location and student ambiance
came knocking on my door twice at noon forcing me to check out
every thing was in a mess.most of the time the fan did not work in the room and i had a very terrible sleep.cleanliness was absolutely absent in the room and the bath room.it was my worst experience residence wise in my 70 years life.
-Cost was minimal. Perfect stay for those on a budget. -Staff were friendly and, although a bit lackadaisical at times, got us what we needed. -Location made it easy to walk anywhere. Also right beside a dépanneur, which helps for beer. -Room was very 'no-frills', so a perfect place for those who don't intend to spend much time in the room anyway.
-No air conditioning. Offset slightly by the ceiling fan and openable window, but still made for some stuffy nights. -Request for an extra bed had been confirmed prior to check-in, but upon arrival we were told they had no extra beds. Ended up sleeping on a mattress on the ground instead.
- cheap - comfortable
- ceiling fan isn't enough to cool the room; can wake up sweaty
so hot, no AC so noisy no utensil bad matress indifferent staff
location friedly staff
If it was the fall/winter probably a great stay. However it was way to hot in the summer months.
Price. & location
Temperature, there was no air conditioning or air circulation.
There is no air condition Very small too expensive
The location was excellent for visiting the city center.
I don't think the young lady at reception understood how to help customers. I knew I could not remain parked out front, so I asked where to park. She told me "at the university," but gave me vague directions about driving around to the right. I didn't find anything, so I parked in a dubious lot for the night at $25...
Good location for the price
The fan should have been cleaned up for dirt which flew around and landed on the bed and desk
Not very clean. There was blood on the curtains, it was hot, no TV as listed on the advert and the bathroom sink was clogged.
Good location for Place des Spectacles, Chinatown, old port.
This is a good place if you are on a budget. The room was clean. The bed was not very comfortable but was ok.
The only inconvenience is that there was no air-conditionning!
Small Unclean Smelly Hard beds
VERY unclean, they tried to change our reservation to another room farther out of the downtown area. NO toilet paper, no cleaning materials, broken coffee maker, no towels (we had to ask for new ones every day), the bath tub and kitchen sink drained very slow so we had to stagger shower times. The bath water backed up into the kitchen sink. We were there for 4 nights and the room and garbage was never checked on or changed.....simply gross.
- location was good, but would have been better to pay a little more to stay somewhere clean
- the washroom had dirty towels hanging, had not been cleaned, random hairs on floor and sink -bedroom floor had not been mopped, felt dirty
The staff was very helpful, especially if you attempted to speak French. I liked being close to the University and within 5 blocks of the metro, a 1/2 block of the city bus, and 5-7 blocks of greyhound bus. The environment is very safe to walk, even alone at night. I liked the layout of the private studio--very thoughtful--bed frame with storage drawers, desk w/great lighting, 3ft tall refrigerator, stove, closet area, creme/yellow walls w/blue contrast, hooks on the wall for clothing.
I dislike it when a room is advertised as a studio with a kitchnette, but when you get there with your food, there is no way to cook and clean. There was a lack of cooking utensils, knives, eating utensils, cups, plates, pots/pans. And there was no dishwashing soap, sponge or towel. The shower was about 2.5' x 2.5', standing room only, literally. There was no a/C. There was an overhead fan, but I had to keep the windows open at night and Montreal traffic was 24 hours a day, so it was hard to get a good night's sleep. Also, turns out there is a sport facility around the block that guests have access to, but they forgot to mention. It would of been nice to take a swim given the 80 degree f plus weather.
The staff asked me to pay cash but actually they charged my credit card, making me pay twice. I've been in contact with them for a while and they have never refund me so far.
the washroom isvery clean
No A/C. Very noisy if i open the windows.
They advertise internet, but there is no wifi- you need to bring an ethernet cable
Incredibly good offer for the price. It is my second visit in 5 years. It delivers what it promises. It is a University residence, not a multi-star hotel.
My room faced a construction zone so it was noisy from early morning. I had to keep the windows open due to no air conditioning so the noise woke me each morning. The one morning I needed to wake up for my flight I never got the wake up call I was promised
Quiet, clean, comfortable. A lot cheaper than the hotels listed by my conference website. Good location.
It was really noisy every night , no air conditioner, bed very uncomfortable, my food was stolen from fridge
