not clean & expensive
Our room was upgraded to private room in the first floor. Great! Close to place des arts, bus is near and take you to berri uqam Provides elevator for higher floors
it is located on a hill, so bringing heavy bags is difficult.
We arrived very early in the morning after a long flight and had made a last minute booking at UQAM. Even though it was 2a.m. there was a friendly and helpful person at the front desk, no hassle checking in, and wonderful clean basic rooms waiting for us. Great introduction to Montreal.
Liked everything. Great value for money.
Location is great for metro
Room was very hot with no a/c (only fan which wasn't noticeable). Parking is very expensive next door as they charge $10 for 12 hours on weekend where others charge that for 24 hours. $40 for weekend is outrageous. I know this is not their (QUAM Residence) problem but when I asked about parking they should have been able to tell me more than there is a number to call as it is next door. For the money paid it was not a great deal but not totally unreasonable. Staff could be better though..don't pick this industry after your education.
- great location
- We were a group of three, so we booked a double-room with a cot. However, they prepared for us only a small double-room. When we pointed out this mistake, we were assured that everything will be OK in ten minutes. And the result? They gave into the common room (for three rooms) the old, cracked and half-broken bed, no bed linen, duvets and pillows... Their idea probably was that we put this "horror cot" on our room (size 3m x 5m, a wardrobe and a desk inside = no extra space for anything!!!). Finally, one of us had to sleep on this broken bed in a sleeping bag, in a common room, disturbed by "colleagues" from neighbour rooms.. It wasn´t a really nice stay. - I cannot recommend this accommodation. In Montreal there are better hostels for better prices than Résidences UQAM Ouest. Great location is not everything. - It was too hot in the room, weak fan was more for "garnish".
Price and location.
No household furniture, no clean in 5 days, no ventilation, very small room.
when i check out, they charged me more money directly from my credit card and did not admitted.it. their attitude was so poor. the worst place i have ever been.
The location and the price of the room.
That there was no a/c in the room. My Budgy and I were sweating the whole time.
The location was great. Close to downtown. Near everything
No towels available, had to wait until morning, and no air conditioning
No wi-fi in the room
Location was great, lots of cheap parking nearby and close to Metro station and lots of restaurants and shopping.
Staff was disorganized and couldn't find my reservation until I called Booking.com. When they did find it, the room I reserved was no longer available and we had to take two rooms sharing in a six bedroom apartment. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable, room was hot and ceiling fan was not working properly, walls were thin and it was very noisy having to share the space with so many other people. For $68 a night per room, I don't think it was good value for the money.
Environment of the room and the check in check out times
Poor facilities , not even close to what were described.
Location and space
Noise and fire alarm which would switch on the moment you decide to make a coffee
If you're either: under the age of 30, or desperate for a downtown location and your regular hotel can't fit you in, this will get you what you want. The staff are excellent, but the facilities are moderate for the price, especially when you consider that parking in the nearby p lot costs $24 a day. Puts you into the range of a 3 star hotel for a less than 1 star dorm room.
No ac Fan in room didn't work a lot lot lot of young-ish students making a lot of noise 24 hours a day.
Behavior of some staff. Few were very helpful while some others were not.
Unlike a hotel it was very much like an apartment with two bedrooms with locks on the doors. The rooms felt very cosy and welcoming
Shower very very small. Can hardly move around in it. The staff kept confusing our stay duration and would randomly come inside our rented apartment. Privacy and security was barely felt.
Location kitchenette in room
A large group of young students were on a trip and stayed at same residences, they were extremely noisy and unrespectful towards other residents and kept at it until early morning hours.
Good Location, kind of cheap, cheap nearby parking.
not clean, no air cond, awful mattress.
Nice place for what it cost per night
Could be air conditioned
No air conditioning, only a fan on the ceiling. In July very hot, very basic student accommodation. Mattress could have been better. Noise the whole night from traffic on the street.
Go for it...location, location, location. $20 per 24hr parking. Dorm rooms but what the hey...get out and Enjoy the city at your doorstep :-)
That I forgot to bring dishes. I think the fact WiFi available on 1st floor only should be known.
Staff was polite & helpful. Location great - was able to walk to nearby attractions & restaurants. Rooms were clean for most part.
Wifi should be available in every room as should a basic television (doesn't have to be fancy). Had some tiny ants on floor in room.
Ideally situated in the city center close to festival area. Very good internet connection.
No air conditioning, can therefore be hot in summer days.
Excellent location, good price and parking onsite.
No wifi and airconditioning in the room.
