Sandman Hotel Edmonton West  

The Cleaning person ( Gaylene ) was wondeerfull , friendly and cheerful and did a great job keeping my room clean . Location is central so it was easy for me to get around .

Very run down / construction dirt and parking was horrible due to construction vehicles and mess . Internet access was horrible , just not a nice as other Sandman locations .

Nice room. Very well organized and neat.

Pool was a bit too deep for our grandson who was with us. The parking is very congested. There is construction occurring there however.

Clean, staff was excellent and friendly. Price is reasonable.

Wee hours of the morning there was a sex party going on in the hot tub, about 4 adults, all out nudity,and yes, sex, there should be security cameras at the pool and a night time security. Poor front desk girl was doing her best to take care of the situation , it was by no means her fault at all, she was very friendly.

Overpriced, in need of upgrading. Restaraunt was rediculus.Will never ever stay at a sandman again.

Location, ideally for shopping to the west ed mall as well as easy access to the hay 16 for travellers heading north.

The rooms. On the comparing the current photos from the website booking.com have provided to the actual room does not match. And the quality of the room was pretty poor. I had originally booked a non smoking room but the room the front desk gave me reeked of it. I asked for another available and unfortunately the lady on duty that evening wasn't much help. Also the carpet red stains, the walls were peeling off, and a 42" tv(?)....try again lol. I've stayed here before for quite a number of years and never really had a problem....just to me personally, the hotel as a whole is slightly loosing it's glory days. Or maybe the hotel is going through a retro fit dunno but apart from the few likables....I Didn't really enjoy the stay and may consider booking somewhere else on my next trip.

location was good , price ok ,

the room that we stayed in was way to noise , there was a service room below the room every 90 sec a loud fan keep coming on made i very hard to get any sleep, also the wifi internet was worse then dial up would take for ever to load a single page , no good if you are trying to do any work from there. Cleaning staff was rude , room was run down things rugs , walls, towel hangers, no small fridge to keep any thing cold , chair look like it was from the 70's. i really dont think that i will be back to this hotel .,

The hot tub wasn't hot at all!

The room was way too small. Our balcony opened up and was shared with the room next to us! We went onto our balcony and if we were dishonest people would could have walked into their room as their window opened onto our balcony. We could have walked right in or vice versa. Not safe!!!!! We had no coffee. The pool was closed & highly unsafe. It had ceramic tiles around the edges of the pools and down the stairs from the pool, with nothing for grip. I slipped into the pool & my husband slipped and fell down the sharp, pointed, ceramic tile and twisted his ankle and hurt his arm. We were only fortunate that he did not crack his head open, which could have easily happened seeing it came to such a pointed corner and were super wet & slippery. We were very grateful that it was not my friends 7 year old daughter that was with us, b/c that could have been fatal. No exaggeration. And no, my husband was not drunk when he fell. Not impressed at all & would never recommend it to anyone. I almost feel like we should get our money back for such a horrible expierence. My husband is still limping 2 weeks later.

Room on the web, was different then what you got, rooms not clean, door lock was worn, had to keep trying to get in for at least twenty minutes before, room conditioner was banging

Convenient location

Rooms were quite hot and stuffy - air conditioner was not very effective

We had to upgrade our room and pay an extra $ 20.00 so we could have a fridge to store my insuline in. We were told the room we booked did not come standard with a fridge. In this day and age I find that ludricous and would not recommend any Sandman hotel to anybody if that is the way it is.

The location and friendliness of the staff. Also, the cleanliness of the rooms.

The air conditioning in the rooms isn't sufficient enough for the rooms. After staying here a few times now, felt that the rooms do get stuffty, whether you are poolside or not. Other than that everything is great.

There was a choice of restaurants adjacent and nearby, shopping was only a short distance away. Access to highways and ring road was not all that far away. Desk gave help with directions to a specific location. The pool and hot tub were located in a nice setting and were very clean.

Nice, clean, quiet, affordable.

Pleasant stay, friendly staff, clean rooms, great price!

There are no elevators!!! Room was on the third floor, had a lot of luggage that we had to haul up the stairs.

Room was not as clean as expected. Lots of dust on window ledges, trim from curtain holder falling off, carpet was very damp first two days, resulted in a smell. In future would request room on higher level to see if there is a difference.

Schmutzig und unfreundlich. WiFi angeblich durch zu viele Fernsehteilnehmer gestört. Lächerlich!!!

When we showed up to check in, they gave all of us the wrong rooms and weren't going to refund us the money. We ended up leaving and staying somewhere else. Days Inn was so much cleaner and did not smell.

house keeping is very good, and I like some restaurants near by.

arranging all rooms to surround swiming pool is definitely a failure for this hotel. we felt very damp and mouldy once stepping in. what is more, the window toward the pool could not be closed firmly and air conditioning was not working properly.
