Stunning location, excellent service and a wonderful hotel. Not to be missed!! The hotel sent me an email a few days prior to our arrival advising we could upgrade our room to a lake view room for an extra $100 per night or a mountain view room for an extra $50 per night, which did not please me! I sent them an appropriate response and we (fortunately) got lake view rooms at no extra charge.

The location, the Scenery is Unique. Absolutely spectacular. One of the world's must do's Total rip off prices for everything. The room is too small to swing a cat in. Nothing in the mini bar on arrival - you have to order it at ludicrous prices. Grounds very poorly kept. Noisy work going on in gardens on a sunday!!! What is that about? Definitely a total rip off, No wonder its only the Chinese tourists there. The most attracive part of the viewing area was closed off with no apologies offered to the guests (and certainly no discounts offered) There was absolutely no service on the terraces where the view is what you come for . Rubbish really! In other countries there would be heaters on the terrace - which I would expect at this rip - off price - but no, nothing, Very disappointing, The place needs new management urgently!!! The only bar in the place is dark and dismal with crap beer served with 90% CO2 gas making it impossible to drink. 23 dollars for fish and chips is a rip off in any language. AND you cant see the view except for about three tables. No way I could recommend this to anyone. There are lodges half a mile away at a third of the price - OK they dont have the view but hell you can still get the view just by walking up the road!

Excellent room service execution Food to good standards Historic photograph galleries The lake (I agree to response by property (see below) to this review but not its publication or any form of identification) High density restaurant bench seating and lack of separation from others Front desk environment and involvement Inadequate staff management and staff commitment at saloon even at a quiet time (needs less European attitudes).

The front desk staff were helpful. Of course, the location is awesome, quite incredible. The dinner meal in the Waliser Stube was excellent. The hotel is undergoing renovations, there is no discount for the disruption and lack of use of facilities space in the room rates. We had two rooms as we were traveling with friends with young children, they had a junior suite which was too hot. They had to have a cooling unit brought in to drop the temperature so they could sleep and this was only a cool May day. The breakfast café area was crowded with limited seating and was dirty. I had to clean my own table and for the hotel rates I was charged this is unacceptable. Again, for the rates I paid I had to pay a daily internet charge - ridiculous. I would only recommend Lake Louise to honeymooners or as a Luxury destination, but be prepared for the lack of luxury in everything but the view.

We enjoyed the food (Saloon & Poppy's) and the scenery. The staff were pleasant. I was very upset to have arrived on Friday just before 5pm and did not gain access to my room unit 7pm. I travel 2 - 3 times a year and have NEVER had this happen. Our only compensation for this inconvenience was a free drink for each myself and my husband. The excuse was that the floor was newly renovated; therefore they are wanting to ensure it was ready for guests. The side tables were dusty and the window was dirty. The quilt was not new (I was told how everything (furniture, blankets) would be all brand new) it was old and lumpy. It did not make the bed look very nice.

The amazing view, the fairy tale ambience, comfortable bed Spent too much time checking in: two staff on & one spent too much time chatting with a customer & did not even acknowledge that we were waiting. Several mistaken phone calls from house keeping & an early morning knock on door (delivering coffee pods) for another room.

The location was excellent, right on the lakeside with a fantastic view of the lake and mountains in the background. The king-bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was nice despite the freezing temperature outside. The lake view room upgrade wasn't worth it, as you get to see the lake as soon as you step outside. Wifi and parking were pricey extras that I think should be included in the room rate considering it is an exclusive hotel with an equally exclusive price tag.

hotel location is next to lake Louise 1. There was a 1.5 hour delay for the online booking to populate at the hotel database so they gave us the room 2. Room had no power: 3 side lamps, fan, and phone was not fuctionning. One of the side lamp had the wires exposed which totally unsafe and caused my wife to feel unsafe 3. We requested maintenance service: it took 30 min for the maintenance person to come and check, it was not convenient at all as (my wife and I were having dinner) 4. the maintenance person said that he will send someone but after 30 min the power came back up and no one verified if everything was ok -- Luckly, I unplugged the side lamp that had exposed wires from power !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friendliness of all staff. The views. The comfort etc etc. Mainly being able to eat excellent meals, as the problem of needing a GLUTEN FREE diet was completely understood by all the staff involved in catering at this hotel.

The accommodation was in a fantastic setting and we enjpyed our time there visiting from Australia. I paid for a lakeview room but found I was placed on the first floor room whose view of the lake was impeded by three trees. this was a little disapp0ointing and thought the nature of this view needed to be made clear and not charged out the same as other rooms with an unimpeded view. we also found that every restaurant was fully booked that night allowing ius only onew in hoise option for a meal...room service.

The location, history, facilities and staff were excellent! The prices for not room related activities (shopping, dining etc.) were not outrageous. The food offerings were up to the task for such a hotel. I think the recent renovations removed some of the charm to the building's facade. I also, find it ridiculous that for the price of the rooms, hotels in this range charge for internet access - but this is the norm.
