Immediately upon entering the staff was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful! We were able to get a room upgrade and it was beautiful! Everything we needed the staff was able to provide including suggestions for dinner!
The instructions on how to use the bath, yes it was a little more complicated then simply turning on a faucet. TV guide listed 999 channels, room only got about 9 of them, it would have helped knowing which we could get.
Location - excellent. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable room. One receptionist helped us with an excursion and was very helpful. Waiter at breakfast seemed overworked given the amount of guests and limited food, but still did a great job at customer service and making us feel welcome.
Had to check in an hour late (at the second time of trying) because 'the room wasn't ready' - not much in the way of an apology given. Hotel seemed to be pretty shut down over winter - bar was closed, limited choice at (a relatively expensive) breakfast. Walls and floors paper thin, could hear everything, but understandable due to being an old building.
The location can't be beat, right in the heart of old town! The staff is full of young, enthusiastic and helpful people who made our stay amazing.
Some of the rooms don't have windows to see outside.
Location was excellent. Free wifi was good reception staff were excellent.
The lack of dining area or lounge to sit with a group of people. We were travelling in group of 8. Breakfast was very limited and they ran out of milk so cereal is not an option.
location,elevator,breakfast breakfast service 27th and 28th December
We were followed out of the breakfast room with a verbal request for a tip on 29th from the server In other b and b's,tipping is done at end of stay. We misunderstood hotel policy . Thought it could have been handled more tactfully
Location! Friendly staff. Clean, modern, European-style rooms. Has elevator.
Everyone is correct about the location being the very best, and on a pedestrian street where there is no truck noise. The room was updated but still had the brick/stone wall from eons ago, the fireplace may have been electric but added charm. Breakfast croissants were fresh, the orange juice tasted fresh etc etc. Perfect in every way.
Although there is an elevator, there are some rooms you have to walk down 2 sets of 2 steps each. If this is an issue for you, be sure to let the reservation folk know so you get one of the many other rooms. And bring compassion for the overworked waiters in the breakfast room; very nice people but too many guests for them to handle.
Very nice room. It was modern; yet it had that country feeling.
Booking.com showed pictures of the restaurant and our first impression was the lack of maintenance of the overall place, and that was only open during limited hours in the morning for breakfast, staffing was not appropiatte
Lovely stylish hotel with a great service
No drinking water in a room, difficult tprrature regulatoon in the shower
The location is great...
Our room had Windows facing the walls... It was dark. We had to wait a long time for the breakfast. Only one staff for all guests. The reception lady had to come and help for breakfast.
Great location. Nice room.
Breakfast or moreover the guy who does breakfast. I have to concur some previous comments I'd read before booking the hotel. On the first morning he arrived 20 minutes late, not good for us as we were going skiing and wanted an early start. On the second day we ordered wholemeal toast and were informed they'd run out. We were the first in the bistro for breakfast!!! This is bad management. Obviously as comments of this nature have been made previously, the manager either doesn't read guest comments or isn't interested.
1. Limited selection of breakfast menu, it should be buffet style. 2. Room service didn't even fold our pyjamas, just threw them aside to the window sill.
Hotel was in an excellent location, and the value was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Bed&pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The room was so hot and we tried to turn the heat down but did not work. The door to our bathroom was broken and therefore could not be closed.
Loved the location and the cozy room. Great modern bathroom and a view of the square.
We were disappointed that the hotel restaurant that we read about was closed. No big deal though. Plenty to choose from in the area!
Just in the old town. Couple of minutes walking everywhere in old town! Nice service and delicious breakfast.
I had an amazing time at Hotel Saint Anne. I stayed there for 3 nights. I planned this trip to relax after exams. The hotel was quiet and nice. Location of the hotel is perfect. It is steps away from Quartier du Petit Champlain and Rue Saint Jean. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great.
Location and comfort of accomodations. Staff was great.
Location excellent. Room and bathroom modern. Good space in bathroom. Breakfast was good.
Minor details: Service fee for breakfast 15% asked for. two little room problems were reported (sliding door to bath room was not easy to close; sometime there was a touch of sewage smell).
The staff was very friendly.i came to quebec city to explore the old cities, great location to do that.
Breakfast is not actually free. Would be better if it was more of a continental breakfast where you serve yourself
It was superbly located, walking distance of everything. Friendly staff, cozy rooms and very clean. Breakfast was lovely - seated and served a choice of cereals then bagels, toast or croissants accompanied by fresh cheeses and meats, yogurts and fruit. Would definitely recommend and would stay at Hotel-Sainte Anne again.
The breakfasts were good enough. The croissants were the best part. Coffee was weak. As per other reviews, our server pointed out that service was not included, so while I wasn't surprised, I was still a bit put off. Rooms were immaculate. We noticed the maids across the hall cleaning one of the rooms and they were very thorough! The previous guests must've left quite the mess, but they really scrubbed and cleaned it up. The front desk staff are polite and efficient and the location can't be beat.
This hotel looks great on paper and our room was super cute but there are small details that are irking me. Our room had one closer where the hangers were so high, we could barely reach them, and yet when we went to the bathroom, the hand towels were hung so low that we had to almost crouch down to dry our hands. We solved the closet problem by putting the ironing board in the closet and using the hooks from the ironing board holder as a coat rack. Also, I feel like mugs should be used instead of teacups because the keurig made horrible coffee with those little cups. Our room had a wiring situation which may have been resolved by now but the 2 light switches are wired in such a way that one controls the night stand lamps, clock radio and the entrance mirror while the othe controlled the overhead light. Everytime I got back to the room, tv clock radio was blinking 12:00 and at night, since the entrance mirror lit up most of the room, we just shut it all off and used our phones as alarm clocks. It's little details that made me feel like not enough thought was put into the design of the room. I left with a bittersweet feeling.
The location, room, view (of church and chateau) and bathroom were all very good
The breakfast choice was a bit limited. I ended up with the same croissant every morning...
I felt that it was false advertising on your part to show this hotel with a Bistro cafe. Not only did it NOT have a restaurant open, for dinner which we wanted after a long days travel, there was also no bar. We had to go out to eat.We were informed that it was the winter season and if we wanted dinner and a bottle of wine we would have to go elsewhere!! Although breakfast was included, and the restaurant opened for that, we were chased out of the restaurant by the waiter who informed us that service was not included and that he expected us to tip him!! We could have stayed at the Hotel Frontenac for almost the same price and there plenty of bars and restaurants open over there. It was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel or stay there ever again.
early checkin, lovely large room, good continental breakfast, great location. liked everything
8 of us 2 nights and liked everything.
