Score from 514 reviews Very good
good location, nice staff, clean room, good free wifi, had small refrigerator in closet, had a/c window unit which worked fine
neighborhood can be a bit noisy & crowded (is kind of a party district), and some drunk/loud guests in the hotel at times too; room is spacious and clean, but dated/basic
Cleanliness Friendly Staff Excellent Location
Breskfast not available
nice staff, washroom and bed are clean, quiet place .
no breakfast providing
Location, generous room size, good bed
We were in Montreal for a major swim meet . The hotel was ~ 2 blocks from the Metro station that was one stop away from the pool. This is just what we needed for early morning events . The hotel was great - clean , quiet and near restaurants.
Nothing really . One wake up call request was missed . Other than that we were very happy there and would certainly book there again.
Shopping, walking and dining!!
Dirty streets, foul smells ugly people.
Clean, comfortable, spacious room and close to metro.
Staff & location.
Location, Staff, Room
Large room, well informed staff eager to help. The found us the best place to stay in Quebec City Citadel for the cheapest rate! Very grateful! Thank you
The Location is great and the rooms are big.
The Ac in our room was not working and we had a terrible night. However, we got a $20 bucks discount for the inconvenience.
noise at night caused by ACs of other rooms and by room neighbours
Very close to everything. Room was clean and decent sized. So many tv channels. I was expecting everything about the room to be small since it's a downtown hotel. I was very happy to get a king sized bed and full bathroom.
The room wasn't ready for me at 2pm, and when I needed to stow my heavy luggage away, I had to carry it down a flight of stairs and then lift it into a locker. I also had a problem with the key card. But they were very apologetic and even knocked the price of my room down because of the problem.
This was my second stay at Hotel St. Denis and I liked it just as much as I did the first time. It's easy to get to from the airport - just one block from the bus/metro. It's a short walk from the Convention Centre, the Old City, St. Catherine St. and there are loads of places to eat also within an easy walk. The staff make you feel that you are staying in an Auberge or Inn not a chain hotel. Plus, they tolerated my relatively poor French without ever making me feel bad. The rooms are large enough that you don't feel cramped. I really appreciated being able to leave my suitcase in a locker on my last day.
A minor thing: still couldn't figure out how to properly work the TV remote.
The location is perfect, very close to subway and the room is very clean.
coffee machine isn't working and there is no refrigerator.
It,s very clean, and near from the city. The staff was very friendly and the parking was an uderground parking for 24 hours,
Cleanliness and central position in Montreal. Good value for money. Very helpful staff.
the rooms were big it was very clean
we had rooms 116 and 316 and they had a view of a wall. because of that 116 was quite dark. the bathrooms were small the airconditoning was loud
liked the fact that we could leave our luggage on the last day while we explored old montreal. also liked the fact that the toilet was separate to the shower.
room was a bit muggy. there was no hanger or hook behind the door in the shower to hang clothes.
Right around the corner from St Catherine Street. Clean, tidy, neat, up to date. We will stay again!
Looks a little sketchy from the outside and there's not much of a lobby/ lounge.
staff very friendly
neighbourhood a bit quiet
We like that this hotel is clean and safe. We have stayed a few times and have never been disappinted. There are no services but you know that hence the low cost. The staff are friendly and attentive.
Location was great with easy walk to the Old Quarter and Jazz Festival areas.
Security/unsupervised street access seemed a little dodgy at times.
location is very good. the rooms tho very small, are a good value. it's simply a no frills hotel. staff are friendly.
a few more amenities in the room would be nice. parking is a little crazy with a garage a block plus away. they ran out of ice in the machines and didnt replace. also they dont have safes in the room which is bad. gentleman at front desk never told us about the comedy festival that we fell upon. a/c in room is in the window. their website is outdated.
The room was adequately sized, and bathroom amenities were satisfactory. Staff were very friendly and spoke good English.
Whilst the location is handy for local attractions, public transport and shopping; it also seems to be a hub for the homeless. Although they were not particularly threatening, there certainly was a large number, so travelling by foot makes you prone to begging. Whilst this does not detract from the service at the hotel, it does impact the overall experience.
