I liked that this place was out of the ordinary ( a house where you rent a room and share a restroom with complete strangers) and that it was located in a residential area with downtown main attractions just 20 min walk away. They were always out of toilet paper

The staff here were incredibly, incredibly rude - like, to the point of insulting me when I brought up a concern I had about the confirmation process. The rooms are small and cramped. The showerhead was broken. DON'T STAY HERE.

Lots of interesting things to see. Well maintained. We had the entire mansion to our self pretty much, with the exception of a lovely couple from London England. Beds were very uncomfortable, complementary breakfast was nasty.

The ambiance of the room was fantastic, perfect setting for romance. It was a little tacky, sure, but as long as you go into it with an open mind you will fall in love with the place. Downstairs on the main floor was absolutely stunning and super comfortable. A very nice place to meet new people if you want to. We felt very safe and very happy there. Antonio was extremely helpful and understanding when we had to check in late (8pm) due to being stuck in traffic, and we couldn't have asked for better service. There were no 'extras' like soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Also parking is tight because you need a permit for parking on the street due to the location which an extra cost, but not a huge problem. The jets in the tub didn't work for us, but after speaking with Antonio he said there was a 'trick' to using them - I suggest that he put up a note to instruct people how to do this.

It wasn't as bad as its reviews said it was. Way, way over priced. Horrible linens, bad bathroom, lousy breakfast.

The owner was argumentative when we told him our bed had springs that stuck into our backs. He eventually gave us another room.

the location and the gentlemen running the establishment was very friendly. The service as we had some things that we asked for and they either were not delivered or delayed plus the bed was not comfortable.

Meeting Antonio, was fantastic. He made our stay very comfortable. The service was fantastic with fresh breakfast in the morning. The mansion has a cool vibe. A must stay while in Toronto .

Nothing, it was horrible. The house was creepy. The food was so yucky that we didn't even eat there. It's just a really unkept and weird house!

Tony and the staff are very friendly. Our room was very comfortable and good value for money. We had to go up one floor or down one floor to a bathroom. However the showers were hot and refreshing. Breakfast was quite adequate with juice, yoghurt, choice of cereals, fresh fruit, muffins, eggs, sausages, hash browns, toast, jam, tea & coffee. Romantic Mansion is most unusual and old fashioned, with paintings, old furniture, ornaments, and elaborate furnishings. Parking was the only real inconvenience, but if you get your car in to the park next to the police station early enough, it only costs $2/night. Internet access good. Enjoyable stay - thanks Tony! Pam & Terry from Australia Only getting up early to move the car, or pay for more parking. The tariff is cheap so walking to the bathroom is a minor inconvenience.

Amazing but somewhat eclectic collection of museum quality antiques on display. Each item beautiful and unexpected in fairly budget B&B Limited number of bathrooms. Only 2 bathrooms for 9 rooms. However, to be expected in an old house, and the age of the house was part of its charm.

Location was close to where I was staying. The room was clean and the bed, comfort-wise, was not terrible. Building was not in good condition. It was obvious that the proprietor has tried to give it a particular look but perhaps a tad too hard. Items of the décor meant to give it an "antique" feel cover every square inch of the house, making it look cluttered rather than opulent. Also no consideration was given to maintaining continuity of time period or country of origin. French Renaissance is mixed with British Colonial, mixed with ancient Roman, mixed with far east. It comes off slapped together and a little unsettling. The items of refinement that would be expected at a place like this were absent. The bathrooms had been decorated rather than renovated. The breakfast was sparse and not fresh. I was only in town on business for an overnight, and I booked last minute just as a place to stay so I wasn't expecting much of my accommodations. Thank goodness.

we loved everything. It was very quiet and serene and a perfect escape from the bussiness of toronto. The décor was classic and not tacky or cluttered. There was always classical music playing, very romantic and calm. No kids which was great, the room was very nice, not over the top like some of the photos but i guess those were suites, still gorgeous though with detailed crown molding, interesting architecture and a massive crystal chandelier. shower was great, good water pressure which is always nice! breakfast was good too, some hot options which were nice and unexpected. overall i would most definetly come back, the price for location is insane and it's probably one of the coolest hotels i've stayed at considering it's interesting decor. loved it!

Nice furnicture, looks like a ghost castle in the nice way :) No receptionist so you need to have a phone to call them, quite far from the tourist area but easy access, no option for double room for single use and very very small room.

Romantic Mansion Toronto is a quirky, full of character hotel which has to be one of the best kept secrets for accommodation in Toronto. If you're looking for modern then this isn't your hotel but if you want something which is packed with character and charm then this has it and then some.

It was a beautiful house with friendly staff. I was really cool for my friend and I to stay and it was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to check out. As well I thought the breakfast ws great with lots of things to choose from and even some hot options. I would definately stay there again. I found that the Tv wasn't working properly but I couldn't find anyone to help. But that might've just been me :)

The location is the only thing I enjoyed. I strongly suggest to not stay at the Romantic Mansion. The decor is tacky, tasteless, cheap, and creepy. The breakfast is not fresh and there is never variety. Lastly, the innkeeper was rude enough to completely forget who I was when I went to breakfast one morning. Spend the extra money and go somewhere better...it is so worth it.

Excellent location. Romantic Mansion does NOT have AIR CONDITIONING!!! Also the breakfast that was included with the stay was horrible. There isn't a fridge in the kitchen so all of the dairy products were room temperature.

Full of character! Certainly not like an identikit chain hotel. Friendly staff made us feel welcome. Location is a way out of town, but there are frequent streetcars, so not really a problem. The room was a little bit small, and the bathroom was shared, but also this wasn't really a problem.
