Price was really cheap for a one night/just-passing-through trip. Hot water was abundant. Lots of channels on tv. Wifi strong.
The bed. So hard!!! Very uncomfortable to sleep on. Broken toilet. No counter space in bathroom. Location far from Collingwood but close enough to Wasaga. There are no shops near by.
What i like is I got room at very last minute as everything was full on long weekend
Wasn't clean old dingy comfetors bed spreads washroom without bath towels and unpleasant smell. My neighbour was quite loud that didn't let me sleep.
The bedding was clean and beds were comfortable.
Very poor place to stay. Not at all worth the money that was charged. Bathroom very small, toilet did not work properly. Only word to describe this motel is gross!
Price was right, large unit with kitchen area and table & chairs, off main highway, clean
Older motel but overall good value for the money
Staff very helpful.
The staff was friendly and our room was clean. It was further away from the main beach so it was quiet and peaceful.
The beds were not very comfortable and our window had a broken lock.
The fridge and tv worked and so did the heat. The toilet flushed and we had running hot and cold water.
Everything else. The bed was hard. There were spiders camping out at bedside. The room felt dingy and unkempt. Deserves its 2-star rating. It was dry and a place to sleep. Nothing more.
Good place to stay if you are visiting both Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.
Bed was a little hard. I am sure it would be fine for back sleepers.
The owners were very accommodating and helped us out, when needed anything. We also liked that in the motel, there were other rooms that could be a better fit (full kitchens and a couch in the living area and separate bedroom.)if we were to go back to stay in that area. We liked that it was clean. The air conditioning was great, having a fridge and a microwave helped.
The only things we had a little problem with were that there was no kettle or a coffee/tea maker. I myself don't drink coffee and tea however my friends do and it was a little bit of an inconvenience. the other thing was the beds may have been too soft as we all woke up with an aching back, while we were there..But this may not affect someone else.
quiet place not far from Wasaga Beach, free parking, friendly staff
The Manager and his family were very kind and they were doing their best. But I think they need to spend some money on decent bedding and linen, and updating the decor and bathrooms, and other improvements to justify the money they are charging.
Very hard pillows - 2 x very flat hard cushions stuffed into a nylon/plastic lined pillow case which made my head sweat. Very hard cheap mattress. Very noisy, trucks arriving late at night and leaving very early morning. Flies in room. Dirty, stained carpet. Worn curtains and dirt stained walls, doors etc. Bathroom very small, it was very difficult to use the toilet - it was facing the side of the sink and was right up against it so it hit my knees. Bathroom was full of little flies and there was mold around the bathtub. Very old worn out decor - it needed painting and holes fixed. The TV was very old and had a lined grainy picture quality. No where to walk to. The beach was just marsh with no sand and very water logged. There were no convenience shops nearby and no coffee in the room. The toiletries in the bathroom looked very cheap (dollar store quality) so I didn't use them. The office smelled strongly of curry and was full of flies. My sheets smelled slightly of curry. The blanket was worn and full of holes and it smelled. High price for a very uncomfortable night. For the same money I found a much higher quality place further down the road.
Room size and value was good. Quiet property they are trying to fix up and keep clean.
Great rate we got from booking.com esp since we just needed a place to sleep for the night. We knew what what we booked (read the reviews here) so was not surprised to see that it's a typical one floor strip motel where you park your car right in front of your room door. We were relieved to see that it met our expectations. Rooms were adequate size for 2 people. The owner was friendly, helpful and provided info about the area. Location was convenient from the main highway and only a few mins from Collingwood. Room was clean, including the bathroom, which was well-lit and had a nice showerhead. Didn't notice any weird smell after airing the room out (like you sometimes smell in some old motels). There's a picnic table/ bench and swing set in a grassy area behind the office which people can probably use. Even though we were in the 3rd room from the road, it was pretty quiet. A nice restaurant just a few blocks down the road, very convenient as we arrived right at dinner time. We could put the leftovers in the fridge available and heated it in the microwave in the room for breakfast. Owner was kind enough to give us some plastic cutlery to use along with the free coffee available. Definitely recommend it for folks who just want a place to rest that's clean, quiet and affordable. Nothing fancy but good enough.
Not a lot, quite satisfied with the place except for a few small things. There was no deadbolt. The lock is old-fashioned simple door lock so my wife felt a bit uneasy esp since the bed is right by the door. The bed (which was a bit too hard though the pillowcases were nice) is placed so close to the door, it's only maybe a couple of feet from the door so you could walk into it if you weren't paying attention as you enter with luggage:-) There is no table by the fridge and microwave to eat at. There is a desk but it's across the room in a nook by the bed and only has one chair. Eating a meal on the bed isn't a good idea. These could all be solved easily enough. If we could give a few suggestions - just rearrange the room and switch the bed and side table with the tv cabinet, fridge and microwave. Add another chair (even a spare stool) to the one with the desk. Use a memory foam mattress topper if new mattresses aren't possible. Could use a safety bar in the bath tub .
Clean and comfortable place, stuff was really friendly (we checked 15min later than we should, but there was no problem)...certainly accommodation worth of its price...
Great location, minutes to both Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, fridge and microwave in the room worked great, really powerful air conditioner, friendly staff.
Aging property and rooms. Bare bones basic, definitely could use some sprucing up.
The price was right and clean.
We found the bed very hard, and a shelf in the bathroom would be nice.
it was very nice, fridge, and microwave in the room, everything was there.
This place is just a simple no frills motel to stay in Collingwood. The family who runs it are really nice, and the cleaning service is prompt with delivery fresh clean towels daily. We stayed here for the 2014 Elvis Festival, which does drive up the rates of accommodations. It was a tad pricey for what you get however probably one of the best rates during the festival in closest proximity to town being a short drive away. Our room had cable TV, A/C, wifi and a mini fridge that was really handy. Aside from a few cosmetic things about the room, we enjoyed our stay. It did the trick.
My main complaint with our room was the bathroom situation. There was no counter space which made getting ready - particularly as a performer very challenging. Had to store most things on the floor and there was no place to hang towels either. The shower was oddly constructed - seemed like it used to be a closet at some point. Although it was nice and hot and the water pressure was fine.
Was Clean, fair Price, Handy location, Caring staff,
Owner very friendly.
Phone and table lamp did not work. Television had line's running across the screen. Walls heavily damaged. Toilet too close to sink.
Wasn't clean, realy old and small room. The front door couldn't completely open because it hit the bed. Too expensive for the condition of the room
I liked that since i arrived the owner wanted to make sure that both me and my daughter were going to be accomodaded properly and we were happy. Also there was coffee at the lobby/office in the morning that was a plus. I also liked the fact that there was a small fridge and a microwave in the room as this way we got to keep our drinks cold and warm up some food. This was my second time staying at Relax Inn this week as i had gone up there 4 days prior as well. Because the owners are so friendly and helpfull i would certainly go back ip there agsin and i totally recommend this Motel to anyone. The price is awesomr compared to some other places around.
I didn't like that as soon as you opened the door some bugs/mosquitoes would go in as i ended up killing 4 or five of them but then again when you stay close to the lake and forest this is going to happen.
Location was good, price was ok, was very clean
Left hours before expected because the bed was so hard we could not sleep (and we're not picky people!)
Wifi worked good.
Everything. It was so dirty that it was uncomfortable. I could not even brush my teeth without gagging. It stinks even with air freshener. The bed felt dirty it felt like there was bugs. The carpet felt dirty. The sink and shower smelled horrible! For what I paid, id rather sleep in my car. I paid about 100 but this motel in my opinion it is only worth 20$ per night. For the parking spot.
