The personnel was welcoming ; I paid for a single room and got a suite, it was well equiped with all the needed stuff to cook. The hotel was quiet and is close to downtown. It's easy to find, to park, and easy to find restaurants around. Overall it's a good value hotel. No special charm or view or nice looking room, bit practical.
Sam the proprietor Room cleaner than expected Linen clean Spacious room Quiet (no traffic outside compared to the other motels on the highway side of the river) Air conditioning (it was 36°C outside) Easy access from the highway Convenient amenities in the immediate area (grocery store, etc) No bugs of any kind!
The building is a bit dated and some minor things need attention such as the TV remote volume control and the clock alarm function didn't work. But overall, the spaciousness of the room, the fact that it was clean, with relatively recent paint, and Sam's helpful enthusiasm made up for the few shortcomings. It's not exactly the Yokohama Pan Pacific, but if you need an economical place to wash-up and sleep and don't care about frivolous luxuries, then it works just fine.
Reasonable price and very friendly management
Dirty and poorly maintained
The location is indeed good.
The couch in my room smelled mouldy. We asked for non-scented because of allergies. This was no problem when my parents stayed before, but this time there was febreeze EVERYWHERE. Even the new boxes of tissue were strong. I think they covered the mouldy couch in febreeze to hide the smell, but it was just overwhelming and we couldn't even sit on it.
The price was very reasonable. The staff were friendly and accomdating. The location was within walking distance of the town. The cooking facilities were convenient for my extended stay. The room was comfortable and quiet.
While the room was comfortable and met the bare necessities, it was clearly rundown: the toilet wasn't even screwed down properly to the floor, so it rocked when sat on. Access to hot water was inconsistant; lukewarm baths were common.
