Going from the garage up the wet stairs into the hotel to the room. Also the hot tub shoukd open before 10 am to be able to go in then have breakfast before checking out.
Everyone was friendly, the place was warm and cozy, additional facilities were provided next door, we enjoyed our stay.
There were some small sanitary issues, nothing major.
The beds were extremely comfy & it was very well priced & the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had regarding banff...night life and restaurants or just looking around
Location,parking and breakfast.
Old and tired looking.Basic amenities..nothing really wrong just no wow factor.
Big room two sink
windows frecing up can't open in Winter
Great deal & great location, just a short walk from the center of Banff.
Hot tub was in another hotel. Had to walk outside to get there.
Funny, engaging staff.
Staff were accommodating and friendly
Room had no heat for first night. They tried to correct it but it wasn't fixed until the second night. Hallway noise a big issue. Lots of young parties pounding on doors at 2 am.
Our room was clean and updated. Loved having a fridge. Coffee maker and coffee. The bathroom good size. Table and chairs nice to have as well. Price was good as well.
Totally needs an update. Staff where do we start. Front desk staff very friendly. As for the senior lady in the continental breakfast area. Get rid of her. She needs to go to a People Skills Conference and learn how to be friendly to people and talk to them . Not impressed at all. Get someone more friendly and bubbly that actually likes their job. She doesn't and shouldn't be there. Floors in corridor and elevator haven't seen a vacuum cleaner who knows for how long. Very dirty. Needs an elevator as well. How do handicapped get down to the parking lot!!! Wouldn't go back there.
Booked this for my dad to stay only one night, and got a great deal in off-season. I liked the lay out of the room; king bed but still lots of floor space; mini fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, safe, lots a places to store clothes if staying longer than one night. Small private balcony. Close to downtown but still quiet location
breakfast room was small and too crowded to enjoy complimentary breakfast at 9 am; we went to the El Toro and had a full hot breakfast for a decent price instead.
Comfy beds Fast, free internet Clean Good service
Noisy, thin walls Small, tight parkade Old rooms
The breakfast included with the cost of the room should have a bit more of a selection. The coffee was terrible.as it tasted weak with no flavour and was of a low quality. A good coffee goes a long way so this is something for you to consider. If you are going to offer a free breakfast, then it should be something customers will enjoy. Other comparable locations include a waffle maker, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt etc.,
Convenient location within easy walking distance to downtown Banff. Affordable price for one night stay.
Seemed to be a continuous thumping sound through the heat vents during most of the night. No pool.
The staff was OK
There were stains in the bathroom floor that looked like the room wasn't cleaned properly from the last guest, food under the covers, the building is dated, lots of really young people... strikes me as a party hotel. We were on the Banff Av side and couldn't sleep at all with the noise from the street and the party that people next door decided to have on our shared balcony. We couldn't wait to leave
Our stay at red carpet and was generally a good experience it was a great room at a good price but the gentleman at the front desk had a bit of an attitude which I didn't appreciate,
the morning breakfast was not much to us. there was cold cereal and apples and not much else. We ended up finding our way to the Tim Hortons to fill us up.
Hotel is becoming run down. Lobby floor uneven, my bathroom fixtures were loose, the vanity light fixture had bare bulbs, the bathroom sink and tub were very slow to drain and road noise made it difficult to sleep without earplugs.
Recommended to stay in this hotel
The hotel has its own parking. The bed clothes are clean. Our room is on the street but we didn't hear the noise. The facility is old but generally OK. It is worth what you pay.
price with comfort and the front desk staff were awesome.
Breakfast a little plain.
The breakfast was good except for the coffee was extremely weak - add some more coffee to your coffee maker
There is a high definition box for the TV but no high definition channels available -what's the point?
Spent two nights in Banff for conference at Fairmont Banff Springs. Splitting rooms between 2 sites brought great value. Both rooms comparible in quality. Free parking turns out to be a big plus in Banff.
Not that clean
We have been to Red Carpet in several times and we have no complaints. The breakfast most just had bread, cereal and juices, but it's nice if you're going to Banff on a budget.
Close to everything, good price, clean
It's older and needs some upgrades
