It's small, quaint, old and well-maintained. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were large and generous. We'd certainly stay again.
Not much. A few more towels and coffee packs would have been nice.
Always wanted to stay at this Beautiful Boutique hotel and finally did... And I will return! I booked a Studio King, and upon arrival we were Upgrade to a Two bedroom Suite, the Suite was beautiful, warm and inviting, beautiful original art work on the walls, and a wonderful living room and dining room, with 2 bedrooms upstairs, everything was there for us. Staff was wonderful!! And the location is great, close to all the great shopping. If you want to really have a "unique expect", I would recommend this beautiful boutique hotel is a second, I know I will be going back!! The Swans is a GEM!!
Close to all the great things to do and see. GREAT staff. Clean and comfy room. Will stay again.
VG location - walking distance to downtown. Brew pub onsite with VG, pub-style food. Room was spacious, clean, & bright.
Expected noise due to location and pub etc but there was a lot of noise from other rooms. Very thin walls I guess. Slow, slow, slow WiFi.
Incredibly accommodating, clean and large rooms with an excellent location. Great value for money, I would happily recommend to any friends or family.
Furniture in suite (sofa, chairs etc) were rather old and stained, but really no big deal
Way beyond expectations! So clean, modern, quiet, awesome location. Highly recommended!
Lots of reasonably priced parking and a really nice large room suitable for adults to share over a business trip.
Service in the bar could be much better, it was exceptionally poor at our table. Too bad, because the beer is great and the establishment is something special. You can find other great places for a drink within very short walking distances fortunately.
The pub and the atmosphere of the whole hotel.
That the bathroom was NOT on the same floor as the bedrooms. Not too convenient for seniors.
The suite we stayed in was a cute 2 bedroom apartment. It was roomy and had lots of character. The location of the hotel is great with lots of interesting shops and great restaurants in walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and would like to stay there again when we return to Victoria.
Large room, very comfortable, great brew pub beer, good food and excellent live Blues Band.
Difficult to find the button to turn on the Close Captioning (subtitling) on TV (and remote controls).
Room set up, convenience, beer, service
Each apartment has all the comforts of home and is individually decorated Very friendly staff and affordable stay. The Pub has excellent home brews and a good menu.
Great suite on the 3rd floor. Staff is great. Hugh is the best. The beer tasting is fun. Swans beer is tasty. Live music every evening. Cool! Love the flowers and the little 'balconies'.
Loading/unloading space not always available unless you park halfway on the sidewalk. Minor inconvenience :)
It was just in the Old Town of Victoria. Very beautiful hotel, indeed. We stayed in two bedroom suite. We have enjoyed very much.
Hot water tank of our room was too small. Some of us could not get hot shower.
location, friendly staff, easy access to everything
had rooms on main street and noise of passers by kept most of us awake, but this is something the hotel had no control of
We loved the building and location and the restaurant (MOLE) just up the street. Front desk employees we terrific and helpful
2 story only bathroom downstairs no AC (but actually didn't have to have it) The second bedroom was a little stuffy at night
Period charm, location, space, comfort
Great location. The "room" is actually a large studio, with an open and fully equipped kitchen, modern and quite charming. Laundry room on site as well. The staff will answer all your questions and accommodate all your requests with no problem, although not all of them have a smiley face.
No air-conditioning and the fan is not sufficient on warmer days/nights. Could not keep the window open in the night because of the noise from the pub downstairs (only on nights when there was live music though), and because of the construction work before 8am across the street. Ask for a quiet room, they will probably find one for you.
Location Little extras they provided to guest - sample brew, free DVDs, coffee station at front, free newspaper.
Only one toilet for a 2 bedroom suite - but we managed fine. Parking - due to a local event we weren't able to park in the designated area even though we paid for it. I am certain this was due to the Dragonboat races and crowds.
Very clean and good service
Only bathroom for a party of 5 was downstairs from the bedrooms and the stairs are noisy so we woke up every time anyone had to visit the washroom in the middle of the night!; don't choose a suite if visiting witholder people or kids !
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The suite was very large and had a full kitchen, so we felt like we had a home, not just a room, during our stay in Victoria. Great value for the money!
Location was great and the old style pub was lovely. Apartment was great with a full kitchen.
The 2nd bedroom is a little small. Twin beds took up most of the area and there wasn't an option to put them together. Would be OK for kids but a bit tight for adults with suitcases etc.
The appearance, ambiance, and located in the heart of old town Victoria. Helpful staff who remembered faces and requests.
Service was a bit lacking in the restaurant and they made it clear that US currency would be treated as Canadian, so you needed to use plastic or lose 9% value if you wanted to pay cash.
