We stayed at the Sandman because it gave us the option to self cater should the many excellent restaurants in Vancouver not excite our tastebuds. We found that the rooms were well stocked to cater for the self-caterers, with all of the utensils that you would expect. The view from our 22nd floor balcony was excellent, and gave us both a city and ocean view. The noise levels in the Davie street area were low to non- existent at our height in middle September. The Davie street area is good for local shopping, with the more upmarket Robson street just a 10 minute walk away. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the Sandman Suites to anyone, period. An excellent hotel in a great city.

This hotel is super convenient for its location with everything you could need so close by. Staying in a suite also meant a good deal of self- sufficiency that I prefer and enjoyed. The convenience also has a draw-back: the east-side of the hotel overlooks/hangs a very popular night club that is open until 3am every day. The night life sounds (music, people, sirens etc) are all heard with clarity. Although the suites have been renovated very tastefully, the windows were not done. There needs to be double glazing installed and all seals checked. Staying on the west-side with views of English Bay would no doubt have given an even more pleasant stay. Oh - and patience is required for the idiosincratic lifts!

I stayed at the hotel for 12 nights, and the place is amazing. The suite where I stayed was very clean, the kitchen very well equipped with everything that you need to make this place your second home. The rooms are cleaned every day, even some of dishes left occasionally in the kitchen sink, the housekeeper has done for us( Many thanks for that). I highly recommend this hotel for anyone. I think they should have a breakfast package.

Very spacious and clean room. I hate to say it but the shower liner didn't stop the water from getting outside the tub. It isn't a plastic liner and when I got out of the shower there was tons of water on the floor. I needed to use all the towels availble to clean it up.

The location was good. Have never stayed at the west end, nice area. The suite was nice, we stayed at thr 22nd floor and the view was fantastic. The matress was too soft and I got a back ache. Although we stayed at the 22nd floor it was pretty noisy from the traffic.

The price was initially 99.00 per night but I had to change one night and the cost went up to 129.00. I was told that the Sandman would honor the original price by the booking.com people. When I checked with the Sandman, they said that it was booking.com that would not change. Had I phoned the Sandman first, I would have saved 30.00 per night!

The location, and the facilities in the hotel were excellent. My bed mattress was worn out, and needed to be replaced, the hotel staff recommended a flip to it, but that didn't make a difference.

Location was excellent. Many shops, restaurants etc. Four blocks from the beach. The suites were about twice the size of a hotel room. Felt like a home away from home. Service was excellent.

Breakfast was only an elevator ride away from the local eateries and outstanding fruit market.Downtown shops a bit of a walking distance but worth it! Local buses excellent/ very friendly staff! 24 hr.Pharmacy shop right across the street. Local supermarket within walking distance. English Bay a short walk downhill. The fabulous Waterfront a 20 mins walk or busride with a well appointed walkway around the bay. There's a generosity of spirit within Vancouver city which makes the tourist feel welcome. Such a pity about the additional taxes on every item.

Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. Room was dirty. Started a heavy allergic reaction within 4-hrs. Requested a different cleaner room, but the staff didn't provide a different room. We dragged the bed to the sitting area to sleep. We went for a big presentation without any sleep!! The elevators didn't work with the cards. It was a very unpleasant stay.

Location was the primary reason I stayed as well as the price. The decor was very nice (above average). I also enjoyed the full kitchen and living space of my suite. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with my requests. Cleaning staff was very friendly. I guess I would have to say the noise of outside traffic. Usually downtown hotel use 2-3 layer glass on their windows and doors to compensate for the noise of downtown. I know this building has been retrofitted into a hotel...but this should of been considered during the design phase of the project. Consider enclosing the pool area for year around use.

The hotel is centrally located in an area with large choice of shops and restaurants. You can walk to Stanley Park. The hotel is not very nice from outside and gives the impression to be old. When you are inside everything seems different and a large lobby welcomes you. Our apartment was fully furnished:one queen bed, a sofa bed, kitchen, two flat screen TVs, washing and drying machine (which is not common inside the apartement, sometimes they are in the common areas), a terrace overlooking the town. A parking is available (the entrance is on the rear side of the building).

The location is good and is only minutes away from many attractions in Vancouver downtown. The room features washing machine, which is very helpful to us. The isolation of the noise from streets is very weak, especially in the night. We can hear very clearly to people talking at 1~2am.
