Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa  

Loved having my morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the wildlife marshland preservation area. Room was modern with all amenities. Grounds had beach area, pool area, gym, dock and boat rentals. Also beside yacht club. Lovely restaurant next door.

Hotel bistro/cafe wasn't open when we arrived and there is really only one restaurant within walking distance.

Very well appointed room. No exterior noise when in suite.

No valet cart available on check out. Had to make several trips back & forth.

.. the room layout with bed, sofa bed , full kitchen and nice size deck and fireplace ..the view of lake and marsh with frogs croaking at nite ..BBQ area, grassed with picnic table ..restaurant across parking lot called "Local" was terrific ..friendly staff ;desk and housekeeping ..walking friendly area with boardwalk past marsh plus it looked like trails extended further up lake front ..Boat dock next door with ? some rentals ..smallTrout fishery next door ..? take a tour ..Nice size exercise area, pool and spa. Extra towelsand robes in room

..Not very senior friendly..lack of extra elevator close to back hallway & lack of directions to find outside walkway to get back there..its a long walk to push a less than agreeable luggage trolly over lumpy carpet , lack of grab bars in tub, heavy doors with no auto open buttons ...snack bar not open at all...no muffins etc to grab for a quick breakfast before heading out ...restaurant location across the parking lot works for nice weather but would have been inconvenient if had been raining and we had to gear up .. spa was located across the parking lot and seemed to be closed so we couldn't get more info ..no convenience shop in hotel or close by ..so bring your own food. There were coin snack machines

Resort was lovely. However the purpose of our stay was to visit an elderly relative in hospital in Penticton so we there there mostly just to sleep.

Food not available, very limited in the area. They could even open a small shop for basic groceries.

Overall, friendly, courteous and good value for cost of staying.

Room could have been cleaner as to dust accumulation and bathroom facilities could be better organized. Toilet lid kept falling onto back while sitting; it needs fixing.

Room was excellent - well appointed and spacious. It was nice to be able to cook a meal using the in room kitchen facilities

Location and room amenities

The restaurant local provided great food and service. The beds were also comfortable and it was nice to have a full kitchen.

I felt that it was overpriced and our experience was average. First, I had e-mailed and called the hotel to see if we could bring our dog and never got a response, so we didn't bring him. I had also paid extra money to have a lake view room. You could see the lake from the patio but we were directly overlooking the pool and above the hot tub which was quite noisey. The staff at the front desk were very friendly but couldn't provide us with directions within Summerland. Also, I specifically chose to book the room because of the bath, which filled so slow I probably would have had to wait an hour and a half to fill. Our shower door was also broken and so was our clock radio, which usually isn't a big deal but we had used it as an alarm and missed our tour in the morning becuse of it. Later that evening we asked to have it replaced and the girl had to replace it three times and looked at us like we were crazy whenever we asked a question. We were trying to have a romantic weekend away and were disappointed.

All rooms have kitchens, for those who are tired of eating out.

The location of Summerland is perfect. We had a corner room overlooking the lake. The restaurant next door, although not attached to the hotel served great food.

I liked the marsh in front of the pool, the size and amenities of the room, the amenities of the building, friendly staff.

The room was very dark, and I felt like people in the parking lot could see in if the curtains were open. The spa was not open when I was there.

Very nice modern accommodations.

We have stayed here lots. Love the location and the outstanding room features and comfort. Terrific spot!

Small mention ie. Young staff seemed to be unconcerned/rushed...likely a shift change and it was off season. That was the only issue.

The room was perfect. We upgraded to a king bed . The beanery coffee is exquisite. It has all the comforts of home and more. Very quiet.

We were delayed and arrived at the hotel at 4am. The front desk clerk "Bob" graciously arranged for us to have a late check out the next day. The room was very comfortable and stylish.

The lovely location and the fact that the rooms had cooking facilities. Plus the great coffee and comfortable beds.

The lotion bottles were too firm to easily get the lotion out.

They need a better area for guests that smoke. It would be convienient if the Resort had a pamphlet made up showing what type of amenities are provided as well as their locations. There was very little in the room expaining what and where everything was as well as hours of operation.

I liked that it was quiet. It was convienient to pentiction and oosyoos. Enjoyed the water. Nice facilities. People friendly and really accomodating.

It was not clean the floor was sticky and bathrooms were not clean. Our room was not locked after cleaning staff was there.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of the room, the view and the ability to cook breakfast in the full kitchen.

Unfortunately the beds are too firm; so firm that I woke each morning with a backache.
