What I like most was the view from our suite in 21st floor,it has ocean and city view,I also like its location for it is close to everything and very convenient for me and my husband, next is their fully equipped kitchen, next is a washer and dryer in our suite that makes us feel at home and satisfied with what we paid. And I also like the people in the front desk especially Miranda, she's really helpful and kind.
I just didnt like the size of their bathroom its tiny and the sink in our bathroom is a lil bit clogged also.
Great location...Everything you need is right close by, a nice walk to the beach, restaurants and markets/shopping. The weather was great and the hotel pool was a big plus. The balcony and view of the harbour for the fireworks was another big plus.
Yes, depending on the time of day, you had to allow extra time for the elevators. The long weekend in August is a very busy time, but it was all fun.
Elevators were not working properly. Waited several times for 15 minutes. Many guests complained.
I really enjoyed the view and having a pool and how clean it was! Looking forward fo future stay. :)
The issue with the elevator and how it seemed to not work properly. The lights blinked off and on as well. The fact that there's no hot tub.
Good accommodations and clean.
Elevators were way too slow. We stayed at this hotel on 2 separate nights at the beginning and end of one week and the situation was never resolved.
Slow elevators dated decor
Excellent location. Very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the upgrade to a view suite. Nice, very well equipped kitchenette. Two TVs a bonus.
Don't bother with washer/dryer combination. Takes 4 hours and does NOT dry clothes. Slow elevators, only 2 working and heard that had been the case for several days. Not enough coffee and sugar, but could have asked for more.
Outdoor pool on a hot day. Great kitchen that even had a dishwasher! Nice view of the ocean Lots of action on Davie Street
Very slow and hot elevators. 10 min wait each time. Needs better maintenance. Lots of little issues with the room ie closet doors hard to open and close, patio has mold on it from Vancouver weather and paint peeling on railing
location was great as was the price. out door pool was a nice change and was refreshing.
super slow elevators
location size of rooms
The location was great - you could walk to any part of the city from Stanley Park to Gastown. And a lot of choices for food right outside the hotel doors.
The hotel was a bit run down. Only 2 of the 3 elevators worked. And the towels by the pool were thread bare.
Location, everything was close quaters
Loads of noise. No sound proof windows. Was on the 7th floor and my 7yr old could not sleep due to noise. I love the location, my best advice is for sound proof windows
The view and location
Upper level suites are very quiet in a lively part of town. Good location to everything. Clean and well kept. Rare air conditioner in Vancouver.
appliances are dated. Could use a fan in the room.
Lift was very very slow! Air conditioning in the roo. Very noisy
Room cleanliness was excellent, ocean view from the 18th floor was great. Staff was exceptional.
Only two of the three elevators worked, they were also very slow. Key cards for the elevators were a pain to use. For a one bedroom king it was small and tight. Hallways were very narrow. The bedroom at night was very muggy and would wake up in the morning with condensation on the inside of the bedroom window.
We stayed on the 'dog floor' and our pooch felt quite at home as did we. I always stay at the Sandman when I come to Vancouver. It is situated in my old neighbourhood and always feels like 'home away from home'. The suites offer all one needs. The toaster wasn't working and we had a brand new one delivered within the hour.
The elevator was incredibly slow (as always) so plan in extra time for any rendez-vous!
My fourth time staying at Sandman Suites! I was early for check-in and they offered me a room on the 16th floor. I requested a higher floor and got the 22nd floor. Great apartment...loved the hardwood floors. Seaview was amazing as always.
The elevator waiting time was even more extreme this time due to only 2 out of 3 elevators working. Also, the stand-by light on the TV in the bedroom was so bright, I had to cover it up.
Location: walking distance from shopping, sights, beach, forest. Well equipped suite(full kitchen, inc dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, coffee maker..). Lively area with lots of good small coffee shops, bars and restaurants, small shops inc excellent bakery, fresh fruit market. Good views from upper floors. Efficient WiFi.
Room fixtures and fittings bit elderly. Airco (vital during my stay) very noisy and not very efficient. Only three lifts for more than 200 rooms on 24 floors, slow and one out of order for several days over very busy weekend.
downtown location. the maintenance staff came to fix the light even though it is already very late.
property is not well maintained. we entered to find a dark room with 3 broken lamps. Vehicle noise from the road is loud and audible all day and night. Bathroom is tiny. Detergent not provided for washer. Internet connection is patchy/ unstable.
The room and facilities The location Guest service Price
Rooms are a bit tried but are manageable Noise proofing could be better in the room
Suites with full kitchen, balconies, location and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
The air conditioning didn't properly cool the main room. The elevators were TERRIBLE. Long waits and only two were working the entire time we were there.
air conditioning, slow elevators
Air conditioning kept me cool during a very hot weekend - really liked that. Not just one room, but all of them. Comfortable & clean, quiet too.
The elevators were brutal. I waited 20 minutes (might have been more, but I didn't check my watch right away) on the 15th floor before going down the stairs. One of three elevators were out of service and the other two were loaded most of the time. It was the only part that truly reduced my enjoyment of the place.
The staff was so helpful and caring. They accommodated all of our needs and made our stay memorable. I took my Granddaughter who is 22 to see the fireworks for the first time in our life in Canada. It was the best time ever. Everything is located right on Davie street by the hotel. I recommend it highly. We had a great time.
