of the 11 p.m. quiet time. I don't know if I'd stay there again.
We found this was excellent suited our needs. Had microwave in room with coffee machine & a fridge. So you were able to be a little self catering. Staff were very helpful.
Can't think of anything would stay there again.
We stayed in Port McNeil for a family affair and weren't sure what to expect from a one-star hotel. Cleanliness is definitely what we got (which was a huge relief). Everything else was minor discomforts in comparison. The family-run motel staff was all very accommodating whenever we called to the front desk to ask for something! They couldn't find allergen-free pillows, so they went out & bought us brand new pillows! How nice! It was also a nice surprise that the room had one queen & one double instead of two doubles. Lovely large panoramic windows to take in the views!
1978 bathroom. The super thin towels were replaced but the beds weren't made. While it wasn't necessary it was still disturbing not to have fly screens on the window. Window had somebody's face print on it (clearly not cleaned) and the stairwell stank of old smoke & sweat.
Staff very friendly and helpfull
Smelly and linen not clean
I got charged more then the reservation said
Good barking for boat and truck. Close to fishing area. Close to local restaurants easy walking distance.
No longer serves breakfast.
Location close to the harbour, free parking. Clean, simple room. Microwave and fridge.
Room smelled initially a bit from cleaning agents. After ventilation was ok.
The motel was clean and some of the rooms had wood floors instead of carpet which was good. Large windows in the rooms and one side of the "inn" had a good view of the harbour, ocean, and surrounding landscape; the side by the bar was noisy at night. The manager was very friendly and helpful.
Friendly manager; Walking distance to water/ferry
Rooms shabby and dated; Odor in hallways; Noise from liquor store traffic below window
The view from the room
Clean and spacious. Would recommend as an inexpensive option as most other place cost double.
Very close to entrance to a bar so very noisy until closing time. Wi-Fi had very poor reception but probably entire town has poor reception.
convenient location, quiet even on ground floor, very helpful staff, very clean, facility is older but it was clean and comfortable.
bath towels were too small and I didn't realize until I was coming out of shower, would have asked for an extra one.
Very thin walls.
Room very clean; sheets clean and fresh. The management very nice. The plank floors were a nice touch. Not expensive.
Paper thin walls. Sound carries easily. The bar noise outside and parking lot noise very loud very late. Room stuffy; poor air circulation. Decor, fixtures and case goods old. Wi-fi signal weak.
Very quiet in the rooms. Restaurant on site. View of the water as well as the town of Port McNeill. Good location for access to ocean front businesses and marina. Fairly good value.
We had to carry our heavy luggage up the flight of stairs to the second floor. At check in, the front desk was vacant for about 10 minutes and the manager did not direct us to our room.
Owner was helpful and courteous.
Paying an extra $10 to share a bed with my spouse.
High ceilings so less stuffy than other places we stayed. Clean wnpugh room and comfortable. Ok for 1 night before going whale watching with the mackays which was amazing!
Difficulty communicating with asian man at front desk. Hallway v smelly. No ac but did get fan from front desk (held together with duct tape!) Whole place old and shabby.
Staff/ management very helpful and cooperative Good starting point for activities in the region Price in relation to other places ok Microwave and fridge available
very simple cleaniness could be improved
It had a vacancy
terrible mattress poor tv slow wi-fi
Breeze from ocean to cool the room
no glasses in room no spare toilet paper roll
Clean friendly staff
No real problems. Hotel is older and thus has some wear, but relationship of cost vs value is okay.
Friendly staff. Position to shops/restaurants and ferry terminal. View was wonderful. Japanese eatery on premises.
Difficulty with water jug (coffee maker) in hearing - this only a small hic cup.
Room was clean beds were comfy just right if all you need is a place to sleep
Small room. Barely big enough for the two beds. Room temp was quite warm. Only 8 TV Chanels it took a long time to get the shower to warm up
We could walk to the ferry which was great. The sushi shop next door was great. The rooms are much nicer than the outside. The reception was open late.
The building looks quite shabby from the outside.
