From the moment we arrived it felt like we were truly welcome. The staff was unbelievably helpful, the hotel shining clean and the building had a unique yet updated character. The location was easy to find and close to public transit.
Nothing really. Being located between the edge of a bustling, shopping and arts area and an area still in need of renewal could have negative results, but the hotel was a convenient oasis of comfort and rest.
Staff went out of its way to make your stay enjoyable..location very convenient ...one block from Metro and two blocks from Palais des Artes....rooms small but clean and modern...definitely a bargain. Downside could be for some there is no elevator.
- Centric location for visiting the city - wifi - Attention given by the woman who was at the reception in the morning.
- Attention given by the man who was at the reception in the afternoon/night. - Kitchen and cookware were very dirty. There where food of other guests incrusted everywhere. Very disgusting!! - A lot of nightlife noise. It was impossible to fall asleep.
Friendly and helpful staff Reasonably good breakfast Clean and tidy throughout Good facilities (computer & printer, coffee machine)
Wifi signal was variable within my room No elevator On a busy central street so it can be a bit noisy
a/c did not work. I suspect it had been set to run on fan only. On a hot Montreal night that would have been awful.
Everything was great about this hotel. Downtown, fun, bars, food etc. Hotel was clean and serviced everyday. Fiancé and I had a ball!! keep up the great work and thanks to the hotel workers. See you soon.
Outstanding, helpfull staff. Special thanks to Zach and Isham.
The room was clean and had a kitchen (wish I'd known, then I could have prepared for it.) Convenient location - you can walk everywhere. The woman who works there during the day is kind and courteous.
I never post about bad experiences in hotels but I was so misled by the ratings and reviews this place received that I'm posting this with the hopes of saving someone some money and disappointment. I do think that if ANY of this had been advertised (or if I had paid <100$) I would not be so incensed. First of all this is not a hotel. It is a youth hostel. The entrance to the building is between 2 sex shops and there's a lot of sketchiness happening on that block. The decor was austere, to put it nicely, and the bed was like a slab of rock. Also, our room had a window to the street and there was techno music blaring until 4am, making sleep impossible. There is no parking, and when I asked the incredibly rude evening receptionist, he answered condescendingly "you aren't going to find parking for less than $20- we're in the middle of a major city." Thanks bro, we're from New York, there's such a thing as street parking. You can find an actual hotel for cheaper in the old city. Give this one a miss.
The locations as great, the hotel was great. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast they provided was delicious. The beds were comfortable enough, and as good as I would expect from a budget hotel but not exactly super comfortable. I could have had a better sleep for that reason. Otherwise though, the noise level was really low, and I was really happy with my stay in all other aspects
The wifi password was not provided anywhere.

Great staff Clean rooms Nice decor
Situated over a sex shop Difficult driving due to closed off St. Catherine but parking was close
It didn't feel like a typical hotel. It felt more like a cool little apartment. It has great wooden floors instead of yucky carpeting and great brick walls. The staff was super kind and helpful. Easy to get to from airport on the bus and close to old town.
A bit noisy since our room faced the street.
All staffs were very friendly and kind, and the room was clean and comfortable.
It was a little hard for me to take my baggage to the reception and my room because they don't have a lift.
Appearance of room and included breakfast
No elevator or refrigerator or ice machine
Everything. Great location, value, comfort.
Nothing, although there are lots of stairs and no elevator if that poses a problem for you.
cleanliness and friendly staff
Too many stairs which is too long and narrow. The area around it is full of beggars
Rooms were just renovated. All kinds of gel, soap, etc. Right next to a stage when the francofolies concerts were going on (we could watch/hear the concerts from our window! Minutes walk to the old city. Great restaurants around the place.
Only staircase to take up your suitcases (at least 2 sets of stairs you need to go through to get to any room).
Very clean hotel with extremely helpful reception. For Jazz Festival is excellent location, it being right next to entrance to festival. Do not plan to sleep until the music stops around midnight. No elevator but reception will help carry bags if needed. If I go back to Montreal I will try to stay here again.
The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They always made sure we were well taken care of.
The cleanliness,it is a small hotel, but we like this feature.Staff were very helpful.
No elevator, although there were only three floors,no breakfast area although the new area will be available soon and the air conditioning…prefer central air system.
No elevators. Lots of stairs. Tiny room.
Loved the location close to sites and activities we wanted to see. The room was prefect for our stay.
It was very hot while we were there and the room became a bit too warm despite the air conditioner. A ceiling fan could have helped to circulate the air and make the room omre comfortable at night.
Cleanliness . The staff is very helpful!
