I really liked the location of the facility since it was in a nice neighborhood and not too far from downtown Halifax. I liked the fact that staff at the check-in desk were so helpful and the price was very good for the amount of space.
I have to admit that dorm room mattresses are not that comfortable. The evening was cool, so we weren't too uncomfortable, but there was no A/C.
A good central base for Halifax. Wonderful breakfast! Masses if choice. Excellent value for money if you don't want the frills attached with a hotel stay.
No equipment in the kitchen (we had an apartment) although we were aware thus would be the case. A long walk to Town centre if on foot and all uphill on the way back
Located on lovely campus. Free parking. Large room. Fridge and microwave.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment, with kitchenette. We all really liked the location. Great value, especially for families with children. The included hot breakfast was a nice addition. It's not a fancy hotel, but was nice for what we wanted. It was clean, too. We would stay there again.
Construction on our side of the building, which started at 7am, but we were going out touring the city, so it got us up and moving early. lol
Location, atmosphere, choice at breakfast, free wifi. Comfortable beds. Interesting views of the football field and beyond.
Lack of aircon, lack of utensils in kitchen
Good value for the money. Lots of space
Everything. The food was excellent, very nice staff and a superb gym. Halifax was so friendly.
The thin walls of my accommodation
Breakfast included! And a respectable selection of food too. I appreciate the recycling containers provided, the free wifi service, the use of the gym facilities and the location.
The bathrooms looked like they had been well used which is to be expected in a dorm. Bring flip-flops to shower in.
It was a two double bedroom apartment with its living-kitchen. It is pretty good for the price. It was clean and quiet, and the breakfast (included) was fine.
It's not far from the center, but not really close...
The staff at the counter were great Good spread for breakfast.
I am concerned that the toilets don;t have proper disposal for sanitary napkins. Open bins unhygenic. No facilities to make tea/coffee or toast very constraining. Not enough food options in the university.
extremely helpful staff breakfast has lots of choices
dated kitchen that has no utensils or pots and pans there are laundry facility but you have to buy a minimal of $10 card
Clean rooms, decent accommodation in this price. Front desk staff is good.
Breakfast is served only from 7:30 to 9:00. Worst part they even don't let u enter. Cafeteria staff is rude. No services near like food joints etc and on top, you don't get anything inside. They will give u free breakfast as if they are obliging you and giving a donation. or a charity
The price, the location, the breakfast, the cleanliness
No air conditionning
Room was hot
Saint Mary's University was not too far from the city center and had an excellent breakfast for guests. Bus stop was next to the campus so there was an easy access everywhere but also walking to downtown was a good option. The staff was helpful and there was plenty of services available.
Not really anything to complain.
It was nice to all have our own space. Double beds were a welcome surprise in the dorms. Breakfast was awesome! Something for everyone.
No common area or TV room access. Hours advertised for breakfast when booked differed upon arrival.
We had 3 spacious bedroom unit with adjoining kitchenette for a reasonable price of a hotel room. Included breakfast was great. We were very happy with our accommodation in St Mary's.
There is no A/C and no dishes/pots/utensils in the unit which were not a problem when we were there as the weather outside was cool and we had been camping and had all the hardware for cooking and eating
it was too much of a 'hospital' like setting...not very welcoming
We loved the affordability, location, breakfast, and room layout. It was a gorgeous place to stay, and a perfect for a family travelling with young kids!
It would be nice to have the option of renting some kitchen supplies, like plates and cutlery and a couple of pots and pans for cooking. The kitchen is great, but only if you travel with all of your own cooking equipment!
Clean, walking distance to everything. Great value. Would do it again.
People used the emergency exits without realizing it made a lot of noise, specially at night.
We used the university as a base for couple of nights it was very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. Plenty of choice without any rush .
the location is pretty close to Halifax downtown and close the park.
It is a little bit noisy during my stay because of the summer maintenance of the sport field.
great budget saving option
dorm matresses were very hard
We are a family with three teenagers. We stayed in a five bedroom dorm so each of our children had their own room which was great. You won't find better value for a family. The breakfast was great and the cafeteria looks new and was very clean.
Our only problem was we were on the top floor and for some reason didn't get much cold water. Only warm and very hot. At the end of our stay we realized we could fill our water bottles in the cafeteria.
