The guy at the front desk was really nice. That's pretty much it ... I felt unsafe because my room was in a corner behind some fire exit. the elevator door opens while the elevator is still moving like a quarter of the way. I pulled out the plug of my laptop from the wall socket and the whole socket came out. I was washing my face and the facet head came off. The channels on the tv are locked and you barely get any. The headboard which seems o be held on the wall by sticky tac almost fell when I touched it....

Friendliness of staff. Diligent housekeeping. Kelli, the good waitress at Moxie'S. Convenient location to train stop. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the uselessness of one of the bedside lamps, which wasn't plugged into an outlet because the outlet was too far from the lamp. And it was also right next to the chair, which would have been an ideal reading location.

The parking and the restauarant. The card system is crazy, upside down and not functioning half the time in the room door and the elevator. The front desk staff was cordial but not friendly. 16 dollars for parking is crazy and a rip-off.

The price and location were good. The front desk (night manager) was very good. The pool area was run down, and dirty. The pool was cold, and the hot tub was the temperature of what a pool should be (not at all a hot tub). There were no towels there, and there were many used ones laying around. There were dirty dishes on our floor from the time we arrived until the time we checked out (18 hours), one of the glasses was broken. We were instructed to set out room service dished in the hallway, they stayed there for the duration as well. The entrance, front desk, and restaurant are nice and clean...but that is where the class and cleanliness stopped.

Location: great access to transit, in particular the C-trains Something went wrong with the coffee maker on Day 2. Don't know what happened, but the coffee spilled over without actually entering the coffee pot itself.

I liked the cleaniness and the friendly staff. The price of this place was very reasonable. I would like to suggest a few things, such as adding a fan for the washroom. The lock in our bathroom door was also broken. Also the fan for the heater in the bedroom was loud. The curtians also get in the way when the fan is turned on so it is poor circulation. Other than that our stay was good.

Moxies served nice food but not at breakfast time. Receptionists mainly cheerful and helpful. pleasant city hotel but the city transit was noisy even through double glazing. Water too hot for bath/shower as cold tap could not be turned.

Th staff were helpful with temporary parking of my hire car. Also with storing luggage etc as they should be but it is not always so. The service at breakfast was terrible - a long wait for each item although the place was empty. In contrast the evening service was good albiet the place was busy. A colleage complained there were no grap handles or mat in the bath since he slipped

Central location and reasonably priced compared with others in the area. Room was quite gloomy and in need of a refresh. Washroom quite cramped. Air conditioning didn't work too well and I had to move some furniture to reach the controls. We were only staying 2 nights and happy to move on.

The staff was awesome. The lobby was professional/luxary looking. I have stayed at many Sandman Hotels and this one was my first disappointment; it seems that nothing has been done to upgrade the rooms, yes, they were clean ... but they were dated. Also, little areas are 'falling down' within the room; there was a hole in the bathroom wall, it was poorly lit (even with all the lights turned on), the carpets are showing their age. The elevators have a feel of being 'banged' up and dented. There was a time when i would recommend a Sandman Hotel to my friends ... but now i'm not so sure.

The location was excellent. This hotel is all about "lipstick and rouge" - the lobby looks great and your initial contact with staff was good. I found the front counter staff to be borderline friendly , almost terse that you were interrupting their very hectic paper shuffling. The restaurant did not open as scheduled on 2 of the 5 mornings I was there. Very disappointing for a business person running on a set schedule. The rooms were comfortable, but dated in the bathrooms, bathrooms could have used a good scrubbing. The pool didn't seem heated and the jacuzzi jets did not operate. I would rate my stay as "ok" 2.5 stars out of 5, only because the value was in the amount paid.

“I was pleasantly surprised at the maintenance and quality/decor/comfort of the rooms for the rate I paid. Best Western is known at a budget hotel which usualy means run down, old dirty furniture with minimal service. The traveler reviews on Trip Advisor were very positive as were the photos, which is why I picked the hotel.” Comfree, Beaumont |
