Staff were very professional and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding with great selection and the staff each morning were friendly.
Elevators are small, not enough, so make you wait for a long time. Balconies are unnecessary, and they offer no privacy (you can go easily from the balcony of one room to that of another; also the doors to balcony do not seem to be safe enough, for it is easy to break in.
I put together a last minute romantic trip to Montreal and got a great price on a room. I was worried that the last minute hotel would let me down, but the location was great, and the room was perfect for our needs. Everything was clean, the kitchenette was surprisingly well stocked, and the whole thing was smooth. Downtown, walking distance to old town, subway station adjacent -- park your car and take the metro everywhere. They were even helpful with an early check-in as we arrived earlier than most travelers probably would. The breakfast was great too.
Tiny thing, but the parking garage and stairway down to it were both more than a little shopworn and rundown. Certainly didn't feel unsafe, but everything else was tight, so it seemed like an odd omission. Clean it up and scrape off the cracked old paint to bring the subterranean layer to the level of the rest of the hotel.
Hook up to Wifi is easiest I have experienced in a hotel.
The parking garage has a height limit of 5 feet 6 inches - so I had to drive to another location to park, and then walk back. OK at this time of the year, but not in winter! I will stay elsewhere next time due to parking issue.
Location, view, amenities.
It's spacious and comfortable, kitchen convenient and well equipped. Great breakfast in the am.
Waiting for elevators all the time. Parking garage is too low for minvans and full size SUVs, and there's no room to park in the street. Only 1 bath for 2 bedroom apartment. Inconvenient when you're travelling with 3 women! In the US the R.I. have one bathroom for each bedroom.
Professionalism of staff The gym and facilities Location close to metro cleanliness breakfast front desk service staff were always helpful
The lifts got really busy and at time impossible to use with convenience the window sliding mechanism was not working well there was a little water leakage in the toilet tank (leaking inside the bowl but still wasting water and making a little hissing noise) The AC would not go below a certain degree (but its Canada and usually a cold place)
Bed was very comfortible. Liked the little kitchennette. And the breakfast was very nice.
The overall hotel needs some updates.
Eveyrhing..... Breakfast is great
When I didn't get the room serviced, I got a call asking if I needed anything. I liked the attention to detail. Great location, easy to get to the metro and close to grocery stores.
location / breakfast plan / staff /
the elevators- 2 is just not enough thanks goodness for the stairs and that we stayed on the 7th floor
Friendly and helpful staff, who provided great suggestions/recommendations! Location, close to public transportation, shopping Living and kitchen areas Breakfast
Noise from other rooms
location, view of Mount Royal from the suite, breakfast , new carpet, conscientious cleaning staff / cleanliness
air conditioning system is old, inefficient an very noisy - even when we switched out system off, we couldn't sleep due to noise of units from other suites. Plus there was no air conditioning at all in one of the bedrooms. We also got charged extra $40 per night over the original quote, even though we cleared with the hotel beforehand that we are 4 adults and got the price quoted by Bookings confirmed by hotel staff.
Need larger glasses
Location Clean Good value Staff, friendly and helpful Comfortable
Very slow elevator
loved the way you were treated just so nicely and if we needed anything we got it or were told where we could fined it.
parking was a bit hairy but other than that great trip.
The hotel is too old, everything is so old. You do not want to stay in a hotel where thing are not well maintained. The Air Condition in the room was so warm, we could not sleep. The maximum cold you get in the room with AC is 74 Fahrenheit. This is not AC. This is actually heater. AC is supposed to give at least 63 F. The photos of the hotel are completely different. The reality is the rooms and the property is so old. We booked to stay 5 nights. However, we checkout the next morning. We had paid all the amount in advance and it was not free cancellation. And the reception first refused to refund us for the remaining nights. However, I threatened them that I will call the police 911. Because it is mentioned in their website that all rooms are air conditioned. But they are not air conditioned at all. All rooms were so hot. We had booked two rooms and then check out after first night and got all our money for the remaining 4 nights back we said we are going to call the police. anyhow. This is the worst hotel I have ever experienced in my life. Never recommended. I would rather stay in Montreal streets.
Good kitchen, lots of choices at breakfast, good gym
Good sized apartment tye room with full kitchen and wifi. Great breakfast. parking close by and reasonably priced. good location could walk into the city center.
Friendly staff Nice, well equipped rooms (although no room safe and limited safety deposit boxes). Decent breakfast buffet (included in our rate). Within walking distance of several restaurants and tube station.
VERY slow lifts (fortunately we were on the 5th floor so could use the stairs) Poor quality internet connection (although it was free)
location, cleanliness, size of room, kitchen. nice selection at breakfast
Very slow elevator. Difficult to find a seat at breakfast on some days.
The pool was okay and the room was nice.
Waiting times for elevators of 30 minutes. Extremely crowded and noisy. Personnel were not very friendly. Price and quality were not in balance.
Location is near subway, but in quieter location. Full breakfast buffet was an unexpected bonus, hotel was quiet.
I booked hotel by phone, for 3 people. It would have been nice not to have to make up the sofa bed and call down for pillows and sheets. Pool was green and not clean. Doors stuck in room. No lock on bedroom, no bathroom fan, toilet seat was old, sink and bath faucets were nasty, light switches were dirty. Only two elevators for a lot of guests. Way over priced for what you get, at least when I stayed.
We were impressed by the friendliness and availability of the excellent staff, the quality of the breakfast and overall cleanliness of the hotel. The children really enjoyed the (albeit small) pool too. There is a nice sitting area downstairs and the hotel itself is in a prime location. We had several requests and all but once were fulfilled in a more than satisfactory manner. We also used the babysitting service and were impressed with Rachelle - she was very kind with our boys. Thank you Residence Inn for making our stay enjoyable!
The wait for the elevators can be long: there are only two in a hotel with 20 floors to it. A porter service would be nice - it was difficult to maneuver the trolley with luggage for a family of five and cram it all into the elevator. I would suggest getting a room on the lower floors where you could have the option to take the stairs. Also, although I sent a couple e-mails before arriving at the hotel, I never received confirmation of a baby bed for the room or for a late check out. We were able to get the baby bed, but were informed that they didn't do late checkouts, which was disappointing as our flight left at midnight.
