very convenient location, close to the train station that gets you anywhere you need to go in Calgary. The rooms were clean and quiet which was nice. Breakfast was good as well especially the waffles you could make yourself. Staff at the reception weren't very friendly. Never smiling which was really too bad. Every time you would ask directions or a question, it was such an effort for them. Too bad....

Great location, close to train made it easy to get into town. Poor customer service, staff were not friendly or very helpful and the price did not match the service, was quite disipointed with my stay.

I liked the staff who were helpful, friendly and smiling when we talked to them. The breakfasts were great. The atmosphere was good. I liked the eating/visiting area around the pool. Some areas were not well maintained, such as the stains on the carpet in our room and in the hall. The pool water was cold. The hot tub jets were not working.

Proximity to sports facilities, restaurants, and transportation. We had an inner room with two hallways and no access or window to the outside. This was not in the room description when I booked it. The room was like a cave and was unacceptable.

We appreciated the cleanliness. My husband used the pool. I used the exercise room. We both benefited from the small refrigerator and coffee maker.

The room was spotless. Staff were friendly and polite. Transit access close by and a short cab ride downtown. Price was reasonable. Beds comfortable. Despite my comments under the "negative" heading, I'd reccomend this hotel for budget-minded people who don't want or need frills. I'll stay again myself if I can have an outside room. 1) The room appeared to have been created when they added an extra layer of rooms to the outside of the hotel. It had two doors and one window, all opening/looking into a corridor. 2) The bathroom had the toilet placed inches from the tub, beside it, and narrowed toward the door--a claustrophobe would've gone nuts. 3) The room was excessivley cramped with two large single beds--A queen would have been better. 4) The breakfast was cheap. A little fresh fruit, yoghurt, bacon, a free newspaper, and china plates would have made a world of difference.

Nothing really special, just normal. "Complimentary Breakfast" from 07:00 to 09:00!!! Just toast, jam, juice, fruit. Some hot brown water, they call it caffe. The only hotel in the world where breakfast is so short and finishes at 9:00 am!!! At 08:50 they started already to take things away. Elevetor takes about 72 seconds to bring you from Lobby to first floor, just 4 meters. Wow!

The hotel is well located, near the Banff Trail Station, which gives you the possibility either to go or take the connection to the main points of the city by CTrain. The room was well cleaned and equipped with good furnitures for a business trip. The free wireless internet works very well and the staff was very kind and available to promptly serve.

Watched our son(s) playing baseball for Univeristy of Calgary at Foothills Stadium, so the location was excellent. The first room we were in was a twin and it was just too small, congested, not able to move around for two people, luggage , etc. and that window - what a shock when we opened the curtain and it was a hallway.! Anyway, we were moved to a lovely double queen room. The night desk staff was not very welcoming either (first night).

Charged my credit card the whole amount when I arrived even though I stated I was paying with debit upon checkout. When we checked out 5 days later I was informed that my credit card would remain charged for another 24 hours, even though I paid the bill with my debit card!! Ridiculous. Will never stay there again.

The only good aspect is the location. The room is a substandard size room with a larger queen size bed, not a King size bed, only two small towels in the bathroom. Only a few basic toiletries. Pretty normal breakfast. Very ordinary. The general sensation is that of a cheap managed place using a good name.

The Quality Inn was very close to the University of Alberta, which is where I had business. Great location for football games as well. Walking distance to the nearing C-train station. Female solo traveller and I felt safe and comfortable. Continental breakfast was apples, bananas, toast & jam, cereal, danishes, coffee, tea, juice, milk. No yogourt, meat, eggs but good value for the $99/night king room. Efficient check in and check out. Would stay again.

The hotel has provided everything that a business man requires. Around the clock coffee, facilities to use fax or scanner. Free internet and nice rooms. Having an indoor pool without closing hours is not a good practice as some of the guests used the pool after midnight there was alot of noise that prevented me having a good sleep. Also in a couple of ocassions, people were socializing loud after midnight and that also disrupted my sleep. Lastlt, the tv channels are not clear to view.

I found all the staff members that I encountered very friendly, professional and helpful at all times - they couldn't do enough to make my stay enjoyable and it was very much appreciated. The room was super - clean, comfortable and spacious - and the features of the fridge, microwave, coffee maker and free wi-fi were excellent. The pool was an excellent feature. The location was excellent. I will definitely stay here again when I'm next in Calgary. Thank you Quality Inn University. I would have liked a little better reception on the TV at times and I wasn't able to use the pool for one day due to maintainance, but those are very minor details, which were far outweighed by the numerous positive features of the hotel.

Location suited us. It's convenient to University and sporting events. I didn't like that breakfast ended at 9am. That's far too early, especially on weekends. 10 or 10.30 would be much better. I've never stayed in a hotel that ended breakfast so early.

Room was small but cozy and quiet. There was no rear exit from the hotel, and we were down about 3 hallways to get to our room in the very, very corner of the hotel. There was an exit next to our door but was an alarmed emergency exit. Would have been nice to not have to walk all that way through the hotel each time I needed something from my vehicle or to smoke... the alarmed door in the room to the fire escape is such a tease for a smoker.

I liked how close it was to the stadium and the beds were comfy, that's about it. It was not worth the money at all, there was a spider web in the upper corner of the room, the ceiling was cracking, my head board had a huge gauche in it, the service was unbelievably bad I had to walk out to the lobby to pay for the food we ordered because the debit machine would not even connect. To top it all off the service from the employees over the phone was terrible, I was hung up on. I felt dirty the entire time I was there so thankful it was only one night.

“I was pleasantly surprised at the maintenance and quality/decor/comfort of the rooms for the rate I paid. Best Western is known at a budget hotel which usualy means run down, old dirty furniture with minimal service. The traveler reviews on Trip Advisor were very positive as were the photos, which is why I picked the hotel.” Comfree, Beaumont |
