loved the bed, the room was great. in a good area. was clean and nice. very much enjoyed the staff
THE RESTURANT WAS HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! extremely disappointed in the food
Booked a room through booking.com with my debit visa then I had a confirmation number so when I showed up they said they didn't accept debit visa and they sold my room so I was out of luck....i drove 2 hrs away to find out I had no where to sleep that night...so I had to call around Toronto to try to get a room last minute. Not impressed
When first arrived. my bathroom wasn't clean, toilet had dried up stains on the seat. Was given a new room.
Room was an excellent size. Beds were comfortable and the shower (apart from the screeching noise it made) was really good.
Whilst the location is very handy, the area isn't the best. If walking towards town centre I would recommend turning left out of hotel and then the first left after that. The Wi-Fi was awful, hardly worked at all
clean and right price
paying for parking
Bed Location Clean
the price was good and you get what you pay for.
The alarm went off around 8:15 pm. I was on the 5th floor and we open our doors and waited for someone from the hotel to come direct us. No calls, no shows nothing. The alarm went on for 15 minutes before I heard the firefighters coming. I decided to down the lobby and find out waht was happenning. No one from the satff talk to me once while I was there waiting again for directions. Do we stay in the lobby go to the sidewalk? Finally and after another 15 minutes I asked the guy at the counter can we go back to our room. and he just look at me and answer. "Yes go ahead". No explanation nothing. Another guest told me it was burned toast. In the morning when I checked out there was no mention of sorry about the incident nothing.
We checked in and noticed the room had settled dust along the wall near window bed along the entire pane. When we returned a party was going on in the room opposite. This went on from 2am to 5am when finally the staff decided to react to our complaints and evict the occupants. This took 4 calls to reception. We got a room transfer to the top floor and noticed the shower head was lose. All the towels smelt of damp/bleach. We asked for blankets and were told they would be in our room when we returned. We returned to the room and got told there are no blankets left. Then just as we were about to sleep, some blankets miraculously arrived which felt like rough cloth and smelt of the bleach smell. Don't waste your money. Go elsewhere. Staff also quiet cold and rude and careless about the hotels flaws.....oh I forgot to mention the gym which is in a cracked wall cement room and the swimming pool which was described as 'big' which it certainly is not, not to mention the non working hot tub and cellar looking sauna......Book something else!!!!
They upgraded me to a king deluxe room complimentary! It was just what I needed after a long day of travelling! It was a great little suite, it made day! I will definitely stay there again.
upgraded to a jr suite
Clean and comfortable for a great price
I was able to check into my room very early.
Couldnt get wi-fi right away but later was able to get it.
Room temperature was good.
Working air conditioner was making very loud sound. The wall was not sound proof that I can hear the neighbours clearly.
Spacious rooms, near anything you could want in downtown TO, helpful staff, very accommodating
Facility up keep a bit underwhelming, felt very dark and dated (room and lobby, etc)
the staff where all very accommodating and helpful. Everybody went out of their way to ensure happiness even though they couldn't have been thrilled at working Christmas day. The room was great, decent size and the bed was very comfortable
it isn't close to a subway when carrying luggage and airport tranfers are stretch limo only. no meal options (even something easy) which was difficult when most restaurants where closed
The food there is delicious and prices are reasonable!
Evelyn, the server in the Shade restaurant (who also provided evening room service) is this hotel's best asset. Her manner, attentiveness and care were beyond amazing. She should have a BIG raise. Although we tried to express our appreciation in generous tips, we would love it if you would extend our thanks to her again. When we had leftovers from dinner, Evelyn contacted a saint in the hotel who delivered a mini-fridge to our room at no charge. That was deeply appreciated.
The greeting we received from the desk attendant on the evening of December 16 was cool at best. On the morning of Dec 17, I tried to order room service that was supposed to be available from 7-10 am at 7:03 am and was told that they were 'nowhere near ready; call back later'!?
food was good
Noise. From other guests was a bit excessive
Very easy to find, when we got there there was a slight mixup with the dates so they gave us an upgrade which was very much appreciated. The room was spacious and well equipped, bed ws extremely comfortable. Breakfast was nice but had just one option of an american style fry up, some variety in the menu is nice for people on an extended stay - the Cora restaurant around the corner is an excellent alternative (we found directions to this in the hotel room booklet). Nice area, cinema and huge supermarket within 5 mins walk, and only a 10-15 min walk from the Eaton centre.
The air conditioning/ heating unit was extremely noisy - im not sure if this is the norm for this kind of thing as we dont have it in Ireland. The wifi didnt work when sitting in our bed, we had to move into the sitting room to use it, so perhaps a signal extender would be a good idea. However, these things were minor, and didnt take away from the fact that we had an extremely pleasant stay.
Very clean and very comfortable beds!
Bar closed very early and there was no fridge in the room.
The bedroom wasnt clean, with one sock and a lipstick under the bed. They didnt change the sheets. The bed was with hair and sheets from the another guest. I´ll never stay in this hotel again.
we paid the parking cost even though we have no car with us.
