Had to go back to the front desk twice to reactivate the key cards. First associate failed to tell us that the key can be deactivated if it's near a cell phone.
Construction and not be advice during my booking
Clean room; comfortable bed and pillows. Able to park my car directly in front of my room location. Safe neighbourhood.
Kids running up and down the halls. Someone was smoking continuously throughout the evening and early hours of the morning - rooms were advertised as non-smoking.
The restaurant food was good.
The door card didn't work in many occasions. The room smelled. The restaurant service was poor.
Hotel is under renovation . So rooms were older and tired. Once renovated, will be very nice.
Since everything was so good, it is difficult to choose any one thing that I/we liked. I was travelling with my elderly mother, and the staff was so sensitive to her and her needs. They made concessions to provide out comfort. The restaurant staff was so welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. This was my first visit to Oshawa but I would certainly return and stay in this hotel.
I cannot think of anything that I did not like about the hotel. The rod construction in the city made it a little less than easy to get around.
The morning staff were fantastic. Happy, friendly...lovely. Breakfast was delish. The staff in the restaurant were lovely. Love the view in the dinning room - of both pools. We were both a bit sad our trip wasn't long enough to allow us to spend some time enjoying the pool.
We arrived late, although we had booked online. When we walked in, a woman was tidying the foyer, saw us and walked away. Then, another man walked up, behind the desk, grabed some keys, never acknowledged our presence and walked away. We waited a good 15 minutes before anyone came back. The original lady came back and started checking us in...but she was not happy about it and told us so. She went on about how she doesn't start until 11 (it was 10:45)...she slammed papers around, had trouble with the printer and was slamming that around, complaining about the equipment and it not being her night. At one point, I was going to tell her to forget it, we would go somewhere else. Our issue was that we were there on business and had travelling to do the next day and so, needed to get some sleep. Finally we checked in, found our room and settled in for the night.
This is a standard hotel off the highway that is fine for a night's sleep on the way to somewhere else. Other than the fact that it has a pool and restaurant, no one would want to spend any time here. The bed was fine; the standard 2 bed room was nothing special, though it had a small fridge in it, which was nice.
I didn't like the towels that were unraveling with threads hanging down each day. I didn't like the cracked and stained bathroom counter / vanity or the borken tiles around the bathroom. I certainly didn't like the $3.75 daily "direct marketing fee" they added to my bill without telling me in advance (but removed when I objected, as it was not listed anywhere, and why should I be paying for them to market to me?!, though from that point on the desk clerk was not very pleasant).
The overall look of the place....
I booked on line at bookings.com and made a note that we needed aground floor with easy access. Gave me #133and went to the room and husband drove to the back. There was a 6 ft. drop out the patio doors. REALLY? Yes there was construction and NO I was not told by the front desk.I had told them I needed a patio door for access. We had no choice but to take a second floor room near the elevator. Inconvenient. This room had a dirty balcony and uncomfortable beds. We do come here a few times a yr. and this was the first problem. so disappointed. That drop off the patio doors was very dangerous.

The whole property is run-down from the parking lot(s) to the restaurant to the bathrooms in the rooms. The carpet in the restaurant was a tripping hazard!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel had a wonderful buffet. The food was so tasty. The choices were not overwhelming.We had supper and breakfast there. Room was very comfortable. We would go back again.
We used the taxi phone in the hotel for City Wide. They never showed up. (Front desk arranged another cab company to pick us up though.)
The fact that staff did not take care of an incident with teenage ball players and parents being unruly in the hallway after 11 p.m.
Bathroom was small door against tub was a nuicance. Walker wouldn't fit through doorway.
Temperature in the building felt a bit cold that weekend
Booking.com gave me a rate of $104.99. When I checked in, they tried to charge me $129.99. When I showed them my confirmation from booking.com, they gave me the quoted rate.
Even though we wanted to eat a late dinner close to the end of food service in the restaurant, the staff did not rush our dinner at all. We found the hotel relatively quite although it wasn't very busy.
The room, especially the bathroom are a little dated and the shower control probably could not be operated by most people ... Room 138
Did not like that we had to have a credit card to do the security deposit... As we do not have a credit card all we have is A Debit Visa... And was told that we could not use it... Thank goodness that my father in law happened to be with us and was able to use his credit card to do our deposit... Also when we checked in at 2pm we were told that check in was 3 which was fine so we waited.... However we were still waiting for our room at 330...... finally we go into our room at 345.......
Very old. Water leaking all over place. Furniture old. Just all around not place I would stay again.
