Overlooks park and lake.
Also railway tracks 20 yards away. Freight train goes by at 2am.
Great lake view.
Room was the size of a medium size broom closet. No Separate clothes closet at all! Train ran past he window - close - and blew its horn though the night. Scared the bejesus out of us..
The hotel was clean. Window opened which was nice and housekeeping was good.
The hotel had a bad smell, from downstairs, in the elevator and hallways but the room itself was fine. The bed was clean but gave me aches & pains. TRAIN every night woke us up.
What a wonderful Hotel! Great character and location was absolutely beautiful view. View of the Lake, and even though a train passed by in the middle of the night, we felt it added even more charm to the location. All was clean and well maintained and staff was excellent,,very helpful
all was good!
This room was grossly over-priced and the cleanliness of the sheets in one of the queen beds was questionable.... seriously!
Nice room and view on the water side.
No room service. Had to have new towels brought to the room. The towel rack fell off the wall. Something fell off the sink, but I can't remember what it was. The cover on a handle?
close to water front and a short hike to downtown. easy to find.
train whistle in the wee hrs of the night
Lovely view of South end of Kootenay Lake. Comfortable bed.
The patio was not usable as there were tons of cobwebs and large winged bugs. We were warned, but a train going by very early in the morning felt as if it was going through our room. The location was a little out of the town centre, but we had a car to get around.
close to water and path ways not too far of a walk to downtown easy to find right on highway
train whistle in wee hrs
Great service. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great view overlooking the lake.
In and out parking access at the front of the building.
we like the location as we have now stayed in both prestiges, one on the lake , and know this one. Very comfortable beds.
no pool or hot tub, to far to go to the other prestige for a swim and hot tub. didn't like the hardwood floors to cld. not a fan of the train. Hard access to the hotel. no place to have breakfast or lunch or dinner.
The room was clean and in a good location close to the shopping mall and the walkway to Lakeside Park.
Made the reservation 4 months in advance and were disappointed to get the room that we did. The room was small with a tiny window that was shared with a rattling air conditioner. We were told that was all that was available and were not able to change rooms for our 3 nights stay. Also found it off-setting that our use of booking.com was mentioned in a negative tone . Not sure why as we have not had that issue booking with them at other hotels ? The parking areas are very tight and if you have a larger vehicle it could be a problem.
The only disappointing thing was that the restaurant only off were the buffet for breakfast and not any menu at all
Clean Easy to find Quite nice view over river But scruffy land by hotel
Small room Too far out of town Too many steps and stairs when transporting luggage Train line immediately adjacent
friendly competent staff
Great stay...great location. ....clean....staff excellent. ...we will definitely stay again.. ...thank you for your excellent service. Susan Rose Pat Agnew
When I arrived with my family we were not happy with the location or the area the hotel is in, its further from all the nice restaurants and shops, the on line images are a lot nicer than the actual place. Just at the lobby the ceiling tiles are stained and the trim work is shabby. They were not able to accept the credit card that I initially booked the room with, they would not accept a debit/visa and they were not at all accommodating to try and help me find a reasonable solution they demanded an unreasonable large cash deposit, this was turning into a nightmare so I went to the bank which happened to be down town I was able to find much nicer accommodations right in the heart of this beautiful town, I definitely recommend Nelson but not this hotel.
Train at 2:3 AM woke us jup
Room was clean, and had a comfortable sleep. Staff was friendly. (We waited for 10 min, before we called them on house phone, they were working on the floor too. )
Parking was terrible. And trying to get onto the street is another thing...Poor location. (We came back to hotel at 9:30 at night, and a car was blocking the entrance, no room for a passing car. Thank goodness, the driver came and moved the car) The price went up when we checked in, I booked it online, and was told it was 160. We got there and the bill was taken up to $200.00. There was no continental breakfast, or any of the usual at a hotel. I understand this is a 2nd hotel under another one, but I want my amenities at the same hotel. This was a lesson learned. Sorry, Not our type of accomodation. (The other hotels were sold out, or we would have stayed elsewhere)
Comfortable beds, plentiful pillows, reasonable rates
The train whistles jolting me awake in the middle of the night. The number of stairs, even when the elevator was used.
Hotel was clean and comfortable.. Parking was fine.
There were no facilities for eating - neither restaurant nor coffee shop. One receptionist said we couldn't have a voucher for breakfast at the other Prstige hotel in the town. A second one gave us a voucher!
The location was nice, close to the Beach, Mall and Downtown.
We tried to upgrade our room but told we couldn't, we were told to pay 109 bucks if we wanted too when we only paid 80 bucks a night for the hotel.
Facilities were very clean and comfortable. The balcony was terrific. The view was lovely and it was really nice to be outside.
We were not warned about the train whistle, and therefore we were startled the first night. Secondly, we were in Nelson to attend a wedding and our other family members said to use the coupon for breakfast at the "resort". When we asked about the coupon we were told that we had such a good room rate that we didn't qualify for the coupon. Our room rate was the same as the what the others were paying. We had booked first and told them to book with you, so I felt a little slighted. It really isn't a big deal, but I thought I would mention it.
Staff was very nice. General decor was well done. Essential elements were functional - good shower, good tv, internet, etc. View to the lake over the park was kind of pretty, (once you ignored the road, parking lot, trains). Loved having access to the other property's pool...
Trains were difficult to sleep through. Location was much further from downtown than was advertised. Stairs/elevator was a strange layout - very difficult for someone who struggles with stairs. General decor was nice, but surfaces seemed worn - door to balcony was nearly impossible to open, peeling paint in bathroom, etc.
