Great location Fantastic bell men Comfortable bed Excellent bathroom Aesthetically pleasing decor
Front desk staff on check in was unfortunately rude, rolling her eyes several times when i needed to clarify The 2 Suite bookings we had. At 930am, Before our 12 noon checkout, the cleaner had already started preparing the room nd cleaning it. Yet in the days we stayed, the cleaning happened until 5pm! Not great especially when we had not vacated our room.
Modern design, location
The St Paul is starting to look a bit tired; no functional chair in the room; poorly lit halls
The location is amazing, and near a good tube station (on an excellent line). Perfect for central Montreal. Rooms are smart and large too.
This hotel really is without heart or character. Despite the great location I would never stay here again. It's bland, the staff lack warmth, the design is cold (and I like 'design hotels' and stay in them often). Corridors are furnished in very dark colours and have low level red lights, making the place incredibly depressing as well. I would not recommend it. The location is hard to beat but it isn't worth it. I was here for a week and was glad to leave. It's a terrible shame. No warmth, no identity, no personality.
the desk in the middle of room was inconvenient. Every time I hit my head in the pendant lamp.
the rooms are comfortable, spacious the location is great the bar is fun, great staff, good food and drinks the staff is very nice, the door persons very welcoming
the blinds on my windows were broken and impossible to open and close properly, but no big deal
Lobby was very tired looking. Not sure why curtain was blocking elevators. Walls badly in need of paint. Furniture should all be replaced especially the tacky faux fur sheepskins thrown on back of chairs. Bathroom the most poorly designed of any hotel we've stayed in. Desk clock had no light to see the time during the night. No proper lighting to read in bed. Elevators & hallways were so dark you had to wait for your eyes to adjust just to see where you were going. Might be acceptable to the young but definitely not for the young at heart.
Very unique minimalist interior design. Spacious room. Lobby staff very friendly and attentive. Relatively convenient to center of Old Montreal and the port.
On 1 of our 2 days we returned to the room around 3:30PM and it had not yet been made up. Had to sit in the lobby for 30 minutes.
Location was great, right next to old Montreal and ten minutes walk to subway. It was quiet at night. The room was kept very clean - nice linens.
Lighting in the corridors was very dark and unpleasant. The room did not have sufficient night tables or night table lighting for two people sharing a room.
Good atmosphere in the hotel . Very quiet .
View on fire step ,
We arrived at the hotel from London the night before and the following afternoon, we were pretty jet-lagged. We went back to the hotel around 4pm but although we left the 'pls clean this room' tag on the door, the room wasn't made up. We called the house keeping but no one answered. The reception told us that they don't clean most rooms till 7pm.... Well, it's not a cheap B&B, so the need to rethink this policy.
Pls see above.
Dark black halls poorly lit with red lights-really creepy
Splendid restaurant HAMBAR!! you have to eat dinner or lunch there! Cosy terrace te take a drink or eat outside
We thought to have a great view on the 10th floor , but that was disappointning.Rather small room. We couldn't get access to the internet, despite a wifi code.
The location was great, within walking distance to anything you need.
Great staff, friendly and efficient. Great location.
Breakfast was a bit basic for the standard of the hotel. A bit more choice would have been nice though what was in offer was a good quality. Some areas of the hotel looked a bit "tired" like in the breakfast room or corridors carpets and could be freshen- up a bit ( paints in particular)
Prices were outrageous - I got engaged at the this facility and the experience was not warm or welcoming. I was so excited to celebrate- the staff was marginal at best- the valet staff-was there best asset - full of knowledge of the area and helpful
the valets were exceptionally helpful
Hallways were very dark
Very comfortable beds. Good bartender in the Hambar.
Showers were sub-par. Looked out of date and didn't fit with the level of quality of other amenities.
The oversized tub & good water pressure Bed was nice.
The dark hallways & dark elevator. It was like they're trying to hide dirt or other inefficiencies by providing very poor lighting.
Loved the location, free wifi, decor and lighting. Also, nice stereo system in room.
Carpet in halls and rooms need replacing.
Modern decor, location, wifi
Staff young and not trained completely. Little repairs needed in the room like scratches, tv wire needed adjusting.
The rooms were very nice and comfortable The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions to local restaurants!
No coffee maker in the room and no coffee in the hotel(
Clean, conveniently located, staff were friendly and helpfull. Calm atmosphere. Comfortable beds.
Very little space in bedrooms, fine to sleep but nothing else. Mainly we are happy to pay a premium for a hotel with character that offers something more. We found the experience at this hotel very limiting. No common area to socialize and relax. Decore was interesting but that alone does not, in our mind, warrant the premium price for a boutique hotel. All in all, nothing particularly special.
Decoration Organization of the room
Great location...comfortable bed
Furniture is uncomfortable.
Very clean and uncluttered and within walking distance to old Montreal
The housekeeper came to clean our room at 3 pm ... My daughter and I left to go downstairs and when we returned..the housekeeper was gone but the door remained open. We called down to the front desk to report this. The housekeeper returned with her supervisor apologized and left. We are extremely lucky we weren't gone for the rest of the night or we may have lost everything we had brought with us. We thought it was a great hotel. It wasn't cheap. Not sure if we would stay there again.
