The cottage had everything that one would need. Great location and friendly staff.
Loved the location! Right on the beautiful lake. Only a few cottages, so nice and quiet. Canoe and kayaks were provided. Saw lots of wildlife, including a beaver and otters.
Charming old cottages, but a little tired.
The hosts, the lakefront setting, the quiet area,BBQ facilities.
The decor, needs some TLC.
Enjoyed the location and the view. Very quite and close to the lake. Sue and Jim are very pleasant. Canoe and Paddle boat is free and useful to just relax by the lake. Enjoyed that there is no tv to distract from family time.
Sue was very nice and accommodating. The cottage kitchen was well-equipped and the cottages were a good size. It was a nice private location on a pretty lake and very quiet. Also liked the free use of kayaks and canoes.
Although it's cottage country where cottage rentals are expensive, I didn't think the value was the greatest. The cottages are a bit tired and could use a paint job, which isn't really a big deal on its own but considering the price, upgrades could be made. The cottages were generally quite clean but the shower curtain had mould and mildew on it. At this price, there's really no good reason for this.
Clean cottage. Nice docks. Direct access to Trent waterway. Kayaks and canoe are free. Peddle boats are free. 25 minute drive to Peterborough.
Not allowed to fish from peddle boats.
The owners are amazingly nice people. Very sweet. The location is great, close to Lakefield and Peterborough. The lake is beautiful.
Quite dated and not kept well. The toilet was leaking quite heavily, as was the kitchen faucet. Appliances weren't very clean, and the dust was unbelievable. I find it quite loud at night, not because of other visitors, but because of the residents along the road.
We really enjoyed our visit to Prestwood cottages. We are a mature couple but we also had our 1-year old grandson visit every day. Excellent place for little kiddies, with a swing set and our grandson loved the beach. The owner, Sue, is a great person, we enjoyed little chats every day.
If you are looking for modern appliances, tv with cable and wifi, don't go to Prestwood cottages. But if you enjoy a cottage experience, playing on the water and enjoying the outdoors, it's the place for you.
I liked that were canoe, kayak, paddle boats, lake front property, bbq facilities, near to Toronto(1.5 Hours drive) Owner Manager was pleasant and provided excellent service
Not a lake to swim. It had lot of weeds and mussels growing. Good value for the price.
Owners Sue and Jim were very friendly hosts & on the property ready to help with any of our needs and keep the property clean. Free use of peddle boats, kayaks and canoes, supplied life jackets. Cottage was fully equipped with plates, cups, glasses, pots and pans & toilet paper etc. Great spot for fishing with a good level of privacy.
Very small beach area, Lots of seaweed makes the water not so appealing for swimming.
Need some update.
Loved the location - great in the late spring / early summer. Only a few cottages for rent making the stay feet quiet and relaxing with good privacy. Great Lake for fishing and superb owners! Will keep coming back.
the location was fabulous & we had excellent weather; our hosts were very nice & we would definitely go back again.
-inside cottage was nice (except for bathroom) -nice grounds, well cared for -owner, sue, was very nice -nice lake to canoe, fish
cottages are very close together, creating little privacy. There is no swimming at this lake as very weedy and algae so description of beach may be misleading to those with children. close to town and could hear traffic and sirens so loses its "cottage appeal"- our cottage tub/shower was moldy and in desperate need of upgrade-cottage needed some small repairs and bbq tools.
Lots of water fun with paddle boats, canoes, kayaks and motor boats for those with a operators licence, frogs and fishing. View and sunsets are amazing. Owners very polite and keep cottages and property very clean, sell the fire wood at a great price.
No beach to speak of, no swimming, and poor water pressure for showers. Water Shoes are a must for there are musselsin the water near the shore, and easily can cut feet.
