size of rooms was great. Continental breakfast was great - good service and pleasant staff.
Going to the neighbouring Inn to check in and out. Carpets could have been spot cleaned and room edges vacuumed better.
Pool , hot tub area somewhat dirty
Bed was uncomfortable. Coffee maker did not work. Breakfast was nothing to write home about and supply was low. No hairdryer. Shower pressure was terrible.
enjoyed our stay,nice hotel,convenient location,
no fridge or microwave, would have been nice.
Beds were super comfy. We had a king suite and we're surprised by how huge the room was. The only complaint from me is that the window was right above the bed (very high ceilings) which meant the light from outside shone right into my face when I was trying to sleep.
The hotel is dingy, with holes in the worn thin, buckled carpet and worn paint. The "superior" king suite was tiny and smelly. The bedding was worn and thin, with no extra blankets or pillows in the room. The wifi signal was very weak, almost impossible to download anything. The parkade was oversold, no parking at 11 pm and none in surrounding streets, and no one at the front desk. Worse, I became very ill with extreme vertigo and couldn't leave the room until my husband could drive in from Calg. to get me, and until I could walk without vomiting (we left at 4 pm) and they charged us for an extra night (albeit at a reduced rate). They were still making up other rooms as we left, and they had plenty of vacancy that night, so there was no reason to charge us. Overall, a very unpleasant stay in a depressing and unfriendly hotel.
I got a great deal on the room
The continental breakfast was VERY disappointing.
We liked the fact it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast room was relaxing and the staff were very attentive.
We were unable to use the tv to watch a sporting event as it was to old to accept the adapter we had brought with us. The corridor was pretty noisy at night. I think we heard every noise through our door until after 2am.
Room size. Clean.
Not comfortable bed. Not fridge and microwave in room.
The continental breakfast was good . Inside hot tub was clean.
Attitude of front desk staff was poor. Long wait with no acknowledgment even when 2 staff were present. When asked questions about where to locate areas, a toss of the head and " over there" answers. Few smiles and not caring attitude even when we tried to engage them in conversation:(
The room and bathroom were very clean, not even a smudge on the faucets or mirror. The building was fairly new, heated underground parking a bonus. The girl at check-in was very helpful and friendly.
For such a large property, it was surprising that it doesn't have it's own hot tub, pool or breakfast facilities. Spruce Grove shares the facilities from Voyager Inn next door, a considerably lower quality hotel. The hot tub area at Voyager is in a dingy basement, rusty and dirty.
They over booked so we were "upgraded" to a larger room, however it was located above the parkade entrance and the noise of the overhead door kept us both awake
-Customer service was awful - they would not lend us a pen and paper. -Your lucky day if someone was at the front desk -Rooms/bathrooms not clean -Outdoor heated pool = NOT HEATED to the temperature they claim -the bed and pillows extremely uncomfortable
Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
No fridge in the room. Depending on the time of day you arrive to check in you may have to check in at the hotel beside. Sign in the window of Spruce tell you to go next door. Can be a little confusing. Where you check in is where you need to check out. There is a connector underground to get between the 2 hotels. Hot tub, pool and restaurant are all on the other side.
I didn't like that our room was right off the lobby and it was very noisey
Just wish it had a mini fridge in the room, because their was lots of room for one
when arriving, sign on front door said check in was at the was at hotel beside it, we were early so could not book in yet, came back at 4:00 oclock and went to the hotel that we were told to check in at and stood in line for 45 minutes only to find out we could now check in at the Spruce Grove Inn reception desk.
Restaurant and pool were at the next hotel and beds very uncomfortable.
Nice parking, clean.
Very Poor mattress ! Poor TV channels.
For the price, accommodations were good enough. Huge room with lots of space to walk around (for claustrophobics this inn is great). Bathroom was clean, lots of hanging space for clothes, tv was old but did the job.
Heating was a bit too loud and i wish they provided a mini fridge in the room.
Borderline sketchy. Beds were visibly deformed. Checked for bed bugs as the cleanliness was queationnable.
The underground parking
There was never anyone at the front desk. When we first got into the hotel to check in we had to wait 15 mins for someone to finally come to the front desk. We got our room and it was right by the exit to the above ground parking and the elevator bank so it was fairly loud. The shower would have been nice if there was a shower curtain long enough for the curtain bar and actually had a liner, cold air kept flooding in because it wasn't long enough on either sides. There was no ice machine on the main floor so you had to take the elevator up to the 6th floor for it. The vending machine had 3 chocolate bars and one bag of chips and the rest of the slots were empty. We didn't check out the hot tub because we didn't expect much from it anyways after everything else. All in all I don't think we will stay here again. I'd rather spend the extra 50 bucks and stay at a nicer place where there's actually front desk staff there at all times.
Is was in Banff
A few maintenance issues.
the room had ample room, with two sinks.
Front desk greeted us with a frown, followed by a list of rules. There was no friendly welcome to banff, but rather a strict set of guidelines that threatened our every move. I wasn't even allowed to take my snowboard through the hotel and into the garage, without being threatened I'd have to pay a hefty $200 fine. When checking out, I had to wait 5-10 minutes to be helped because the front desk clerk has to slowly pick at and take out a staple from a stack of papers she had miss-stapled
Comfortable bed, helpful staff although not enough staff.
No fridge,no where in the facility to meet as a family, understaffed at reception-took 45minutes to check in.Understaffed at breakfast;hot water not updated regularly enough.
