Maureen's great attitude....she was 'there' for us but gave us privacy as well. Opened her home to us .....

What wasn't to like?

The staff was amazing, went above and beyond! Gay friendly is essential for us, and it was comfortable and clean and relaxing!

We stayed at Saraswati for the weekend - the host Moreen was very friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful, clean, just perfect for a peaceful getaway yet still located perfectly for visiting the Picton town and nearby wineries. She was able to accomodate a vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free breakfast which was very much appreciated. Thanks Moreen, we hope to be back again!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our weekend - Maureen was wonderful!

This place is not for anyone who enjoys privacy or any of the basic conveniences. We were told immediately upon our arrival that we couldn't use scents because the owner was allergic so we abided by her wishes. The room that was provided was extremely small, didn't have a tv or even a lock on the door. We had to share a bathroom with another couple and the dining area only had one small table that had to be shared by all. The owner didn't provide us with clean towels for our second day nor did she make the bed or tidy the room. We had to use her unscented shower gel that didn't foam and no body lotion or other basics were supplied. The breakfast was awful. We were not asked what we would like. The owner scrambled up a few eggs put them in a bowl and plopped them down between my girlfried and I along with some bland rye toast. I asked the owner if she had any ketchup and she said no because she doesn't like ketchup. Wow is she not in the service industry and does she not think her guests might appreciate a common condament like ketchup for their eggs? Even though breakfast was paid for at the b&b, given our experience the first day we decided to check out early the second morning around 8:30 am and skip their breakfast to go into town and pay for a real one. Best move we could have made. Anyway, if all of that wasn't bad enough, the real kicker is the e-mail I received from this quack later on in the day saying that she had charged my credit card additional $100 for the cleaning cost she incurred to eliminate the pot odour she says she smelled in our room after we left. My girlfriend and I don't smoke cigarettes or do drugs (pot or otherwise) and we definitely didn't do that in her room. Needless to say I was extremely upset about these false allegations this fraud came up with. I e-mailed her back and tried calling her but to no avail. I have contacted my credit card company and they have assured me that they will reverse the charge.

Quiet location, a very short drive to downtown Picton. Extremely clean, and very friendly hosts.

The host is incredibly friendly. The location was great, in a quiet and pittoresque setting. Best sleep ever in big, comfortable beds. Breakfast in the morning was a really treat with homemade jams and beautiful fruit arrangements!

I would ve liked better quality soap and shampoo in the shower.

The owner operator is over the top helpful and friendly. my car window broke while we were en route. she phoned around for me and found out where i could get it fixed. she also drove us into town to a restaurant and made our reservations for us. it is a quiet place, and the simple but delicious breakfast she made for us was served when we asked for it to be served. very accomodating.

The hosts are more than friendly! They really want you to have a nice stay and nothing is too much! This is relaxing at it's best. The house is tastefull decorated. Great stay!

I will be going back

Maureen and Helene were absolutely charming and went out of their way to accommodate my special dietary needs. Great conversationalists with lots of interesting topics and we felt like we were sitting at home with long lost friends having a chat. I would highly recommend Saraswati and will definitely be back. Saraswati is the ideal place to relax, it is quiet, clean, breakfast is superb and the hosts are fantastic!

Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Tolles hausgemachtes Frühstück. Das Haus ist sehr schön eingerichtet; das Doppelzimmer ist traumhaft; das Zimmer mit den zwei Doppelbetten ist auch schön, hat aber leider kein Fenster.

Very nice hostess

No input on meal choice or options. Never asked preferences.

Our hosts made us feel at home and we could make ourselves comfortable throughout the house and grounds - like staying with old friends. Beds were great and we nodded off to the summer night sounds coming through the open windows. - nice change form the drone of traffic or air-conditioning.

Maureen and Helene are warm and welcoming hosts. Easy to make conversation with and have interesting life stories that they are willing to share. All in all a great experience. Have recommended their b&b to everyone since our stay.
