Super 8 Motel Duncan

Couldn't contact staff on a late arrival. Not even with the emergency number. Wasn't clean, very small rooms, out dated. We would never stay there again. We thought we were going to have to sleep in our truck.

It was very noisey, we could hear everything from all rooms around and above. although clean enough, the bed was extremely hard and the springs were noisey and the pillows were horrible, we might as well not have any.

It was close to the event, so convenient - Slept well, so beds mattress comfortable and fully covered Bath room clean but outdated. Check in and out times extended - helped out allot.

Room was Not as shown as on the website. The room was Not what I had expected for the money! I did mention this to the clerk when I arrived but she did not offer a solution to the problem. The room was to small for all the furniture - especially with two queen size beds, a large dresser, a large tv , small table two arm chairs a larger table and one chair, and kitchenette squeezed into it - so there was no room to move around, or to relaxed except for sitting on the beds. I had specially ordered a room with kitchenette and had planned to eat in the room but this was next to impossible with everything crammed into to a really small space! with no room to prepare a meal and no space for two adults to sit comfortably and eat. Kitchen sink tap leaked. Fridge was not cold enough to keep drinks cool, even though turned up full. Shower taps did not work to get the water warm enough. No conditioner for my hair. Bathroom light and fan all in one switch, made it impossible to get up in the night with out waking up everyone in the room. The carpets in the hallways need replacing, the place seems run down. Room 110 had a odor in it like mold! so had to leave the window open- all day and all night and with it being on the ground floor, window had a flimsily lock system. So security could have been an issue. Vehicles on the ground level park in backwards- causes a exhaust issue with ground level rooms. Room was for two but only enough big towels for one person. When called before booking, asked if they served real maple syrup - they said yes but it was a cheap corn syrup! Would have brought our own. Asked if the beds had been replaced recently..... answered yes... some of them. All seems pretty shady for a chain of motels... would have expected better. Room was maybe worth $35 a night!

The hotel is part of a complex that has a drinking establishment. The customers of the drinking establishment carried the party on to the parking lot which is located behind the room #107 from 2:00 a.m. on until 4:00 a.m. at which time a woman who must have been staying at the hotel came yelling and running down the hall!! If a person is interested in getting a night's sleep this hotel should not be considered.

Clean. Appreciate having a small fridge. Nice breakfast.

Our room was so cramped we could barely turn around in it. The beds were small. No real place to sit except on beds. Friends had rooms with chairs and paid less! Third floor room, no elevators.

If they could add sauage and egg that would be perfect. On the second floor,in the hall way should do some renovation.

We selected this motel as a budget option at the end of a Vancouver Island visit. It was less than a 90 min drive to Victoria airport for an early flight. It was set back from the Trans Canada highway - easy to find and access. What the location lacked in charm (none) it made up in convenience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room, accessed from the car park, by trundling bags through a corridor from the guest entrance, was quiet and, while compact, had all the basic essentials for a comfortable overnight stay.The food at the on-site restaurant, Smithy's, was fine and good value.

It was quiet & close to everything I needed.

Als die pünktliche Anreise nicht möglich war, wurde der Anreisetermin ohne Probleme um zwei Tage ohne Aufpreis verschoben. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und liebevoll für den Besucher vorbereitet. Sehr gepflegtes Bad. Trotz des in der Nähe vorbeiführenden Trans Canada Highways ist es sehr ruhig. Ein unbedingt zu empfehlendes Motel.

Das Internet war ein wenig instabil und nicht gesichert.

The Staff and owner were fabulous.

Rooms were not cleaned every day. Very stuffy/muggy - the air condititioning didn't work well.

Im Hotel ist ein Familienrestaurant und eine Bar. Wenn einem das kontinentale Fruehstueck nicht reicht, kann man ein gutes Fruehstueck im Restaurant bekommen. Abends ist in der Bar durchaus etwas los. Auf den Zimmern hoert man aber davon nichts. Der Service ist gut.

Das Zimmer hat eigentlich einen sauberen Eindruck gemacht, doch morgens habe ich ein Tier im Bett gefunden, das nach Internetrecherche anscheinend eine Bettwanze war. Das war dann schon ein wenig besorgneiserregend. Ich habe das Tier beim auschecken der Frau an der Rezeption gezeigt und sie versicherte mir, dass sie etwas dagegen unternehmen wollen. Mal sehen, ob sie das auch wirklich machen...

Nothing

Perhaps it was the police car when we arrived with a handcuffed man in tow or the six police cars in the parking lot outside our room dealing with the bar patrons at 2am. The again it may have been the two double beds crammed into a room made for one double.

It was centrally located for our needs.

Our room had a very old damp musty smell.
