Location not good, from a visitor not familiar with the area; needs brightening and was very gloomy, small lack of air rooms.
Rugs were old and smelled musty. Rooms were very small, had issues getting two suitcases in room. Not what we expected from a Ramada hotel; this simply hurts their overall image when booking a hotel the next time.
The room was really comfortable and quiet, which is not granted in this part of town. The hotel has a good location on Granville, one of the best streets for shopping, pubs and dinner, with easy transportation. The staff was really nice and helped us in lots of ways
It was a hotel room.
I tried to get a late check out, and asked 2 days before my departure. On the day of departure I had someone knock at the door who said I had to phone 0. I did this and the person on the other end of the phone accused me of shouting at him and he hung up. This was rude. I have a mobility problem and none of the staff would help me with anything.
big beds air conditioning was working fine hop on hop off very close
side to the street very noisy small bedrooms no refrigerator very slow elevator extra payment for parking
proximity to buses and trains, restaurants, clean, very helpful friendly staff
slow wifi & elevators
The safe in the room
Beds were too small, couldn't log onto wi-fi, no breakfast, had to pay extra for parking, no fridge, carpet was lumpy, didn't like the pillows, and the rooms were too small. Overall a very poor experience for the amount of money it cost to stay there.
One of the more moderately priced hotels that we considered. Room was a decent sized suite,
Room was very oddly furnished (e.g. writing desk did not fit on the wall where it was placed and therefore stuck out several inches into the doorway between the two rooms. The entire room was pretty shabby.
Tiny Smelly Over priced
Location Helpfulness of reception staff Free wifi
Breakfast location dim and dingy needed a refit
Clean, comfortable and great location.
The check in was efficient and we were assured we had been given the best suite despite asking for an upper level suite. The room was clean and size adequate for our stay. Location was good for what we wanted to access and convenient to Sky Train.
The staff in reception on the whole we're very unhelpful only the young man who checked us in (not sure of name) was great gave us book of vouchers, maps and lots of information. If we came to ask anything most shied away. It is not a good look to have your reception staff standing at the front door smoking. I had asked if our room would be serviced daily assured yes but two days not so. Wrong coffee left in our room for the coffee machine was not helpful. The fridge was not cold & two days I asked about it, assured that all fridges were the same as the hotel had bought a large amount , could change but to what use. Continued to put buckets of ice in each day to keep milk etc cool.
Room was not clean. Mattress pad was filthy. Small rooms. Loud cars and people on the street. Not a good price for this hotel. Would not recommend this hotel.
Location and staff prior to the problem we had.
cleaning people don't clean. We left and we had bites on our bodies. When we called later to inform them of this, they said they did not have any record of us staying there. I told them that's not the issue, the issue is clean/ maintain your rooms! they said "ok"
The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The location is central, walking distance to most everything you'll want to see in Vancity; the neighborhood itself is a bit grungy. Reminds me exactly of downtown Market Street in San Francisco before the techie invasion.
The rooms are tiny, housekeeping is inconsistent (we stayed two nights before the maids finally came), this place is much older and outdated than the pictures suggest. Worst of all though would be the wi-fi. We complained several times throughout our stay of the spotty connection but though attempts were said to be made, there was no change in the terrible connection. This was especially important to us since my husband had some work to do while on our stay and was frequently booted off Line. He ended up having to go to a wifi cafe to do work. If wi-fi is important to you, this is not your place. Also, be aware that Vancouved taxes are exorbitant. We spent hundreds more over our room rate for silly taxes here and there. Calculate your final bill before committing.
The fan in the bathroom sounded like an airplane taking off so you could hardly be in the bathroom. The staff were not the friendliest but they were helpful when we asked questions.
I'd never stay at this hotel again. The location is ok but it's right on the street where all homeless people stay. It's dirty and stinky there. Not family friendly at all. The room was super small with a window facing somebody's windows and the fire staircase. So we had no view of a beautiful city. I haven't noticed a/c in the room. What they have is an old cooling unit which doesn't make any sence when it's +35 outside and ur room is super tiny. And yes, you can't open the window. It's an old hotel so all floors are squeaky. It has a nice Reno inside though. Bathroom is pretty spacious. There is no microwave and fridge in the room. They delivered us a fridge, but we didn't get a microwave, which is a huge disadvantage traveling with an infant. Staff was friendly at the check in. They would promise the microwave which was never delivered. At the check out they didn't even ask how my stay was. All they did was giving me my receipt for $250 each night including parking. Parking.... Is the place for about 10 slots for cars. So people park that way that they block you and you can't leave the hotel when you want. You have to wait for a quiet a while. So what's the point f charging for parking if it's not secure, has no gates and camera plus your vehicle will be always blocked in the mornings?! I'd never stay there again and I'd never recommend this hotel for anyone especially for the travelers with kids.
free wifi, comfortable beds, no noise in hotel
poor location as although downtown its on a very grubby street and not a good representation of vancouver. Very tiny room, was the smallest we stayed in during our entire 3 week trip across canada. A/C was also very slight and there was no fridge
Very disappointed with room, I booked room with 2 double beds and when we checked in we got a room with 1 double bed. I called the front desk and they informed me that because the hotel was booked they gave me this room, very small for price we paid. I told them that they used my credit card to hold the room what happened to that, they did not seem to care. I will not be returning to this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone.
At $300 plus for one night... we did not receive value for money.
Even in a$50/nite room they change the towels each morning
Good location & value for money
Surrounding area shabby but lots of good eateries along the street further in to town.
